I have tried the Bluetooth transmitter/receiver and found it particularly useful. With both optical/SPDIF IN & OUT I can leave it connected to my surround sound system for receiving music from my phone and also connected to my Xbox One for transmitting sound to my Bluetooth headphones. I have it plugged into a USB port on my Xbox to power it. I can't recommend this enough.

    Well posted OP.

  • +2

Silly question maybe but how do you pair the BT rx/tx with a speaker if both have no screen or just a button?

    • +2

https://youtu.be/gVLUyrzDCig - I have their cheaper product featured in this video. I imagine it's the same with this product. It's pretty straightforward really. Happens automatically really once both devices are put into pairing mode

    • +1

As FunbagsOfSatan said, you just place both devices into pairing mode. It's really easy.

      • +1

        Thanks both :)

      • What's the AA battery for? Said it requires a AA battery in the specs table (or is that mistake?)

        • That would be a mistake, it has a built-in battery.

    • Very good question. I have a different brand BT transmitter receiver. The damn thing won't even connect to my BT headphone in TX mode

  • +2

Anyone with experience using this Bluetooth transmitter/receiver with wireless headphones to a tv? Mainly worried about audio sync issues and would love to know other people’s experiences. Some reviews seem to indicate sync issues and others are good…

    • I haven't used it to watch Television, but have used it frequently with my Xbox and have noticed no issues.

      • +1

Would this enable microphone functionality to work over Bluetooth w/ Xbox?

        • +1

          Good question.

I am not actually sure, I don't do multiplayer so I haven't been able to try.

          I'm sorry I can't be more help.

        • I don't think it would as I don't believe it can transmit and receive at the same time. For an Xbox mic to work, it either needs to be plugged into the controller or used with a USB dongle for wireless headsets.

    • +3

Works great, using to watch TV paired with TaoTronics Active Noise Cancelling Bluetooth Headphones.
No Sync issues encountered. Purchased both items in previous deal, use daily, couldn't be happier.

    • I haven't used this unit. I have an Avantree Saturn Pro that I pair with a Plantronics Backbeat Pro headset and I don't have sync issues. The headphones have to support the AptX Low Latency codec otherwise connection reverts to the SBC codec and you will experience lag.

      • Any idea if the microphone works with that setup?

        • Microphone?

        • @AlbyDuck: Mic for chat with Xbox. Sounds like you haven't, no probs.

        • @Raynes: Ok. I think I see what you mean. The box is set to be a transmitter or a receiver. It can't be both at the same time, so I think the answer is no. Anyway, xev (a couple of posts up) uses it with an xbox so you could check with him.

        • I donot know what headphones youre using but you could use a 3 pin 3.5mm cable to the pin that your headphones support and plug the cable in to the controller to enable chat.

  • +1

Thanks OP. The BT receiving/transmitter was just what I was looking for. I'll use it at home and on the plane. A bit bulky for the plane but it will do the job nicely.

    • The TOSLINK feature is pretty useless for a portable device, it makes it bulky. It would be great if the rep can do a deal on the cheaper more portable model.

    • The device is quite small, it is approx 60x60x17mm. So small enough to keep in a pocket. Then you just need a cord to whatever your receiving/transmitting.

    • +1

I'm thinking to use it on the plane too with my wireless ANC headphones

But what about powering this transmitter? Looks like it's not a portable unit, hence no built-in battery. Powerbank?

EDIT: Re-read the description. Does come with built in battery. 15 hours streaming. Good stuff OP. Bought!

      • +1

Yes, this one has a built-in battery, it should last up to 15 hours.

You can also charge it while it is in use.

    • What device would you use on the plane that doesn't already have Bluetooth?

      • The in-flight entertainment system. Making it much easier to manouvre around especially when the person sitting next to you needs toilet breaks often but decides not to get an aisle seat.

  • +2

Re: the Bluetooth transmitter/receiver. Note that AptX low-latency only applies in transmitting mode. If you were hoping to use two of these units together with your wired headset to watch tv with low-latency audio, it's not going to happen.

  • are the taotronics bluetooth headphones the same as the soundpeats?

  • Would it be possible to receive a discount code for the TaoTronics Active Noise Canceling headphones (TT-BH22).

    • +6

I'll send through a request and see what I can do.

      • Headphone + wireless receiver would be a nice combo for a deal

      • Thanks!

    • If the OP can do this, I will combine (x2) with the Bluetooth Transmitter and Receiver.

  • OP, what is the model number of the earphones?

    • found it. BH27. Thanks OP. got one.

    • +1

No, these are the TT-BH027. The BH07 don't seem to be available here yet.

You can see a product comparison on the Amazon US page for the BH07 here

As others have pointed out, both the transmitter and the receiving headphones need to have aptX technology (ideally the highest spec - aptX HD) to reduce audio lag, to near not-noticeable levels.

Audio bypass capability is desirable too (to connect to external speakers via cable, even when driving Bluetooth headphones)

Advanced transmitters can be dual link - driving two Bluetooth headphones simultaneously.

They can boast ridiculous transmission range too- 164 ft, with certain Avantree models

    • Is this thing APTXHD?

      The manual only says SBC/APTX

      No mention of HD anywhere.

    • Most of the dual link ones I've seen don't do aptx when driving two headphones. You'd go for AptX LL (low latency) if latency is important. Not sure what the latency on the HD variant is like.

    • +1

Not right now, but I will send a request through. :)

      I would like them myself.

      • Keep us posted!!

    • Currently available for a great price!

