Have one of these. In recent Perth weather it still holds, but bends and folds with the strong winds. Obviously a bigger and reinforced umbrella is better.

I bought 2 for my little ones, they do the job well, easy to dry and perfect size to be placed in school bags. meaning no longer I will have to pull out a wet stinky mounded umbrella from a school bag. The only complaint is lack of corlour options, seems only the black ones are available but I actually seen some other corlours been sold within mainland of China.

auto open is the selling pitch,
means. can be opened with one hand if you are carrying a bag and don’t want to put it down on the wet ground.
to close still needs to be pushed to load the opening spring.
