Havent seen the Nintendo Switch branded SD cards this cheap before. Saw it listed on Amazon AU's daily deals. To be fair you could get a non Nintendo branded sdcard for cheaper.

For example:
https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B073JYC4XM/ref=ox_sc_sf… $49
http://www.msy.com.au/micro-sd/20064-sandisk-sdsquar-128g-gn… $52 from MSY.

Please note this is a re-branded Sandisk Extreme Card with a Nintendo Switch logo, and it can be substituted with any other UHS-1 / UHS-l capable MicroSD card.

Rather get non-branded. No one is going to check what SD card you are using.

just to clarify to all owners

This memory card is not mandatory. Any micro sd card will be sufficient.

Put in my 512mb micro sd and it won't fit Zelda, please send help

this one has Mario Kart on it

    • +1

On the box (for the confused neggars)

  • OP, the Nintendo card is a U3 card. The speed advertised is pretty good (100MBps Read / 90MBps Write).

The other two you are comparing it with are U1 cards and would have a much slower Write speed.

    • +8

Switch only supports UHS-1, so anything more is wasted.

      • +1

Sorry I should have clarified: For other purposes than using it with a Switch.

I find it a decent card for 4K cameras for example, or upcoming 4K 60fps drones where Write speed is important.

        • Most definitely, ran into that exact problem recently, for recording video (even just 1080P), the faster the better.

        • @TomTom12:

I havent been able to do an in-depth comparison but it seems like the card in the OP is pretty much the same as a SanDisk 128GB Extreme U3 A1 V30?

If so, it is in fact a pretty good deal at that price.

You seem to be comparing U3 with UHS-I. They aren't the same thing.

U3 is how fast you can write to the card.

UHS-I is the electrical interface. UHS-I is the standard one we are all familiar with. UHS-II cards have a second row of contacts, see the picture: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital#/media/File:Lex…

    • Ahh sorry about that.. I was thinking about this from the perspective of a Switch owner. As for digital video recording i cant see 128 gig being reasonable enough for recording video. But still great point you make and one im glad you made.

Theres a 64gb one at $49 too thats still up on discount.

  • +3

Looks like a great price for a U3 card if you specifically need one.

It's funny. Most Switch users will probably opt for the non-branded, whereas these branded ones will be more useful for other devices.

  • +1

Why would you bother with a Nintendo branded one, you're paying extra for nothing.

  • -8

No deal, got a 128gb u3 for less than half this price from ozb recently. Be smarter with your money, sheeple.

    • Any examples? A quick search shows all above $50 AUD except one that was a price error.

      • Probably referring to the low $30 Samsung Evo+ 128GB MicroSD card deals rather than SanDisk.
I've picked up 2 in the last couple weeks for around $30.

        Try a tad harder

        • +2

          "I got it cheaper."

          "Where?"

          "Try harder."

This community isn't for you mate.

@Mahogany Granger: you are in a website that share deals and when people ask you about which deal and you just shut them off.

If you are only here to receive and have no plans to give back, stfu.

    OMG MARIO……3=>…… SPLAT

To be fair you could get a non Nintendo branded sdcard for cheaper.

Sorta defeats the purpose of the "deal".

    • Not really. Some people enjoy having branded items just because. Let them do their thing while we reap the benefits of the cheaper ones.

      • It's literally the same card as the normal one but stamped differently. Shrugs.

        • Yeah and Coles products are just the manufacturer brands with a different label. People still prefer the brand name though.

  • Shows original price now. 95$ or whatever

  • Would be tots worth if it came with Mario Kart preinstalled.
