Looks good price. Anyone used one of these?

Yes it sucks, in a bad way.

I am quite pleased with our one, air flow is lower than a 240v one but suction is still pretty good.
I prepped our roof for painting and then used this to vacuum the gutters and later in the day vacuumed the floors.
Run time is 17 minutes on a 4 amp battery.

Thanks OP. I'll look out for it.

    • No problem

  • would this be recommended for normal household use as well? i have a few young kids with spills but also general use.

This 18v vacuum kit is now the same price as the standard vacuum skin only. Both kit and skin only come with the same accessories but with the kit you get an extra $89 worth

The kit is normally $149 so you're not really getting an extra $89 worth.

    $149 - $99 = $50

    • Yeah but that's just like maths, man.

This kit & price has been mentioned a couple of times on OzBargain over the last 3-4 months but never as its own deal. I got one a while ago purely to add another 4Ah Battery and an extra Charger to the stables but was surprised with the little vac. It's pretty crap when compared to a 240V vac… even a cheap 240V vac performs far better than this however the convenient size and weight and cordlessness makes it pretty handy to have nearby when renovating etc. For $99 it's a great little deal to add to your Ozito fleet but don't expect it to replace your other vacs.

    • Good information.

    • Is it good for just sucking up hair and dust in bathroom?

      • Yes, it will do that easily.

    • How’d it compare to a corded $99 Kmart vacuum only?

      • This is cordless and the battery can be used for other power x tools if you got any.

This set was reduced to clear in Campbelltown a week or two ago for the price of $69, it's worth checking with your local Bunnings if they're clearing stocks.

Just checked a couple of my local stores price is still $99 but good to know

  • Been $99 since May. Wouldnt mind it if it came up on a good reduced amount, that would be worth it just for the battery and charger

      • 4Ah battery on special = $40
      • Spare charger retails at $25, so probably worth $15
      • That leaves the vacuum valued at $44 for the remainder

I'll take a gamble on a battery-operated vacuum at that price, especially given that I already need another 4Ah battery anyway.

      • Yep its worthwhile alright, though 70 would be great

Still holding out for Ozito to do a PowerXchange stick vac.
    Surprised they haven't already

  • does the dry vac require a bag or is it bagless?

    • It comes with a bag and they are cheap and a decent size, you could use it without the bag but I don't know if it is recommended.

      • It's a wet/dry vac, so you'd definitely use it without the bag when cleaning up liquids.

  • I bought one of these and sold the battery/charger on gumtree for $50 so it was a good deal (I have loys of batteries). Suction is ok for light work. Obviously not as good as a powered shopvac but it does a reasonable job. I initially wanted it to suck up leaves etc in the garden which I do a lot with my shopvac but this isn't really suitable for that. Overall I'm happy with it for minor jobs and the car.

  • A lot of people saying the suction is pretty light on this; how would it compare to a Dyson or Vax stick vac?

    • I'd say it's similar to the V6 on standard mode.

  • Worth buying for the car? Anything comparable?

    • If you already have other Ozito Power-X-Change tools then yes, absolutely. If not then 'maybe'.

    thanks got 1 today

  • it's okay for my tools-room, not for whole house….consider to it's price, it's worth to buy one….:)
