Around $67 is its original price.

Reviews aren’t that good, not judging but hard to out 40 on this one

        • +13

Which reviews? This is a great beer and $40 is cheap for any case.

        • +1

It's quite bitter, though the Japanese brewed are far less bitter than the Chinese brewed you'll usually get.

        • +1

          I think it's a really nice beer

I was in Japan until Saturday and this was the beer I mainly drank - $2.80 for a 500ml can at my local 7-Eleven

        • +6

          @R4:
The Suntory Premium Malt was my favourite. It has a creamy head like a draught beer which is nice.

        • +1

          @EarlyBird:
Heading back to JP for holidays next Friday and premium malt is definitely on my list too!

        • +1

@EarlyBird: cracking beer.. rare to find retailing for a decent price in Melbourne though.

        • Review it yourself… with your mouth….

        • @EarlyBird:
Cool. The only Suntory I bought was their single malt - $38 for 700ml at my local supermarket. Not sure if that's cheap but it's a helluva good scotch

        • @R4:
By Suntory Single Malt do you mean the Yamazaki or the Hakushu? It seems unlikely that a 70cl bottle of either could still be had for just $38. Where did you find them?

    • +2

DM says $60.99 per case of 24

      $22.49 per pack of 6

      $4.99 per bottle (in store)

      • +6

        DM now says $41.95/24
Probably brought the price down to avoid price beating

        • Guess so.

        • +1

          By beating it…

  • $42 in VIC? Both Liquorland & Firstchoiceliquor stores.

  • +2

Showing $45 to me in cart. Has the price increased?

    • Was showing as $45 for me but then I set my post code (QLD) and it changed to $42

      • +1

Previously test for NSW/WA show the same price for $40.

        • +2

Still a good deal at $42. Glad that Dan has matched it online so we can stack it with cashrewards + 5% off egiftcard

  • +4

got a popup showing free standard delivery too 'FREEDEL' - Showing $42 for me in VIC

    • Darn. Not available for delivery in sydney.

    • +1

This code is working in Canberra too

  • +3

$45 for me in Victoria use FREEDEL at checkout for free delivery.

  • +2

Got the DM deal 30 cans 500ml last time, still running great… Waiting for another Sapporo deal now.

  • +1

Price change required in original post. OP could you please look into it.

  • +1

Nice deal. One of my favs.

  • Good stuff. Thanks OP.

  • +1

$42 in Brisbane at both LL and FC but showing as "not available for click & collect" so LL with free delivery would be the better deal here.

    • +2

      41.95 @ Dan Murphy’s

    • Gotta love uncle dan!

  • can someone confirm this after they received? i remember these asahi cans are from Thailand, they used to list it on the box but they got too cocky and only label it on the can.

    • +2

My previous few purchases of the 500ml cans were from Japan (brewed in Japan), I would assume the smaller ones would be to.

    • +6

According to this comment on the last asahi deal:

      Asahi Superdry Bottles - China
Asahi Superdry Cans 500ml/350ml - Japan
      Asahi Black Bottles - Japan
      Asahi Soukai bottles - Melbourne
All Asahi draught products are imported from Japan also.

      • just to let you know, schweppes has built a new factory around derrimuit where they will soon be brewing the Asahi Superdry bottles and cans.
They will no longer be imported in…apparently they reckon will taste the same as the import, but i have my reservations…time will tell!

        • Interesting. My mate is a rep and he says the big cans and the kegs are always imported. Ill follow this up.

  • +4

Awesome deal with the free delivery. Tastes infinitely better than the bottled China ones

    • Agree

    • I would recommend you the anhydrous ethanol if you wanna something infinitely better.

  • +1

Does Dan Murphy price match from interstate? We have a Dan Murphy's but no LL or FC

    • +2

To answer my own question, no:

"Price must be advertised in a competitor store within a 10km radius when beating the instore price."

      • +2

It took you a minute to find the answer. Well done. Now you know what to do next time you need an answer.

  • For a second I thought these were the 500ml cans and got excited.

    • +2

I miss the 24x500ml cans for $49 they had a while back 😑

  • +3

    $45 for me in NSW

    • Same here..

