Seems like a pretty good deal, when compared with the comments on this older thread: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/16864

I've been looking for one for a while, and considering the excellent service I had when purchasing some fans from this webiste (oo) recently, I'm definitely happy to buy from them again.

How many AMPS is a bolt of lightning ???

    • more, power boards can't protect against lightning

      • Belkin boards have a thermal fuse and is probably the closest one would get to lightning protection. (At $100 more.)

    • +1

no power board will protect you from a direct lighting strike!

I have several of these boards, they are good quality, the main difference between these and the expensive one's in shops is these don't have any protected equipment insurance.

This one also has higher ratings than many of the one's available instore.

Here is the same board(different brand) with protected equipment warranty @ $150 http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/ballarat/store/ProductDisplay?…

      • Claim from your electricity supplier. Why bother paying extra.

    • Don't forget 1+ billion joules :)

      About 1.21 Gigawatts.

  • Nicely spaced, can fit plug packs easily.

  • +1

Just need individual switch and it will be a good deal..

  • I dont know about this electrical stats, but is this seen as a safe powersurge?

Wasn't there a similar post a couple months back with an 8 switch powerboard for the same price or maybe less?

  • The good ones generally have some insurance attached this one doesn't seem too, + on the plug spacing the biggest issue I have with my curreent ones is trying to fit all the power packs in

  • The should make these with USB power ports to reduce how many things you need to plug in…

    • You can always buy a powered USB hub.

Or use things which already have a USB port
My TV has a usb port which i never use so I charge my phone form it. It means i do not need to worry about plugging/unplugging my phone charger. It is just as continent as leaving my phone charger always plugged in however only uses power when I am charging my phone

  • I have 4 of these all purchase 12 months ago, I have burnt out the AC switch in 2 of them, clearly the weak link in the design.

  • for anyone in greater brisbane area, they can get the free ezygreen green power board http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/28372 (but it takes 6+ weeks to get delivered). you also get a $50 off voucher towards an energy efficient white goods purchase at the good guys.
