Sorry to hijack… but could someone please take a photo of their CT wrapped parcel aa delivered? Need a photo to find mine…. thanks!

      • Sorry, I didn't keep the photo.

      • It's just a carton box, medium-sized with the CT logo.

  • hurrah

I've heard very good things about these. I'm also seeing 100% cotton non-iron and you absolutely have my attention…

    • +5

Be warned - you are never going back to 'iron' shirts once you get 100% cotton non-irons, and will likely want/need to replace all of your old shirts.

    • +1

Like the Geoffrey Beene non-iron, these are legit non-iron. I never iron them and have no issues.

      • How do you wash/dry your CT shirts? Mine were perfectly non-iron for the first few months but now I've had them a couple of years and do need to iron.

        I'm sure there's something I'm doing wrong!

        • I'm no scientist but I'd imagine that the non ironing properties of the cotton eventually deterioriate as you wash them? Kind of like how if you scrunch up a piece of paper it'll never be perfectly flat again because you've effectively snapped the fibres which make up its composition.

        • +3

Wash them without spinning, hang them immediately soaking wet on a hanger, they dry straight and no need to iron. I also imagine this would help extent the shirt life.

        • The resin that helps with wrinkles probably wears/washes off over time.

          https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dress_shirt#Non-iron

I find that I still need to iron non-iron clothes so I stopped buying them. Plus the formaldehyde that they give of isn't exactly good for you.

        • +3

          @pakkapie:

Wash without spinning? So do you do a load of just shirts then? (Or are all your clothes dripping wet when they come out?)

        • @dust: defs do a load of shirts alone. Other clothes wouldn't dry as quick and may become stably.

        • @pakkapie: thanks this sounds like a good plan mate.

        • @R-Man: so you save up a week or two worth of shirts to do in one load? Will give it a try next wash!

        • @dust: Correct. The basket is literally full of water after they go on hangers.

        • @R-Man: thanks. I heard a radio segment on life hacks, and the caller had this hack that he washes his shirts then hangers them on the line and hoses them down. This is my version but I works most of the time for my tml business shirts).

  • +1

Good quality shirts for the price. I have a few myself. 100% cotton, non-iron.

Also free returns for any reason, including change of mind, within 6 months.

    • was it not 30 days?

      • +1

Bought a pair of dress boots from them that came with 6 months return.
What I really liked is if the item doesn't fit you can exchange it and they pay for postage both ways!

      • +1

Pretty sure it's 6 months, or at least it was last time I bought shirts from them.

    • +1

Is it still free returns? Under their Help section, they have:

"We offer 2 brilliant ways to return or exchange an item - Parcelpoint and your local Post Office. Exchanges and Suit returns are always free of charge. If you return an item we will deduct $7.95 from your return credit to contribute to return shipping costs."

Looks like a $7.95 fee to return items now - the last time I bought shirts (>1 year ago though), it was definitely free.

  • Is their slim fit roughly the same as TMs slim?

can someone ask cashrewards for 10% cashback?

    • +38

Your wish is my command. 10% cashback for 24 hours via CR. Please remember… last click! Enjoy :)

      • Can't seem to apply it with the above discount link.

      • CR won't stack with a discount link though will it?

        • +4

          Thanks ily & Punkboy :)

          Important, please read on…

Can't seem to apply it with the above discount link / CR won't stack with a discount link though will it?

After running a stack of tests just now, this appears to be the case unfortunately. I can't even generate a tracking link to the offer (it's disabled on the affiliate platform, and possibly for this very reason). The only workaround I can think of is to use the link above, add the items to cart, then come back and click out via CR and buy. However, there are no guarantees you'll get cashback or even indeed track. Consider it a bonus if you do, and hopefully they won't decline the sales down the track. My guess is that Charles Tyrwhitt isn't keen on giving cashback on top of an already sizeable discount. Sorry I can't be clearer than this, but it's the best I can offer/suggest.

        • +2

@tightarse From system reports overnight, I can confirm sales using the discount link in this post are not tracking (as suspected) so we’ve dropped back to our regular rate. Sorry I can’t offer better news, but it’s now obvious that Charles Tyrwhitt has set it up this way to avoid ‘double dipping’ with this sale. Have a great weekend!

  • how long is this for?

  • Basically $20 off $120 spend.

    • No, basically 3 shirts for $99.

Plus overseas taxation charges for not using the right credit card :)

        • Is this one of those 'International transaction fees' even when paying in AUD?

I paid using my International transaction fee free card just in case?

    they dont joke about that
the last bargain was meant to expire on the 31st of Jan 2019, but did so on the 30th of june 2018

  • Awesome! I checked their website this morning and found no deals. Nice timing

  • I just purchased 3 shirts for $119, oh well. Good shirts either way.

    • I would call and speak to them (it goes through to london). They have always been very helpful over the phone when I have called about pricing issues.

