For the purposes of point (10) below, this is considered a new offer so go for it! Quite literally $15 profit ($25 cashback minus $10 cost) with access to amaysim’s Unlimited 1GB mobile plan on the house. The critical requirements in order to avail of this cashback are (1) you are a new amaysim customer, (2) activate on or prior to July 31, and (3) you click out via the Cashrewards link in the post.       As a Rep, you are rare - sorting out issues other Reps hide from. Watched you answer problems, even on weekends. It's reassuring when buying, hoping CashRewards will come through - haven't failed me yet😁

      I questioned ShopBack about their vague t&c & answers - it took days to get any response, and longer to receive reassurance. They finally admitted to changing the t&c during their Amaysim deal. Took me a lot of work to drag that answer from them. So I appreciate your support!

      • Hi sylvester328. I'd be asking amaysim (via chat) to resend the SIM and to ensure the new SIM is allocated to the service you created to avail of this offer. I'd also be saving the transcript just in case. No reason you should be out of pocket $2, as there's always the risk cashback will be cancelled as per item (8) in the OP.

          If you use gmail, you can make a 'new' email address by inserting a dot . anywhere in your email address. Google ignores dots, so these emails will be sent to your original account, but they will appear 'new' to Amaysim/whoever you are signing up with again.

          For example, if your email address is [email protected], you can use [email protected] which appears new to Amaysim but saves you having to make a new gmail account. Same thing works with the plus sign +

          That didn't answer my question. I haven't had any CB claims on my account. But I already have an amaysim account and I wanted to buy a sim for my mum using her account. But I don't want to create a CR account for her just for one item. Could I have used my CR account with her amaysim account?

          @lostn: My apologies. I misunderstood your question. There is no direct relationship between any CR and/or amaysim accts. As long as only one amaysim cashback promo is claimed on any CR acct, it matters not who it’s purchased for/by. So the answer is yes, you could have.

    Who is paying for all these handouts?
    It fails me to understand their business model… Surely they cant be just banking on people activating and then forgeting to switch/abandon the account.
    Why 'new' email address is required only and not other details… They seem to be just building a fake book of subscribers..!!

      Acquire tonne of customers to cross sell their energy and NBN services.

      Wondered the same, decided to do a bit of research: Few points from media:

      • Amaysim more than doubled revenue for the six months to December 31 to $294 million courtesy of higher subscriber numbers on its growing mobile and broadband services, and new customers taken on through the Click energy retail business acquisition.
      • Mr Ogrin said Amaysim is looking at ways to attract customers to more costly mobile plans.
      • "With energy costs top of mind for customers across the country, we have a terrific opportunity to cross-sell," Mr Ogrin said.

      From investor preso on 26Feb18 few notable sentences on their strategy:

      1H18 outcomes:
      • Average monthly subscriber churn maintained at 2.0%
      2H18 priorities
      • Continue to grow subscribers by targeting the price sensitive market and cross-sell of mobile, devices, nbn and energy. Mobile continues to be the most efficient channel for new subscribers, as it has a low cost-per-acquisition compared to energy and broadband

      Cross-sell energy to both existing and new amaysim customers. Identify new and complimentary growth channels while developing and growing existing channels

      • Energy now represents ~52% of the Group’s net revenue ensuring amaysim is a more diversified business today than when it first listed
      • OZBargain remains the most efficient customer acquisition channel, however, the direct expenses to TightArse grew 25% in 1H18. Not really, but they should probably list it in the annual preso and give TA a bit from their $16m marketing budget :)

      So basically, give away something that customer loves with an idea to build a brand and keep people in, preferably moving them to acquire profitable services (energy, higher tier plans, devices).

      In terms of who is paying for it:

      1H18 results:
      • About $18m in cash in the balance sheet so have a bit chips to play with. Plus they made a $17.8m profit in first half 2018 (7.5% out of their $236.5m liabilities), which covered their interest payments almost x5 times over. Meaning they are not "living on their credit card", but can repay it and have plenty left.
      • Around $100m in loans as a working capital: Current borrowings of $13.6m and non-current borrowings of $82.6m relate to a new working capital, letter of credit and term debt facility with the CBA/WBC to fund the acquisition of Click
      • Overall $55.5m in net assets, not too bad or as they say "amaysim remains conservatively geared"

      • Also keep in mind the deal only been available for 12hours or so, not everyone pays attention to these flash promos on a busy Saturday so likely Amaysim will get a small number of new accounts at the cost of $15 each (paid in god knows how long time).

