Telstra tickets are $12.50 each. You can get a $2 SIM and activate a Telstra account if you're not already a customer.

    https://www.telstra.com.au/thanks

    • If you go to the cinema less frequently, the vrewards deal works out cheaper as you don’t need to keep buying a new sim if you forget the account details or the sim expires.

    • currently u can get the sim for free delivered

      • That’s great for some people, not everyone. It takes at least 24 hours to link a new Telstra pre-paid service to the Telstra thanks program - that’s after you’ve received and activated the sim. Not great if you want to see a movie tonight.

This vrewards deal is good for those who don’t want those hassles and want a significant discount on a ticket straight away.

        • So you're saying I have to wait a maximum of one week to have a lifetime of savings? Ain't nobody got time for that!

Telstra Rewards isn't available for night sessions or pulic holidays, this deal is available any time.

$15 is hardly a bargain, more like a small discount

especially with Telstra, and other discount schemes

At my local cinema the standard adult ticket price is $21, so it’s a $7 discount, which is pretty decent. All for joining a free movie club.

That’s only $2.50 more than a telstra ticket that requires an active Telstra service and has restrictions on it (can’t use on Saturday nights, for example).

      • +4

Agreed! $15 for a Saturday night ticket is better than any of the current discounts available I think.

        • This is true, but realistically + the booking fee and having to buy across multiple accounts unless you’re going by yourself.

Cool, price is relative. My local cinema is 7.50 for members (10 buck sign up per year, includes a "free" ticket), and 9 for anyone else at any time, any session.

Therefore, for me to travel farther to get to Village, to go out of my way to get a "discount" to pay only double what I could there, well, it's not really much of a deal for me, is it?

But again, price is relative and that's my whole point. Comparing it to your setup, it may be a deal, and to mine, it clearly isn't. Point of all this? Subjective area based pricing matters a whole deal when it comes to the individual.

Also, $7 off $21 is $14, not $15. Just, you know.

Totally agree. Price is relative to what other offers are available to you at the time. That’s why I was stating why the offer I posted might be attractive to others who don’t have the Telstra offer available to them at a convenient time. I’m glad you have such a cheap local cinema to go to; that kind of thing isn’t available anywhere near me.

Wow .. max 1 ticket per session plus booking fee .. might be worthwhile putting in all the other terms and conditions ..

    • Thanks, updated.

ERGH… that is a really nasty sting in the tail. Man, booking fees for cinemas are the worst. They should just build it into the ticket price upfront.

  • +6

can't believe a booking fee at the cinema is still a thing.

it's an absolute disgrace - in fact it's just as bullshit as (profanity) credit card surcharges, i'm furious … it's like the $5 ticket over the other day at Palace PLUS $1.50 booking, Gold Class bookings are like $5 booking… i mean a (profanity) fee to book on my own mobile device, get (profanity) you (profanity).

      • -2

And yet you continue to give money to them.

Thanks for posting, I can't be bothered stuffing around with Telstra so this is excellent.

  • You can get two $11 tickets anytime by signing up with a new email and completing your profile

  • is this cheaper than tuesday session?

    • It looks like Village removed cheap days and weekly member movies.

      • In saying that, I've just checked my local and an 8:30PM session tonight is $17. Not quite as cheap as cheap Tuesdays, but at least it's not squeezing everyone in on the same night.
