Looking for a low cost A4 Scanner with Sheet Feeder

My daughter wants an A4 scanner for her school work. It will be mostly for scanning multiple single-sided printed A4 sheets, so a sheet feeder would make things easier. No need for photos.

Canon is normally my goto brand for easy to use scanners, but this is a short term requirement, so I'm looking for something with a lower price.

The idea occurred to me that maybe one of those multi-function printers that seem to pop up for not many dollars from time to time might work for her. She won't use the printing facilities.

So, does anyone know which of brand/model of these type of (MFC?) printers works well as a sheet feeding scanner?

    If it's a short-term requirement then check Gumtree and Freecycle - heaps of MFC's given away for free.

    I know this post is a few months old now, but I had a similar scanning requirement, and eventually found a used Fujitsu ScanSnap s1300i on Gumtree. The software isn't the easiest to use, but the results are excellent. Has a sheet feeder, and scans one or both sides at once.