        Realistically, not many people will want to put the effort into getting $15 in 3 months time..

    • They hope you stay. Or that you forget to turn off automatic billing. But the answer is: their ongoing customers.

    Would there be any problem with the tracking if it gave me an error after I pressed the button to pay. The payment went through and I got an email saying the sim is on its way but I still haven't received the confirmation from CR.

      I reckon you're better off just using new email and requesting a new number, it's the safest way to get cashback and won't cause any issues down the line :)

      Unlike the great support from TA in CashRewards deals, SB is very unclear. Amaysim apparently are refusing cash back through ShopBack if you are an existing customer (set up new account as TA advises here).

      ShopBack Rep simply said to buy a new service (SIM) to qualify in response to a question about having an existing Amaysim account. TA would not advise that!!

      I have posted my thoughts on ShopBack as I may get no cash back on $80 spent! Maybe they'll come through, but it may take some time & it's not nice feeling mislead.

        Yeah this is very misleading. I bought from that deal as well. Well we have the proof the Rep confirmed we shouldn't have any issues so if it get's rejected .. then we can show the proof. Quick screenshot the response before it get's deleted!

          It depends if ShopBack is reliable. We haven't put it to the test, yet. Far too easy for SB to say it was our or Amaysim fault no cash back was received.

          SB Rep responses sometimes have been vague but reassuring when we wanted certainty before paying up. They seem to post an offer on their site, and work out the important t&c afterwards.

          Failing to state "NEW CUSTOMERS ONLY" in an offer is a major fail by ShopBack👎
          (That was likely a requirements by Amaysim.)
          TA makes that condition very clear, with advice how to get around it😉

          TA goes to a lot of effort to ensure CR offers are very clear & accurate, with necessary steps outlined, so we have the maximum chance of receiving our cash back.Then TA is there to sort out issues. As always - THANKS TA👍

          With CashRewards, TA has been there to stand up for us when things have gone wrong. When a deal with Yomojo went terribly wrong, TA fought to get our cash back👍

          This will be a real test for ShopBack. CashRewards with TA already has a good record of looking after Ozbargainers.

          Yeah TA is always here to clarify our issues or answer any questions. There isn't any gotchas or anything like that. If you follow the deal requirements then you will always get the cashback through Cashrewards. I will just stick with Cashrewards from now on.

    Just signed up. Paid with amex and the amaysim site still requires ID verification for activation.
    I wont do that until I get the sim :)

      Did you get an error at payment stage? A couple of others have mentioned this and it hasn’t tracked due to the error. Best you contact Anaysim via chat and cancel the order in this case. Thanks.

        • Tracking via the network we use for amaysim is extremely fast. Usually less than 2 hours. Without knowing the circumstances of your browser setup re plugins, addons etc, it’s very difficult for me to give reasons as to why your sale ‘may not’ have tracked. The two things you can do is cancel, or open a support ticket after 7 days where we’ll open a transaction query with amaysim. They then approve/decline based on their findings.

        • @antkey: Great stuff! Actually that’s a great lesson for all. Check your CR acct first as sometimes your tracking email may be sitting in junk mail or may be delayed in sending :)

        I got an error at payment stage, telling me it didn't work, but now I can see that I was charged twice on my credit card (despite not even trying again).
        If I cancel one of the payments will that affect my tracking?

  • Too late to contact Amaysim now. Their customer service closed for the day! Use same browser to buy last deal with CR tracking in 10 minutes. Only see Amaysim under click history but with no tracking yet.

    • I'm in the same boat, fingers crossed that I can get it fixed in time tomorrow morning either getting a refund or fixing the tracking.

      If you are an existing Amaysim CUSTOMER, you must create a separate Amaysim ACCOUNT.

      And I'm not 100% sure about this next bit but I believe each offer is valid once per account.

      They don't care you're the same customer, they want you on separate accounts.

    Just a suggestion: turn off adblockers altogether, don't just disable it on the CR website only, make sure it is turned off.

        • If you login to your Amaysim, you can probably just activate it by verifying your Id.

    Was going to buy one more but too much sketchiness from amaysim's side. 3 of my 4 sims (all following t&c and different deals) which have arrived cannot be activated as the page just goes to blank for the past few days and it is a requirement for the cashback.
