Amazon Australia 10% Cashback (up from 6%) @ Cashrewards

4070

Hi all. We've increased Amazon Australia Cashback to 10% until midnight Monday Tuesday AEST. Thank you for your support as always. Enjoy :)

Please Note:

  • Items added to your shopping cart before clicking from Cashrewards will not earn Cashback and will not be eligible for Cashback claims.
  • You must return and click through from Cashrewards to Amazon Australia every time you make a new transaction/purchase.
  • Purchases made via the Amazon App are not eligible for Cashback.
  • Gift Cards, Vouchers, Charity, Non-Profit items, and Amazon Prime memberships are not eligible for Cashback.
  • Cashback will be paid on eligible purchases, excluding shipping/delivery, taxes and GST.

A small education piece:

Please always ensure your last click before purchase is from Cashrewards. Simply click Shop Now and complete your shopping without leaving Amazon AU. A lot of untracked claims come from the fact members have other tabs open and/or are using Google or comparison sites to review their product/s before purchase. All cashback/rewards sites work off a simple principle - last click. The winning affiliate is always the one that receives the last click. Also turn off any AdBlock/uBlock/Ghostery as well as Safari (mobile and/or desktop) Cross-Site Tracking. Finally, you must return and click through from Cashrewards to the store every time you make a new transaction/purchase.

  • Keep up the good work

    ShopBack where are you?

      • +17

What? How is competition not good? Who cares who came first, the lower the price - the better the deal.

        • I think he might mean it would be sad if a shopback representative actually showed up and replied to the guy's comment

    • +2

      He's on someone's back.

  • Noooo I ordered crap on Friday. Oh well

    • I ordered crap this morning lol

      • +1

sounds like there must be good deals on crap

        • +1

          I'm not thaaaat cheap, okay!!

      • Cancel then reorder.

  • Thanks TA.
Now have to do some maths to choose Amazon OR eBay offer

    • eBay is probably the better offer, 15% off plus 1% cashback (on pre-discounted price) is 16% off.
Amazon is 10% cashback, effectively 10% off.
You come out 6% ahead, or $6 per $100, using the eBay offer.

      • +1

not everything is on plus though

      • +6

Thanks mate.. but it also depends on products listing pricing on these 2 sites.
For Example : Nintendo Switch around $469 from Target/EB @ eBay & will come around $398 after 15% discount but @ Amazon its already $398 + I will get additional 10% cashback too

        • +2

Target is normally excluded from discount codes

  • +16

Is it just me or does the Amazon cashback never work? I've done it 5-6 times now and I've always had to manually chase it up. It's only for Amazon as eBay and other sites like Aliexpress work fine. I know I used the right link since it's there in the click history. No ad-block is used either.

    • +5

Please make sure you follow the guidelines in the OP re cart and clicking back for each purchase. Thanks.

    • +2

I think I got more cashback from Amazon than anywhere else

    • +3

I have had the same experience… I find that Cashback keeps popping up even though I have already signed in to CashRewards before logging into Amazon AU… It's is frustrating to find out whether or not a transaction has been covered or not even though you have conscientiously jumped through their hoops…It's becoming too tedious for me to bother too much longer… TightA.. by the way, this is with no adblockers and no other browser windows open… About half of the amazon transactions I have done to date have not returned any 'reward' despite following their procedures. I cannot waste time chasing up for transaction offering a measely 1-5% anyway… life is too short. I have already killed off FlyBuys and Woolworths Rewards are coming close to getting the flick too.

      • I only ever get this with multiple tabs. But yeah it's pretty stupid if I can't use tabs.

What works for me everytime is to get everything in cart ready, then when ready to pay sign into Cashrewards, open every item in cart in separate tab, then delete all from cart and add straight back in. Counter intuitive to saying "don't open new tabs" but this has worked for me.

    • I made the mistake once of having the product already in my cart and it didn't track. The 2nd time round I clicked through, searched for products, added to cart, checked out aaaand got a tracked transaction.

      • how much time does it usually take to receive email for cashback after you have placed an order with success?

        • The tracked transaction email has been within 24 hours for me recently.

        • Sometimes not till it ships

    • -3

Probably 100 items on Amazon with cash back waiting to go through via Cashrewards here.

Follow the instructions and if it doesn't track pretty simple to contact them. Like most I see complain here didn't work I would assume you have complained here before actually asking their support.

    • +1

used to have lots of issues with just amazon CR tracking ….. but it was due to items either being in my cart already … or Adblock plus Chrome extension … Whitelisting both amazon and CR is not enough … I disabled the extension completely through chrome://extensions and my last 3 amazon orders have tracked with CR perfectly :)

      Cheers

  • Ebay tomorrow? ;)

  • Thanks TA, Are preorder included?

