I like that you tried to list all the free stuff in heading that you don't even have room for your own store

    • Fixed, thanks.

  • Added quantity, we have 30 of these deals available.

Seems expensive, what makes these more expensive?

  • +1

There is no sharp edge on the bike, in order to protect kids.
The hidden chain and spoke make it safer and durable.
Two modes available - ride or slide, more fun
Ergonomic design: more easy to handle with.
    Bright color, bright mood.
Suitable for 1-5 years children with height range 90cm- 110cm

These actually look well built, still quite pricey though.

    • Looks suitable for 2-4 at a stretch too small for real bike riding

  • OMG
Are there anythings that Xiaomi doesn't make?

          Didn't check K-mart or Big-W, did you?

The bikes there are even made in the same country!

        • @manic: No, and I did actually buy a balance bike from Aldi for my kids, but these have many more features that may be of value to some.

        • @badmanners:

Such as? I'm struggling to imagine what they might be.

This is a 12" beginner bike, right? So a toy. They get very little use before the kid graduates to a 16".
I see this has a hand-brake, but they are not normally recommended for such young children, rather a back-pedal brake. (this has both I hope?)

        • @manic: Hmm, have to check the back pedal brake tomorrow. Personally I prefer a hand brake for my 4yo but I'm no expert.

This has substantially more components than my Aldi balance bike and converts easily to and from a pedal bike.

Most of the other extras are covers and pads I guess.

Honestly, I would be too cheap to buy this but still hoped some would see some value.

          @badmanners:

I'm sure its a good bike, but way over the regular price for these.

Doesn't any 12" convert to a "balance" by removing the pedals and taping the crank arm? worked for me :)

I only used the trainer wheels with a toddler who lacked the motor skills to learn to ride a bike, but could ride it like a tricycle. Later remover trainers and pedals.

      • Chinese are buying imported products for their kids….

The point of a balance bike is that kids go from learning to balance to riding a bike with out training wheels.

Took literally five minutes for my youngest to go from balance bike to pedals.
Many hours of walking behind the older kids after removing their training wheels, because they would lean on the training wheels so had to learn how to balance.

Looks like the bike is very safe, but kids learn from scratches and bumps ;-).

    • Did you neg because they're including 'free' trainer wheels?
      Or for another reason?

      • +3

No evidence that this represents a good deal over other options or even the same product from other suppliers.

  • Is it an electric bike?

    • No, just easily convertible from balance to pedal.

  • Is there anything Xiaomi does not do?

  • +3

Sorry but gotta ask…. Band 28?

    • +2

      B28 not included.

  • It looks very cheapish on the video, I would probably consider it for $50 but 300.. nah..

  • You get a free Helmet, Gloves, Knee and Elbow Pads and Training Wheels which would normally cost you $82.50 from us.

    Any bubble wrap included?

Helmet, ok, maybe. But "Gloves, Knee and Elbow Pads"? How fast do you expect the 4yo to go on these?

    • I hear you, but the wife is interested in your bubble wrap idea.

Heaps of kids bikes on the nature strip on council clean up.
Take the crank and pedals off to use as a balance bike.

$280 is too much for a bike that would last 1-2 yrs. Many adults would not buy an adult bike for that price.
Aldi bike special soon the 29" bike for $350. I believe the quality for this one is good.

I got an aldi kids bike on special discounted to $25. Quality is good for that price, comes with training wheels for free too.

  • Looks really heavy if you want to spend $300 on a kids bike buy a heap balance bike then a byk brand e350.

Balance bikes are a complete waste of money and time.

With my kids I just took the pedals off an appropriately sized bike. The pedal arms still rotated but they didn't interfere with the kids and when they learned to balance I just put the pedals back on.

    • +1

Depends on the size and strength of the kids.
Some balance bikes are a lot lighter and have useful things like steering limiters.
My girls struggled with the first balance and pedal bikes I tried, then I got a ultra-light Cruzee which was a lot more successful.

    • I found a wooden balance bike for $40 was great and after 12 months my daughter went straight to a proper bike.
It probably depends on the age of the kid, as my neighbour did exactly what you did.

    • You cant get a pedal bike w seats as low as this - my son rode it from about 20 mths https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BootR-12-Steel-Balance-Toddler-K… and then transitioned to a 12" pedal bike
