http://booko.com.au/books/isbn/9780552775359
Cheapest is $7.56, awwww ;(
although congrats on your first book purchase ;)
thanks for the references, at least delivery is quicker at bookbargains for an extra $1.50 =P
I think you'll find that for $1.02 on Abe Books, you are getting a second hand book. All books on Book Bargains are new. They just happen to be factory (or publisher) clearance stock, hence the massive discount! You've got a great bargain, Esdubleu.
I've purchased from Abe Books multiple times now and they're all they've all been brand new books. I've found they order through Book Depository as the packing slip and invoice inside is labelled Book Depository, but somehow sell it cheaper by a few cents/dollars.
Brand new? For $1.02? Really?
I believe Abe Books is owned by Amazon, so BD will be selling massive volume through Abe, giving Abe huge bargaining power.
It's curious… people in Australia complain bitterly about the strangle-hold Coles and Woolies have over the groceries market. Yet ultimately we're going to end up with a duopoly of booksellers, but on a global scale. Duopolies are usually never a good thing for consumers in the long run.
It just so happens that every book I search for had no stock, and only had results through Abebooks, which tells me it's from bookdepository anyways.
Hope other people have better luck. I'll just keep using booko.
We never claim to stock every book in print. In fact, we openly admit we do have a limited range - based on what publishers are willing to 'clear' and what we're able to source ourselves. All we claim is that the books we DO have are extremely well priced and will be dispatched with one working day.
Also, I can assure you we have NOTHING to do with the Book Depository. We are 'affiliates' of Abe Books, meaning that if we do not stock the book you are looking for, you just might be able to find it through Abe Books. It appears this gesture is being misunderstood!
We are indexed through Booko as well. It's a good site. However, any offers, such as 'extra discounts' and/or free shipping promotions, are NOT picked up by Booko. I would assume this applies to ALL sites indexed by Booko, not just Book Bargains. So this might be something you want to bear in mind.
Happy shopping!
Tried to email you through the "contact us" portion of your site, but it threw up an error. Do you have an email address I can send a question to?
Woops! Sorry about that. We'll have to look at the 'contact us' page. Meantime, you can contact us anytime via [email protected]. We'll try to respond within a few hours.
I couldn't find any of the books I've been wanting :(
same. they never have anything in there i want =(
Sorry folks! See comment to Peccavi above. I'm afraid we cannot please all of the people all of the time and never claim to… unlike most of the 'major' online bookstores!
Must be my lucky day as I have made use of 2 ozbargain deals today. I was happy to buy a toddler book which was $6 then came down by 40% and also free shipping as paid by PayPal. Thanks "poster"
Very limited selection imho. However I found a couple of books that I'll purchase because with the free postage and 40% discount they represent very good value for money
Indeed, we are a 'small player'. But we do try to offer competitive prices and an excellent service. You and I both wish we had a broader range!
Still though I found a couple of great books at a very competitive price due to this deal so I voted positive. Thanks
Good deal! No uni textbooks?
