  • OP, after you have had a look, please report back on whether a mounting bracket and an antenna are included in the kit. The specifications don't list them, but one of the customer reviews says "Comes with everything you need".

Probably will have a mounting kit but no antenna.
These are good devices, I have the 300 in my 4WD and it has good range, sound quality and scanning/squelch options. Definitely need and external antenna to make it work properly. If you don't already have a good external antenna, it might be worth looking at a kit like this one
    Great price.

Went to SCA to look at the UHF030 unit. It is slightly larger than what l was looking for. Went to Repco across the road to see what they had. Thinking probably not much, to my surprise they had the UHF300 kit on sale in their latest catalog for $179. You can guess which one l bought then. Sale finishes Sunday 9th Sept. https://imgur.com/a/kczMgt8

  • I reckon you would be better off getting a commercial radio from Simoco, Motorola, Tait, Icom or Kenwood - for around the same money second hand you can get a radio that will crap all over an Oricom or a GME for reliability and quality of build.

If they are programmed correctly and set to 5 Watts (instead of the 25+ Watts most are capable of) they can be legal to use as a UHF CB.

So dont leave us hanging man, tell us how, where we can program it correctly and set it to 5Watts