      • Meh bought 2 cases anyway through DM and used cashrewards

  • Don't they taste better from the bottle?

    • nah

  • +2

$39.95 per case of 24 at Dan Murphy's in WA.

  • I had thought it was 500ml one.

  • Can someone teach me how to create an alert for a keyword? still can't work out how to do it…

    • +1

do a search using the keyword, then click the create alert button on top right of the results

  • +3

I think this is the first time I've ever seen something cheaper in WA.

  • +2

A mate of mine ;-) tells me Alexander Heights seems to have plenty of stock for WA peeps - every other store further North has none FYI

  • +1

We can thank the tariff free trade between Japan and Australia!

  • Not really a bargain at least for Queensland where Dan Murphys has this for $41.95 per case of 24.

  • As someone who has never tried these, what other beer does this closely resemble taste wise?

    • IMO, something fairly light/crisp in taste such as Budweiser

  • +1

Cheers picking up from Dan Murphy in Vic for $41.95 now they've price dropped

  • I had this gold can asahi in Japan which was sooooo really good. Anyone know where I can buy this in Melbourne?

    • +3

Japanese people usually keep the best stuff for themselves.

    • I think it's called Asahi clear, there is also premium… Never seen it here.

      • I think this is the one. The premium one

  • +1

I prefer the 350ml cans over the 500ml cans. The last 100ml of the 500ml doesn't really taste the same. Opening a new 350ml can is 100% more refreshing.

    • Drink it faster then :-P

      • Yeah tried that but feeling bloated is worse lol!

  • $45 in NSW minus $2.40 if you return the cans, effectively $41.60! and as noted, 5% off ($2.25) if you pay using discounted wish card so this does end up under $40..

  • wont let me check out for some reason, keeps going back to my basket.
tried all three methods of payment

    • Have you tried to change the store's location or call some stores even DM to get price match pre-collection.

    • I tried twice and had the same issue. Just ordered from Dan Murphy's instead.

  • +1

Time to stock up to last me till Chistmas. They do have best use by date.

  • Will not let me checkout. Keeps coming back to basket after payment processes and account shows no order made.

    • Tried to change the store's location or call some stores even DM to get price match pre-collection.

    • Same was happening to me on LL website at 2am, gave up …

  • +1

    Price vary by state?

  • $45 in Gold Coast btw, not $42 like QLD.

  • I love these, only Japanese brewed of course, but now the craft beer scene has taken off I've still got 1.5 cartons left of the the 500ml deal from ages ago. Now it's like Asahi!? Ain't nobody got time for that.

  • Anyone having issues checking out? After trying AMEX and PayPal it will look like its processing then it'll kick me back to the cart page and the transaction never goes through.

    • Yes, happened to me as well, I gave up :-(

  • +1

Confirmed $44.95 at Tuggeranong DM, ACT.
They only have 6 packs so make your own carton.

    Liquorland Tuggeranong didn’t have stock.

  • Still $69.90 @ DM on Boozle.

Which begs the questio: how accurate/up-to-date is Boozle?

  • I'm waiting for a 2018 deal on Leffe!!

There was quite a few around this time last year but I haven't seen from ourcellar / @testpilot147.

  • +1

    Very good beer.

    Highly recommended!

  • -1

If anyone is in Rockhampton they've got absolutely shitloads of Asahi stubbies at 1st choice for $37.10 per carton (30% off as they're close to best before date).

    • +1

For an extra $2.90, u can get the can version which is made in Japan and tasted infinitely better.

  • +1

    Asahi Superdry Bottles - China
Asahi Superdry Cans 500ml/350ml - Japan

  • +1

Thanks OP just grabbed last two cartoons .

  • +1

thanks, i got two from vic park, note use by is 9-18, not that i will have them that long.
ordered 4 from d/m, will be interesting to see use by date on them

  • +4

Only Japanese origin ones are good. Forget about the China ones.

  • Grabbed 2 cases from 1st choice. best before date 09/18

  • First Choice showing zero at my local and unavailable for delivery.

Had to order from DMs and pick up is a week away.

  • -1

Customer of mine said it’s brewery is located in Fukushima where the nuclear accident happened and still high in radiation in their water. I love this beer but what ate your thoughts?