    • +4

Pre-orders are eligible for Cashback provided the item is scheduled to be shipped within 60 days of purchase.

      • +1

        Thx

  • Is cashback available if I pay using amazon gift card balance?

    • I don't think so.

  • +1

Not too bad for gopro hero. Gopro selling for $249 (although was $239 yesterday). But brings it down to $224.

Can convert it to gopro hero 5 black using process mentioned over here unless you really needed the mic input it seems good.

  • +3

Hey @TA im so happy you started working for cashrewards and you are making the current offers even greater. now, im very happy you lost your last job :))

  • What about pre orders

    • Amazon don't bill you until the product comes out so I guess the checkout would process as a $0 transaction with no cashback

      • Hey TA could you please confirm what happens in the case of pre orders?

    • Cashback does come until the item is sent.

  • +2

Love cash rewards and I guess you have just got to treat it as a "bonus" and nothing more but it is a bit annoying when your cashback history looks like this

So many tracked claims denied and then more that are just sitting there way overdue, no doubt to be denied for what reason I don't know.

    • +3

TA has PM'd me in regards to this issue and sorted it all out!

It was an error with 2FA on my account that was causing this, I was completely unaware of this so if anyone else is having issues be sure to just contact cash rewards or TA and I'm sure it will be sorted :)

  • TIL Cashrewards is normally 6% for Amazon? That's a good rate as it is.

    10% is amazing.

    • +4

Don't forget that cashback is based on price excluding taxes i.e. GST. If GST is applicable, which it often is, the effective rates are ~9.09% when headline rate is 10% and ~5.45% when rate is 6%. Still good cashback rates but not quite as good as everyone keeps quoting…

      • well, its Amazon Australia, so I presume GST is inclusive to all the products?

        • No, not always.

        • @Nice one baby: Correct. Some items may be exempt from GST and some 3rd party sellers may not be registered for GST. However in the overwhelming majority of cases GST will be applicable so the effective cashback rates will be less than the headline rates that are often quoted

      • Thanks for explaining! I always wondered why my orders weren't quite right!

  • +1

    HOT-DIGGITY DAFFODIL!

  • Not too sure how this works, does this mean i get a discount from the site or do I get hard cash transferred back into my bank account?

    Also
Gift Cards, Vouchers, Charity, Non-Profit items, and Amazon Prime memberships are not eligible for Cashback.
Amazon Prime memberships are not eligible for Cashback, does this mean products which are Prime eligible will not have cash back or does it mean that the cash back cannot be applied to applying for a Prime membership?

    • Amazon Prime Memberships

IMO that's worded fairly clearly to mean you can not claim cashback on the subscription itself. You would still be able to claim cashback on items that you purchase which happen to be prime eligible of course, as long as they don't fall under any of the other exclusions.

    • If only they had some kind of "web page" that gave info about how it works.

  • Thanks OP for making me buy things I don’t need, with the money I don’t have. :)

  • Now we need a good sale or two on Amazon!

  • Thanks TA, are Amazon US orders sold thru Amazon AU included?

  • +1

This 10% from TA combines well with the Hamza deal from last month - 15% off $50+ Orders on Selected Household and Personal Care, Baby and Body Care Supplies @ Amazon AU

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/394827

I’m sure a lot of the prices have changed. Nivea sunscreen is matching the Woolies half price (before 15% off and cashback); Bref toilet liquid cleaner is also matching Woolies half price - $2.50. Dettol hand wash $2. Dynamo stain removal 2L $8. etc.

    • +1

About every item I've gone to re-purchase after the deal started has increased in price substantially. Or items taken off the deal. One thing that has really pissed me off with Amazon AU like they're watching what sells and upping the prices (It is the same seller Amazon AU both times).

      • Yes that's a big problem I've noticed with Amazon.

You need to know your prices for all the items, otherwise you can get badly burned by simply choosing several supermarket items. Items can be 5 times+ the normal price.

In normal supermarkets, this does not happen to such extremes.

        • +2

On top of that, I've checked the prices of the household goods I buy regularly for Amazon vs Colesworth. Amazon AU without any cashback or other discounts is either more expensive or exactly matches standard Colesworth price 90% of the time.

Which is worse than it sounds since Colesworth has up to 50% on many household goods very often which you can buy without any minimum purchase amount vs Amazon which so far has only had 15-25% off with minimum purchase amounts.

And this isn't exclusively an Amazon AU problem either, from the U.S., Robert Platt Bell writes…

Amazon simply isn't a bargain anymore - compared to other online sites. Or put more succinctly, if I am shopping for something, I check Amazon, to be sure, but more often than not, I buy the item on some other site (eBay, for example) for far less. Amazon's complicated "gotcha" checkout procedures are not an inducement either. No, I do not want Amazon Prime, Sam-I-Am. Nor do I want green eggs and ham.

