  • Anyone had any experience of these?

    • not my kind of thing as they are thicker, i have the normal stick on ones.

  • Quick google search brings up this $5 for 2 from big w… https://www.bigw.com.au/product/aunger-blind-spot-mirror-2-p…
    SCA have a 2 pack for $4
    Haven't even looked on ebay.

look closely and see if you can notice any difference.

      • I bought one from kmart, which adjusts by rotating. This one appears to adjust directly. Same same.

  • Bought something similar on ebay. They both fell off spontaneously after a few months.

I did this the other day - no blind spots anymore. Plus its free.

    • What about parking? I use the side mirrors to see how close I am to the curb when reverse parallel parking.
Great tip though- as a motorcyclist, I approve!

It scares my how many people dont have properly adjusted mirrors. I understand old cars with tiny useless mirrors (like my 1994 Nissan Pulsar) may need a blindspot mirror, but any modern car has viewing angles wide enough to cover from your door to the cut off with your rear-view mirror.

Some people seem to adjust their side mirrors for ease of reverse parking rather than for checking their blind spot.

Have used similar for years. Very handy. Glass definitely better than the plastic. Get the black as the silver peels. Also - change the tape before fitting.

WARNING: objects in mirror are actually behind you

Why do people think they need this?

Adjust your head slightly lower and all will be revealed!

    • Really depends on the car whether the head movement would be subtle enough to not be a pain in the butt.

Dc5, 350z, datsun120y, mitsubishi FTO, etc. All have masssiiivvveee rear pillars and almost no side window (because coupe).

You'd be amazed what you might miss if you had a sore neck or back, or just didnt feel like performing a few ostrich moves before merging.

      These help.

Rear mirror, ok. Side mirror, ok. Shoulder check, huge plastic pillar….. Seems ok!
      Lol

Hi Master, I totally understand the need. I think that the function it serves is a necessary one, but the fact that people need this to 'show' the blind spot means most of these people will have an accident regardless of attachment or electronic assistance.

As a motorbike rider, I ensure I never sit in any vehicles blind spot. Most times I notice any attachment on mirrors it's usually a clear indicator to stay away from that moving vehicle regardless.

A good driver/rider will always scan the road and be aware (and memorise colour/types of vehicles surrounding them). If you can no longer see that vehicle then there is a very high chance that vehicle is in your blind spot. A slight bob of the head in the downwards direction will reveal that vehicle in your mirror.

I'm all for people buying attachments to help, but, if you don't have the concept without an attachment, nothing will help.

Its blind spot mirror - there is a spot on the side of the vehicle which if there is a car in, it cannot be seen on the mirror. (some newer cars have a built in one or a sensor). at a glance, you can see it in this mirror.

i use them on both side mirrors so i can see the rear wheel. more useful when reverse parking and not hitting the kerb or get wheel rashes.

  • I've been having issues with the Zapals site for the last couple of weeks, but I haven't seen anyone else mention anything.

Sometimes I get the following error at random times / various stages:

"There has been an error processing your request

MISCONF Redis is configured to save RDB snapshots, but is currently not able to persist on disk. Commands that may modify the data set are disabled. Please check Redis logs for details about the error.

    Error log record number: 372958335778"

Other times I get to the checkout stage and the loading symbol just continues forever, so everything else on the page is greyed out and I can't click on or select anything.

I've tried accessing the site from my phone and two different computers, switched between Chrome and Firefox, and disabled various extensions.

    Dafuq?
