Why do you always post this. People drink almond milk as a substitute for bovine milk, get over it.
It's not milk. It's a milk substitute.
I wouldnt even call it a milk substitute, just cause something is a similar color and watery, doesnt make it a substitute, as they have entirely different nutritional information.
I wouldnt even call it a milk substitute
It's definitely not milk…
Maybe call it Almond Juice.
@jv: someone like yourself should know that juice is the liquid from a fruit/vegetable which an almond is not, hence would be just as distressed by that labelling too.
juice is the liquid from a fruit/vegetable which an almond is not
Haven't you ever been asked for some nut juice????
jvs the type of person to tell people that it's not peanut butter because there's no butter or it's not sweet potato since it's not a proper potato.
jv is the kind of person no one likes nor strives to be
i think it has 3% almond in it
the rest are sugars and water
Governments are starting to ban these things being labelled "milk"
http://uk.businessinsider.com/fda-wants-ban-on-soy-and-nut-m…FDA and UK first .. maybe our DAF is next …
Colour me surprised the proponent for the ban comes from the National Milk Producers Federation. What do people actually think almond milk is if not a plant milk?
if not a plant milk?
You can't get milk from a plant…. Only from a mammal. Biology 101.
@jv:
You're milking this post for all it's worth, does that make it a mammal?
Because he's trolling people like you because it works. Just ignore it and he'll derive no satisfaction from being an idiot - he'll still be one, but without the successful trolling.
That’s a bit rude. Lack of sleep????
$1 is so cheap; don't think I've ever seen it this cheap. Will be stocking up.
Merged from Lavazza Nespresso Compatible Coffee Capsules Pk 10 - $3 @ Woolworths
Go to Deal
Nespresso compatible capsules, normally $7/box and usually only seen at half price so this is one of the cheapest prices it will pop up at. I normally stock up a stackload of boxes as expiry dates are approx 1 year and my household goes through 2-3 capsules per day. I find that the higher intensity (9-10) will get snapped up the quickest.
IMO it's not as nice as Nespresso's capsules but for $0.30c/capsule vs $0.68-$0.78/capsule, it makes this a cheaper caffeine hit for those who like using their Nespresso machines. It's also cheaper than Coles/Woolworths own brand capsules $0.37/capsule and other brands even when they are half price.
Please no environmental debates or debates on why using a machine to grind your own beans taste better or cheaper to use instant coffee. I think people who buy a Nespresso machine are after the convenience and time saving factor and have already considered these.
Are these compatible with the Aldi machines?
Nope, completely different size. Aldi uses the K-Fee type pods (MAP/Caffitaly/some Woolworths). Pretty sure they filter differently too.
Dont buy this stff. Contains carrageenan When most other almonds milks dont.
carrageenan (google will tell you)
"a family of linear sulfated polysaccharides"
It sounds terrible.
See, told you… Google knows whats up
Thanks for enlightening us Rep…
@jv:
Wow, im finally google rep!… Thats like my dream job/pay. Thanks jv
It has dihydrogen monoxide in it as well!
carrageenan
is extracted from seaweed and may have therapeutic properties.
and may have therapeutic properties.
and may not
Scary words! Oh noes!
Undegraded carrageenan is fine. Degraded carrageenan has vague links to bad stuff in rats (but not pigs). The undegraded stuff is what they put in almond milk.
Honestly, if you're this worried about what you eat - stop eating. Ever wondered where those free radicals that antioxidants supposedly fight come from? Oxygen.
Unless you're drinking a 6 pack a night or smoking a pack a day, just eat right and exercise and don't worry about strange sounding chemicals in your almond milk.
On a serious note though, I've found Breeze has less almond %, splits easily in hot drinks and the chocolate one apparently uses dutch cocoa (the process, not country).
It does however froth up very well though… Tough decision!! 😂
Cheap almond milk. But from memory they're American. Prefer the Aussie brands to support local jobs.
