Front & Rear Cameras

The BlackVue DR750S two-channel dash camera has your car’s surroundings covered. Mount the main camera to the front windshield to record the road ahead in full HD 1080p video at 60 frames per second. Mount the rear camera to the back car window to record the road behind in full HD video at 30 fps. The two cameras are connected with a coaxial cable and record to the same microSD card. They have image sensors for clarity in low light and a wide 139-degree view angle. The dash cam detects impacts and sudden changes in speed while driving, and also detects movement while parked. For parked mode recording, the optional Power Magic Pro hardwiring kit is required. Built-in Wi-Fi allows you to connect with the dash cam via the free BlackVue app.

Note: This drop’s base price is for the camera. At checkout, you’ll have the option to add the Power Magic Pro (+ $25).

Keep buying cheaper separate ones, but this seems like an easy solution.

Yeah same, can't go past a cheap dashcam. Now I have 3 cheapos in my car (2 G1W-CB and a 70mai) because I'm a surveillance state.

      • I had to replace all of my g1w-cb's and non-c, had one blow a fuse in my wife's car and the others stopped recording at random times. QLD heat must of killed them :(

Replaced all 4 with xiaomi Yi dash cameras.

  • That's cheap ! Bought from them before OP ?
    How's the warranty like ?

    • I have not bought from them before, I haven't bit the bullet on this deal yet.

There is no mention on the product page of manufacturer warranty. The chat on the discussion page says 1yr from vendor or 1 yr from blackvue but nothing concrete. Search for warranty on that discussion page.

Massdrop's Terms & Conditions are a bit weak, they say 30 days.

      RETURN POLICY - EFFECTIVE JANUARY 3, 2017

Some products purchased on Massdrop come with a manufacturer's warranty. These products will have the manufacturer warranty listed on the drop page.

Products purchased on Massdrop that do not come with a manufacturer's warranty will be subject to a 30-day return policy detailed below.

In the event a product exhibits a manufacturing defect or arrives damaged, Massdrop will allow members to return their product for a full refund. The issue must be reported to Massdrop Support no more than 30 days after the item is received. Claims submitted beyond this 30-day period will not be eligible for return.

      No replacements will be sourced.

      • Pay using PayPal and you have 180 days of lemon protection don't you?

  • Good deal OP. Anyone know if hardwiring this will void a car warranty? (Mazda in particular please)

    • +1

They wouldn't know but even then probably not. There's no soldering or anything. You just get an add a fuse thing and crimp. You can take it back off easily.

      • Sounds reasonable, cheers.

I have a mazda, serviced at Mazda. I have had a hard wired 2 channel Blackvue installed for about 3 years. No dramas. Once or twice they have disconnected the power at the unit on the front windscreen but that's it. As mentioned above, use and add-a-fuse and you can't go wrong. If your car uses i-Stop you might wamt to also consider the Blackvue Power Magic Pro to stop the voltage dropping too low on your car battery. Probably only a problem if you don't drive your car too often.

        • @elguapo: Very helpful, thanks!

I recently installed a DR650S in a 2010 Mazda 6. The "add-a-fuse" went into the fuse block in the passenger foot well. The only problem is that the Mazda 6 uses the low profile mini fuses and the add-a-fuse won't sit in the fuse socket because the fuse itself sits below the top of the fuse block. I had to shave plastic off the add-a-fuse where it plugs into the fuse socket to make it stay there and even then it does not sit tightly. The fuse block cover may be helping to stop it falling out and it has been working OK for a month now. All the add-a-fuse thingys are the same so they all have this problem…I looked at a few and bought two from Chai Nah as well to see if any were better/worse than local stuff. Nope, all the same. (probably all come from Chai Nah anyway) The fuse block in the engine bay uses the same fuses so no difference trying to run the power from the engine bay.

      • You just saved me a lot of money and hassle thanks a million!

  • I have never heard about Massdrop. Are they reliable?
    Thanks.

Yes, it's like Kickstarter for already created products. So always check when it is due to be delivered. Can be months lead time to get the product.

    • I'm addict to Massdrop. Excellent site. Just check the estimated shipping date as they may need a few to be manufactured before shipping.

Wouldn’t buy from Massdrop, unless you like to wait months for delivery and if there’s an issue you have zero support.
Spend the extra $80-100 and get local Aussie stock with warranty.

I've had excellent experiences with Massdrop. Most notably I had a headset arrive with a rattle in the right side, they replaced it no questions asked and I was allowed to keep the fualty pair. I would definitely recommend them. You are right though, shilling could be a bit quicker usually 2-3 weeks.