      • Yeah I might use the live chat and see what they can do. Though it's only $20 bucks so not really too fussed. They're good shirts I'm happy to pay a little bit more for.

        • That's not the OzBargain way.

        • @Munki:take away my card, I don't deserve it

        • Though it's only $20 bucks so not really too fussed.

For anyone who is not fussed about $20 please feel free to pass on to me.

If 5 of you are generous enough, I could get three shirts :)

        • @docians: you talk to CT on my behalf and if they refund the $20 then you can have half of it

        • +1

          @jkerrigan:

          Sure thing
PM me your full name, date of birth, delivery address and card details and I'll do the needful ;)

    • same lol, devastated

  • how's the fit of these compared to TM Lewin?

    • +2

Fit can be a bit boxy. If you usually wear a slim fit I'd go for their extra slim.

      • If I find TM extra slim good around the torso, but baggy in the arms, will I do ok?

  • Nice, I got an email this morning with a coupon code for $15 off $100 spend 15AUS3. Wonder if it stacks.

    • +2

usually they don't as 3 for $99 is on its own a good offer

    • +1

I thought they disabled the coupon box with these kinds of deals?

  • Doesn't seem to work on POLO tees. Am I reading the T&Cs wrong?

  • Anyone know where they ship from and how long? Need shirt for friend wedding next weeken. Wonder if its arrive on time

    • +1

Cutting it real short..they ship from Sydney..last time i got the parcel in 3 business days..might take longer if shipping from the UK

  • +1

Nice, called it when the VH sale shirt ended that there would be another shirt sale right around the corner…

Now when is TMlewin going to counter offer with their usual sale

    • Does TM ever counter with a similar 3 for $99 (that includes non irons)? I think I prefer tm shirts due but I had a look at their current "sale" and oh my…

      • +1

yeah they have pretty similar sales, got 3 shirts for 120 last time, pretty sure after a while they lower the price to 3 for 99 aswell.

Personally the TM shirts fit me much better then the CT shirts.

        • Sweet, I'll hold out for that then

      • TM non-iron are useless.

  • anyone know what their merino/lambswool sweaters are like? perhaps compared to uniqlo merino?

    • +1

To be honest, uniqlo's merino wool is pretty poor quality. They will be lucky to survive one season of wear.

      • I find the merino sweaters are pretty average. I had one that was moderately warm but the stitching under the arm came loose after about 6 months. My experience has been that Ralph Lauren wool sweaters are much warmer and better quality wool (a bit more pricey but worth it imo).

        • I find MJ Bale wool to be good.

  • -2

Last lot I bought of these the fabric was so hard on these they legit made my nipples hurt. Dunno what is going on with that weave!

I think i'll give them another shot but just won't go all white. Need to retire some shirts.

    • Some are thicker than others. I normally go light or mid thickness

    • +1

      You’re thinking of TM.

CT is much smoother and lighter material in comparison.

      • No I am pretty sure they are the CT ones, they are fairly light to be almost see through. Listen, they probably need to be "broken" in somewhat, but I was surprised by it occurring to be honest.

        • Yeah its defs the CT ones which are 'heavy', In summer theres no way I could wear their shirts.

the TM lewin shirts feel like im not even wearing anything.

  • I’ve been tempted to try out their shirts. I don’t mind ironing, what matters more is how comfortable they are and their aesthetics. Do the non-iron shirts irritate the skin? And how do they look compared to a freshly iron shirt, slick, less so? Cheers.

    • +2

You can still iron these, and I do every few washes so I get creases where they should be. The magic I find is the one iron can last ages if you hang immediately after spinning finishes in the wash. I find the twill to be fantastic, and wear them all day everyday. No irritation issues so far.

      • +4

I find is the one iron can last ages

My one iron lasts for ages too.
That’s because I don’t know how to use it

        • Haha

      • Thanks heaps. Time to measure my best fitting shirt right now and order myself some.

    • +1

If other non iron clothes irritate you then avoid these.

Non iron resins give off formaldehyde which can irritate the skin.

      • Might be why mine irritate me. Strange though because other non iron shirts from other brands are fine on my skin.

  • Thanks got another 6 since last deal. Would recommend highly

  • Can anyone compare fit with Jeff Banks' tapered fit shirts?

  • -6

Bought one of their shirts during a previous deal. Took 3 exchanges and I still wasn't happy with the fit. Didn't appreciate the lack of chest pocket and vertical button alignment on the cuffs either. I'll stick to $10 Target shirts.

    • +14

      Eww chest pockets.

      • 90s wooooo

      • +1

Where else would you put your pocket protector?

  • Thanks!

  • Bought one for $39.95 with free delivery. Got to try out their size first.

  • I'm not seeing the promotion… seeing $237 and 12.95 shipping? Does the link work or have i missed something?

    • Read above: switch off CR

  • these shirts available in myer or david jones just so i can try out the sizes before buying this online?
