Hmm Blackvue 750s 2ch + Magic Pro = 468.293 (after discount). Then add on installation fee (for those who wants it). I'm sure i've seen it posted cheaper here? or am i wrong?

    • I think it's cheapest local stock. It's been $351 for just the camera, but that was from overseas https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/357849. I just searched Blackvue 750s in the search bar.

    • For those in Victoria and want to get accessories, Autobarn Ringwood is having a 30% off everything sale and so you could either get it there or perhaps get Autobarn to match.

Apparently the accessories like the Blackvue Power Magic Pro is not part of the 25% off.

  • Saw the end of the TV advertisement tonight. Pretty sure there was something mentioned about roof racks also. Can anyone confirm?

  • Does anyone know if the Magic Pro or Magic Pro Battery is better? I don’t want my battery to be constantly drained…

    • +1

I have the Magic Pro and have had no issues with battery management. There is a special voltage sensor which will stop the dash cam of it senses a low car battery charge if you are worried about that.
That being said, if parking the car for a few weeks, I would probably pull out the plug in the dash cam.

        Sounds good, thanks!

        • I'm hoping to get a deal tomorrow similar to your last one-

          $419.30 750S-2CH (includes the 30% off deal)
          * $35 Power Magic Pro (Normally $69.95)
          * $80 Installation (Normally $100)

        • @Spizz: Where do you get installation costs from?

        • -1

          @Levathian:

          Another thread.

        • +1

@Spizz: it was my original post from last year when I got that Blackvue dash cam. The installation cost was originally $120 at Camberwell (VIC) Autobarn (for two channel install) but the guy dropped it down to $100 for me.

Looking at the Kenwood DDX9018DABS …was looking to pick it up during the 25% off ebay plus sale when it was $780. Based on the current price of $1099 i'll save myself another $10.70 if its reduced 30% ;)

  • Is this online or in store only?

  • How do I justify buying the ALPINE ILX-F309E HALO 9 for a 2005 Mazda 3 lol

    • Just buy it. Cry later

480P WVGA screen and single USB input, save your money!

      • Damn, good advice… didn't even check screen res, would of assumed it'd be higher than 480p.
        Forget that model then :(

Okay so just called around. Was told discount is only on the camera and not the accessories. So Magic pro and memory cards not included in the discount as they are accessories, though one store said it would be $59 for the Magic Pro and another store said they could order in the 128GB version and honour the discount if paid for tomorrow.

    DR750S-2CH 16GB- $419.30
    DR900S-2CH 16GB- $538.30

Also given installation figures ranging from $150-$200 depending on the store. This is for SA.

    • Is the different versions just the memory card? Could we buy our own cards?

Apologies if stupid question. Wasn't aware there is different versions

      • +2

If you go aftermarket cards apparently alot of them just die going by the Whirlpool forum, even the Samsung EVO, hence why I am looking at the Blackvue cards.

        https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2626517&…

        • Thanks

The 900s is not on their website. I guess I will need to go to the stores and ask them to order it. Is that what they told you?

        • @dailek:

Most stores have the 900s in stock. Tip. Go first thing in the morning before they sell out.

      • The two different versions are to different camera models. Both with a 16GB card. If I were you I would get the 16gb memory stick ones and then throw it away and buy at the next eBay sale a 128gb Lexar 633x micro SD card instead. I got mine for $90 during a 10% off sale. Probably has gone down in price since. Haven’t checked though.

        • Hi danielh- as per the whirlpool thread I'm getting a Blackvue 128gb stick. To many cards dying from other brands.

        • @Spizz: Do some more googling on this. The Lexar ones I mentioned above are found to be great with the blackvue and I can personally vouch for the 128gb card I use in my 750.

    • Hey which store was the 128 version? I am going away for the weekend so I would like and to pay today.

      • Only tomorrow. You need to ring around.

  • Whats a good camera under around the $200 mark that wont over heat and fry in the car?

  • Hmm. Best mid-top end dual cam setup? Always considered one but can't justify the cost over just paying my excess. 🤷‍♂️

Other than proving someone else at fault.

Any recommendations or have things not really changed in the dash cam market place.

Also, can't see the thinkware equivalent in a dual setup and not going to be able to make it in store at all. 😔

  • I just called Autobarn Mile End and they just told me that they excluded the blackvue cameras from the sale…

Edit: I called churchill and they did not comment about that, however they said that the pricing will be available online.

    • They are incorrect.

      • It is even listed on their own website that Blackvue is included in the sale.

        • True, but these are franchises aren't they. Website says store stock only.

At mile end the owner can conveniently say, sorry no stock, just for today

        • @docians:

I ended up buying online from Churchill. Mile End did not have stock according to website.

Don't forget to show your Velocity Card to get 2 points per $.

  • Nice find!

  • Is it worth buying a engine oil yourself and getting the mechanic to use your own oil or will they charge the same price for putting oil in your car?

  • +1

Is it worth paying extra to get the 900?

  • Prices haven't changed for me yet?

    • Not online, but store stock only

  • Prices are up online

  • anyone else able to see all the items on sale? Most seem to have dropped off the website?

EDIT….went back to a previous visited page..just looks like they have removed items from being searchable.

  • Was going to get this head unit but found it is cheaper at supercheap auto even with the 30% off https://www.autobarn.com.au/me24898
Also the mounting kit is not discounted and is more expensive than the head unit :( do they ever have sales for aerpro?

Got the 750s and PMP, both 30% off. $468 total

    • The power magic pro isnt discounted online, is it in the store??

      • Ok, I called as my click and collect is ready in store they have the 30% off for the PMP, not online though.

      • Technically it's not included but the staff did it anyway.

        • Nicely done. How much was install?

        • @Spizz: they quoted $180 but I'll shop around. I have an impreza with eyesight so it's probably a bit more complex.

        • Went to the store…nope, wont do it for the PMP.
Told me on the phone that morning, but apparently not when I went in there. Wasnt happy.

They said $250 to do a Santa Fe with the 2ch to install….I'll shop around - grab the PMP with the 20% signup discount later once back in stock

        • @Encify:

          that sux
I went in, told them that Ringwood opened and they were doing a 25% off sitewide, they happily agreed to price match
they didn't budge on installation though, still $150

        • @Encify: that sucks. I went to the one at Slacks Creek and they were happy to reduce the price of the PMP too. Looking at my receipt the cam had been reduced in the system while the PMP was full price with an additional discount applied by staff. Very happy.

        • @Levathian: They would only do %20 on PMP (after I complained that I called in before arriving to confirm the 30% would apply to the PMP also), but would have to order it in - figured I would just use the sign up discount once they were in stock closer to home.
Now to find an installer in Sydney :)

    • Can vouch for this I also got 30% for both 750s and pmp.
I think it will depend on the store manger if they decide to include pmp as part of today deal.

      • Any store in Victoria please? Could you tell so I could price match, thanks

        • Try Chadstone

        • Camberwell Autobarn is normally $120 dual channel install and $100 single channel.

        • @danielh:

Sadly 32km away from me. Not worth the $30 saving factoring my travel time would be like 45min each way. Plus I'd have to hang out there while they install it, I'd lose half a day to save $30.

And like I mentioned my local Autobarn pricematched the battery pack but would not match installation

  • +1

    I got 750s and pmp for 30% off + $160 for installation

  • Just got mine as well. Was going to go 900s but the night performance put me off.
Got the 750s-2ch 30% off and the magic pro at only 20% off, install was $200.