  • Got them $418 from auto barn
    Cheap deal

  • Awesome price. I got for $430 at Autobarn’s 30% off sale.
Warranty should be 1 year as standard (I got two years due to buying from a authorized Australian dealer - Autobarn).
I would definitely recommend getting the power magic pro and get it installed properly. This means that you do not have to power the unit via the cigarette lighter in your car and you get the capability to film all the time.
Autobarn Camberwell (VIC) generally charges $100 to install a 2 channnel unit. Call around your local ABs for prices as it varies a LOT.
You should also get as part of the package a 16gb micro SD card and usb reader. I would recommend at least 64 (prefer 128) so you can happily store up to 11.5 hours (with 128gb card) of high quality footage.

      • I guess they must rely on the more generic Blackvue warranty.
        Snip here:

        Product Warranty
Please refer to your product’s manual for warranty information. As a general rule, BlackVue dashcams and add-on products (Power Magic Pro, Power Magic Battery Pack, etc.) bear a one-year warranty period. Memory cards are covered by a 6-month warranty, and consumables such as tapes, cable clips, etc. are not covered by a warranty. However, even within the warranty period, if the malfunction is due to user’s negligence, repairs may be handled for a fee.
A receipt or any proof of purchase will be required to determine the product warranty period. You must retain your purchase receipt or other proofs of purchase to receive warranty service.

      • My autobarn installs other stuff

  • Bought this local stock for about $500 (64gb version)

But I had to claim warranty as it wouldn’t record the audio.
Replacement was delivered in 2 days.

I think paying extra for a piece of mind for next 2 year is worth it.

The Android app for these is a car accident.
Been putting up with it and hating it for over a year now.
I love the idea, but wouldn't buy again.

    • App is an absolute nightmare! My DR650S would sometimes freeze and front led would turn on even when turned off. Later found out that the memory card wasn't fast enough thus restarting the device and freezing at times

      • Never had freezing / restarting, but then again i started with a Sandisk endurance class 10 card.
Had the light on when set to off issue tho, and issues connecting to it.
There is a specific process i follow now that seems to work always on the second attempt.
I'll put up with it, but given the reviews over the last 2 years you'd think they'd have sorted ti by now.
I have heard that the firmware from the country of origin works flawlessly.
        Int hat case.. lucky bastards.

      • Agreed - but I updated the firmware and now the images upload to the cloud every time I drive into the driveway. No need for the app anymore :)
You do need to upgrade to the latest version 1 before you upgrade to version 2 firmware though, else it won't work.

    • I wonder how good the recordings are when it's dark

      • More data is better for error correction, but pixels will be smaller. Lets see how they do. If they increase the frame size, then depth of field will increase is is back for dash cams cos you want everything in focus, but can't make the aperture smaller because you also need as much light as possible for night time.
I hope they use this sensor: https://www.framos.com/en/news/sony-launches-highly-sensitiv…
Then again, looks expensive, so it matches what they say every time "It won't be in the same price point"

    • Anyway, bought one to give it a go. Will wait for the 900S and swap it out when it comes out. From what I understand, can use the same hardwire kit so all the cables can stay in the same place.

  • Oops, missed the drop looking up DR900S and Thinkware F850. I guess it wasn't meant to be :) DR900 it is

Personally, i'd rather buy two viofos for front and back. Plus, viofo have better resolution than this post and much cheaper too. Lastly, If something should happen to one you are still covered with the other one.

  • Estimated ship date is Feb 26, 2018 PT

One month for delivery. No deal.

  • The Delivery time should be considered. And as being an overseas purchase warranty could eb an issue. If Aus pruchase from an Authorised dealer Autobarn you get 2 yeras warranty. Aus HQ is in Perth. Good customer support and they really wanted to be the premium dash cam product. Hence why the extra you have to pay compared to the Chinese $50 cams. You pay for what you get. Dont think there is any real discounts locally on these though.

As with anything electronic you may get a defective one and it may be more difficult to get replacement or repairs if purchased from OS.

  • So to buy or not ? Been wanting a Blackvue since I bought my car 4 years ago. They are so expensive here :(

  • This or the Xiaomi 70 mins?

    • They are on very different levels of quality.

Still don't get why people would spend so much on dashcam…seriously, you guys are undercover police or something? How often you need footage from dash cam to prove anything …

10 years ago, you would never heard of anyone using dashcam, now it's like it's a must get thing for car…bizzare!

We purchased three item in 2000 on eBay from a stranger in the USA. $3500 for each item and paid using imt. Everything went well. Nobody in their right mind would try that nowadays. Trust among strangers are virtually gone in this day and age.

If you've ever been involved in an accident where the other party has lied, you'll quickly realise that the few hundred dollars is worthwhile.

      • -2

Who cares, that's what comprehensive are for anyway.

  • Purchased - wife has wanted a 650S-2CH since I got one, so I'll take the 750S-2CH and give her the old one 😀
