I was thinking about buying this microwave but upon reading product reviews I changed my mind. It seems that the problems with this model is something about arcing door and burned plastic parts of the door, link.
That's not even the same model.
The version you have linked is the old version with the digital clock at the top. This is a newly released replacement for that older model.
Ok, thx
Does this have a grill/oven functionality?
No, it doesnt have a grill/oven function as it is not a convection microwave oven. Only normal microwave with inverter technology. Just picked one up yesterday. Appears to be working great though.
Thanks for your inputs!
Appliances online are happy to attempt to pricematch have 24/7 customer service and will deliver and dispose of your old microwave. Support this awesome business. (not affiliated but have had awesome experience with KitchenAid deal and recently got a microwave from them)
Well they could have cancelled it but now a ton of family and friends have asked about the KitchenAid and I told them the story. W They all use appliances online now a print ad or TV ad costs way more than 100k So I think it was a very smart move. Turned a negative into a positive I'm really happy with them.
I can't believe that deal only had 78 upvotes. This site surprises me at times.
Probably because there's alternatives available for <$200, even if they are slightly lower quality… Simple fact is a motor + some plastic /= $700 worth.
It's basically the unofficial first rule of Ozbargain - just because it's x% off retail, doesn't make it a bargain.
Was waiting for a deal on the LG NeoChef but decided to jump on this instead, thanks OP!
Let us know how it holds up ;)
Any good deals on Convection Microwave ?
Got one. Thanks OP
$35 delivery kills it for me. No stock for pickup. :_(
Have you tried buying it thru ebay as others have suggested? cheers
On ebay,
Postage to 0832
AU $107.09:_(
Is there a harvey Norman nearby with stock? Same boat for me and I got it price matched via online live chat.
Give that a go?
$170 + $5 postage if buying via Good Guys on ebay :)
Plus 5% off on the PENNY 5 code
$35 postage for me in QLD.
Don't forget the PENNY5 code on ebay for a further 5% off and eBay cash rewards!!
$161.50 if you buy via ebay and use 'PENNY5' and select pick-up. Not sure if cashrewards will stack on it too.
Why not?
i thought i read somewhere that if you used a discount code in ebay, it negated the CR rebate.
It's a listed coupon so it's fine
@TarquinOliverNimrod:
Cheers,Looks like i've ended up paying $159.80
Pretty good timing as our current microwave was pretty much dead :)
After sever weeks of research I ended up getting a $99 1100w Microwave from Kmart. Apart from the display it's almost identical to a Sanyo that lasted me 10 years. I only replaced the Sanyo because the button stuck a but and then the light died.
Even Sanyo isn't same anymore. Good luck if it'll last 3 years now.
Is there someone out there who has been using this model for a while and can vouch for its quality? Also, OP should add cash rewards and ebay deal to make this deal even sweeter cheers
I can't order through Ebay, error codes: Something went wrong. Please try to check out again.
Error codes: 70049 70084
Anyone else getting this??
PS: same error when using a CC so not Paypal….
**** It was the store I was nominating for pick up, I guess for pick ups only Baywaters and Brighton are now available, chose Bays and paid $161.50 + cash rewards, thanks all!!!
I got the same error last night, went into Bankstown because it showed up as having stock but they were all gone this morning. Was able to lock in the price $170 and was told it would be a 1-2 week wait for them to backfill it
The R350EW looks identical apart from being white instead of stainless steel. It's slightly cheaper at $164.

White model: https://www.sharp.net.au/home-products/microwaves/r350ew-1The marketing blurb is just about identical, and the tech specs are 100% identical.
Ta. Easier to keep clean too.
Thanks, grabbed one from the Bayswater store pickup via ebay for $161.50 with penny5
Is the fan in this thing supposed to be noisy as all heck??
A lot of the new models in SHARP and Panasonic have a self cooling function where it will try and draw all the excess heat out after the heating process is complete, perfectly normal.
Vendor in title please.