And therein lies the problem for Amazon. People buy things online because of lower prices and convenience. If you take away lower prices and make it a hassle to find things (after wading through pages of bizarrely priced items and then making checkout a hassle worse than a timeshare presentation) people will move elsewhere. And on the Internet, there is an awful lot of "elsewhere" to find things for sale. Being an online merchant isn't rocket science.

  • $1169 after cashback for iPhone X 64 AU stock, not bad?!
    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/aw/d/B077PQGQ4K/ref=ya_st_dp_su…

    • Would actually be ~$1,181 as you don't get the Cashrewards 10% on the GST component. This means the cashback on this would be $118.09 - not the $129.90 you have assumed in your calculated net cost of $1,169. Refer my earlier post above.

    • can you see the price is increased today

  • Still haven't managed to find a decent price on Amazon AU for the stuff I buy, but at least 10% makes it closer.

  • THANKS for the tips :)

CLEARLY it worked - I just got 6 emails from Cashrewards on my Amazon AU purchase.

  • So best practice appears to be a totally clean browser or VM with everything disabled and no extensions?

Meaning no past or future tracking since this is not my usual browser or setup. Isn't the whole point of these cashback sites tracking or is it only purchases they want data for?

Tossing up a $500 purchase that will be $50 off anyway the next time it is on sale and worried it will not track which is the reason I stopped using them in the first place. (2 x 8TB WD Mybook @ $249.31 ea today, $225 on sale)

    • +1

So best practice appears to be a totally clean browser or VM with everything disabled and no extensions?

No idea if it's best practice, but that's what I do. For normal use, I use Firefox with the "savable" add-on installed, which compares all the available cashbacks, plus I have ad-blocking & privacy add-ons. But when I actually want to purchase, I fire up a Windows 10 VM, use the default Edge browser, with absolutely no plug-ins, and then open the best cash-back site, login, click through, and purchase, then close the VM. Only do this because I want it to track correctly when purchasing, but I want proper ad-blocking the other 99.9% of the time, and since there seems to be a conflict between the two, it's just easiest to separate those into 2 distinct functions (browsing vs actually buying).

      • Thanks @NickJ I might give it a go. Just seems a bit like I'm reaping the rewards without paying the price which seems a crazy setup on the rewards site end but I guess great for me. If I didn't have to disable everything I'd probably just be lazy and click through on my regular browser.

  • Can CR please make tracking of Amazon sales a bit easier please?
So many hoops, sometime it simply isn’t worth the effort.
    Honest feedback.

    • There really isn't any hoops, other than the simple one of don't have the item(s) in your cart before clicking through.

If you are having issues with it tracking I'd say you must be using an add blocker or maybe a VPN or something…

      • No add blocker. No VPN.
Not allow to have anything in basket - is a hoop.
If you don’t want feedback then that ok.

        • I'm not in any way speaking for cash rewards don't misinterpret that, I'm just taking from a common sense human point of view.

  • I made an order at Amazon about 2hrs before this email came out. When did the 10% kick in?
    Nearly worth cancelling and re-ordering.
Are you able to look and confirm TA?

    • Amazon AU 10% Cashback started at exactly 4:55pm AEST Sep 16.

      • Ahh that sucks, ordered at 2:45pm

  • If the preorder item is released 15th November (59 days) but the estimated arrival time is 21st-23rd nov is that still eligible for cashback?

  • Is the offer expired or is it expiring tonight at midnight?

    • +1

Hi TomGum. Offer has just been extended until 11:59pm AEST tomorrow (Tuesday).

  • +1

WTF!!!!amazon jack the price recently, the Nintendo switch was $398,after I have a shower and open my desktop, it's $429???!!!

    • +5

      You shower, you lose…

  • Posted here to remind me to follow up the tracking from today's purchase.

(I will humbly apologise if it gets tracked)

    • Same. TA - how long does it take for confirmation of purchase from CR?

      • +1

Hi. It's all in the terms when you click the main link…

Orders will be tracked & processed automatically into your Cashrewards account as pending within 4 days of purchase.

      • +2

I humbly apologise to Amazon, TA, cashrewards and the internet. I have received my notifications earlier this afternoon, a bit over 12 hours after payment.

I did close all tabs and had everything removed from my cart. I crossed my legs and 8 of my fingers during the whole process, typing only with my thumbs. Worked fine!

        • Great feedback. Thank you.

  • Is the cashback amount capped at all? Wanting to purchase a camera valued at $1499
