How do we know it isn't the same chipset used in the low end DAB+ radios in a bigger case and twice the price? Are there any audio specs for it, frequency response, S/N ratio, etc?
Well it has S/PDIF output for starters…try finding that on anything!
Having said that, there's a good chance it is the same chipset as in the "cheapies", becasue there is very little demand in the world for DAB+ chipsets.. Australia is one of the few countries using the DAB+ specification for Digital Radio.
It's actually not a bad price for a component system with Digital output.
Even the Jaycar DAB+ Kit is $200 and you have to assemble it yourself!
I've voted positive moreso because I think people have pulled the trigger on Negative a bit quick.
Frankly, I don't see the point in DAB+. Sound quality is no better than FM from what I've read, Seems to be aimed only at converting AM listeners to a better service, or people who want more "channels".