  • I need head/earphoneswith aptx low latency to watch tv. Currently i connect TV to Alexa via bluetooth and then plug in my wired headphones to it. It's not great but bearable. What are other ozbargainers using?

    • Oasis Plus and NURAphones for a pretty good aptx HD {dual headphone} experience.

      • TV already has bluetooth audio streaming so i just need bluetooth headphones with APTX LL. Casual tv watching so don't want to spend much

  • Last time I tried converting my wired headphones to wireless by plugging in a Bluetooth receiver, the quality was atrocious, and barely usable. I think I need to get a better receiver than can drive the headphones properly. (ATH M50x)

    • You are doing it so wrong

  • BT transmitter with Toslink?
I am soooo getting this. Thx OP.

  • Is connecting two devices a feature of this device or BT4.1 in general? Does it work for both TX and RX?

I currently have two separate BT receivers feeding into a passive audio mixer and this is probably a stretch but I'm hoping this could replace it.

    • The ones I've seen that transmit to two devices have been transmitter-only. Also, the ones I've seen fall back to SBC when transmitting to two devices. Not to say that those devices aren't out there…

  • Any discounts for smaller receiver/transmitter like last deal.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/393519

  • Can you connect 2 pairs of Bluetooth headsets at once to this device?

    • +1

I had the same question, how many bluetooth headphone/earphones can you connect to it?

      • You can connect two.

    • Yes, you can connect 2 headphones or speakers at the same time. No problems.

    Hi Xev
Is there any more stock for the Bluetooth transmitter? I'm only getting a 49.99 option which doesn't let me apply the promo code

    • +1

Thanks for letting me know, it looks like they have sold out again.

As soon as they get more stock I'll arrange for a new code.

      • +1

        Thank you!

    • Hi ericshurn, There is a limited amount back in stock.

  • +2

$25 for 9 hour battery life bluetooth earphones? Yep. You got me. Just lost my $200 pair a few weeks ago.

Good deal thanks. Hope the sound quality is decent.

  • The battery on my headphones has lost it's capacity - about 2 hours max now.
Almost at the stage of complaining to Taotronics about it but was thinking not worth the trouble as I bought it from Amazon US.
Going back shortly to USA might take it with me and see what they say.

    • Hi wildbill, I have contacted Sunvalley and it's all sorted out :)

Can you please send me a private message with your email so I can forward it on to them.

      • Sent - thanks

        • Can't fault Taotronics/Sunvalley AU - they have offered me a replacement even though as stated above I got it from Amazon US.
          Just waiting for details.

    Currently unavailable.
We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock.

    • Thanks for letting us know.

Stay Tuned. There will be a great sale coming up shortly. :)

Anyone's earphones come completely discharged? A bit annoying because that's bad for battery life :(

    • Same - Was quite excited to try it out and pair it up. But charged overnight and tested the following day worked perfectly fine and great quality for the price.

  • Completely charged headset before I went to bed. Played one song to test it out and then turned the unit off. The unit will not power on (didn't hold charge over night). What's the warranty process like? I knew it was fishy that the unit came completely discharged…

    • +1

Hi, I am very sorry that there has been an issue.

Can you please send me a private message with your email address and I will make sure it is sorted out for you. :)

  • Anyone have issues pairing it with PXC550? It working fine with my other bluetooth receiver (MPOW).

  • +1

Received TT-BA09 a couple days ago. Solved all my problem for audio connections and the TOS link is a huge bonus now I can directly output PS4 audio, and great quality too btw. Loving it. Might consider buying another one.

    Thx OP.

  • Newbie question here. Seriously considering the TT-BA09. I have a few quality wired headphone and sometimes just want to use them to watch TV at late night.

Do I need to get 2 of the TT-BA09, plug one to the TV and another one to my wired headphone and I am set?

Also I am trying to save a few bux. Can I get the TT-BA07 instead https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B01EHSX28M? If I would like to use Optical TOS link on the TV for better quality, can I mix and match a BA07 (headphone) with a BA09 (TV)?

And finally can I buy just 1 device then pair with an smartphone then plug the headphone to the smartphone to listen?

    • Honestly, I think the best option would be to go for the BT transmitter and Bluetooth headphones as well, it would be simpler, less cumbersome and you would be able to use the BT Headphones with other Bluetooth devices as well.

      • I thought about that and the TT-BH22 is reasonably priced.

I have a few quality headphones like the HiFiMan Sundara thanks to my brother who is an audiophile so just dont want to waste them

  • +1

    It should.

Yup, BA09 in transmitter mode for the TV.

Not sure what you trying to achieve there. Maybe you meant by plug the headphone to BT receiver? Then yes.

    • Thanks Yummy. I understand I need at least one BA09 in TX mode for the TV.

As I have wired headphone, for the receiving end:
      1. Can I use an Android/iOS device with built in Bluetooth as the receiver then plug the headphone in to listen?
      2. If 1 is not possible, can I purchase a BA07 to use in RX mode as the receiver and plug the headphone in to listen?
      3. If both 1 and 2 are not possible, can I purchase a BA09 to use in RX mode as the receiver and plug the headphone in to listen (I believe you said yes this is possible)

        1. Not sure if this would work, I don't think BT on mob meant for that. Maybe connecting to PC, stream audio from there? You might need a specialize app for it.

        2. Yup. It has Rx and Tx switch from the look of it. I don't have 07 tho.

        3. Yup.

        • I just found out that none of the BA0X support low latency in receiver mode so it wont work for me

  • +1

    Hi guys,

I know this deal is expired but I just have to say that I am extremely impressed how this mob has handled defective units. Got my unit replaced in no time. Thanks a lot :)
