LADDA Battery Charger (AA/AAA) $15 (Was $20) @ IKEA (Free Family Membership Required)

200

Was looking at picking up some LADDAs tomorrow and saw that there is a battery charger which is $5 cheaper if you have family membership. Not the cheapest charger around but it does look stylish.

4 individual charging channels allow you to charge 1 or up to 4 batteries at a time.
Turns off automatically when the batteries are fully charged, defective or too hot.
Provided with indicator light – clearly shows the charging status.

Good to know
You can charge whatever mix and amount of AA and AAA, up to 4 at the time.
The charger will stop charge when the batteries are fully charged (maximum 2.5 hours charging).
Power supply cable included.

For a few dollars more I Would recommend a Liitokala Lii-500 - greater charging options, capacity testing, does 18650 (amongst other sizes,) LCD screen, etc.

Ikea one is great if you only want to charge AA & AAA

But be careful when buying, many sellers (including GearBest) are selling the charger WITHOUT the plugpack power supply. Make sure you get one WITH the power supply, and make sure it has an Australian plug.

      • I just bought one with USB. I was thinking of using one of my spare USB iPad chargers. Would this be okay?

USB is 5V, the Lii-500 needs 12V, so you can't power it from USB. Also, the USB port on the Lii-500 isn't its power input, it's an auxiliary output.

This previous deal has an Ebay link, where you can get a plugpack for under $4: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/354005

        • @Russ:
Cheers I just double checked turns out I bought the Lii-402. I'll try it out for a few months and if not good enough I'll give it to parents

      • True about the power supply. Though, I used the power supply from an old optus modem. Perfect.

For $80 more the Maha C9000 is okay. Has refresh and analyse function anyway and the screen on it is so bright it's a great nightlight. Sometimes makes a high pitched whining sound when plugged in but no battery inserted, so it must be a serious piece of gear because cheap chargers don't do that for me.

  • Good find op even though not in a rush to buy a charge as yet. still got the aldi sitting around.

While this is a smart charger, it is a minimalist charger. Its only "display" is a single LED, which only indicates "charged" after ALL of the inserted batteries reach full charge.

It's a good first charger, for people who haven't used a charger before. Its main feature is that it is probably the cheapest genuine smart charger you can buy. But if you are experienced with battery charging, I recommend you get one which:
    - can tell you the capacity of the battery (as numbers)
    - (maybe) can also charge lithium-ion batteries, if you use that type of battery

As Altomic mentioned above, the Lii-500 is such a charger, and I recommend that charger. The Nitecore D4 is also a good charger, but the Lii-500 is usually about the same price and has more features. Both of these are frequently listed on sale here on Ozbargain, the Lii-500 has been listed three times this year: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/liitokala-lii-500

This charger, along with a pack or two of the white LADDA rechargeable batteries, makes an excellent gift for someone with small children (assuming they don't already have a good charger). When put in toys, if the batteries go flat, THEY DON'T MELT DOWN.

  • I went to click and collect (hoping for a quick & easy IKEA run) and they want to charge me $20 to C&C >???
    wow

  • Dam, bought the LiitoKala Lii - 402 Smart Battery Charger for $10 AUD from previous deal.

All I need is a simple smart charger for kids stuff. This would of been perfect smart charger with local warranty.

No need for the buyers remorse in that case.

For 10 bucks you cant go wrong with the Lii-402 - I have one and think its a far better unit than the Ladda charger offered here.
