To access the discounts, a UNiDAYS membership (either yours or someone you know) is needed (free to join for any students 16 y.o. and above, studying in Australia or New Zealand). UNiDAYS membership can be obtained even if you aren't a current student, but as long as you still have access to a .edu email address (which often is free/ongoing for university alumni).

1) Access the UNiDAYS HP page (https://www.myunidays.com/AU/en-AU/partners/hp/view/online) and follow redirection. "Student Store" appears on the upper right hand corner of webpage upon successful redirection.
2) Then come back here, and access the product url pages below. (Or manually search the model numbers.) The discounted prices below will only appear upon Student Store activation.

The student pricing should be ongoing, but as I am mentioning about the AMEX HP offer, I've set the expiry to be the one of the Amex Offer (Please let me know if I should delete the expiry to make it an ongoing deal).

If you have access to the AMEX HP offer, then it'll be further $150 off via statement credits.

See product pages for full spec.

Heavily discounted prices for the HP ENVY x360 2-in-1 laptops with touch-screens, featuring the Ryzen Mobile APUs with integrated Vega graphics. The ENVY range is more the mainstream/mid-range, compared to the higher end Spectre range in the other recent posts, giving a more mainstream/mid-range pricing and better value.

CPU performance wise, the Ryzen 5 and 7 APUs are on par with intel's i5 and i7 U-series mobile quad-cores, while graphics wise the integrated Vega 10's performance is on par with a throttled nVidia MX150 and better than MX130/940MX.

The prices are significantly lower than "normal" HP prices, and also other major retailer prices.

With regards to cashback websites, I was still able to load the Student Store after redirection with ShopBack (10% cashback!), but have not tried CashRewards.

EDIT (21/07): Just had a quick check with the links again, looks like either HP is being sneaky and denied access to the above listings from the Student Store (even though the listing can still be found by using search function), or the items are currently "Temporary out of stock". The device listings are still accessible with normal non-discount pricing. The webpages will continue to be monitored to see if they'll come back later. (There are other configurations as well, if one searches for "Envy x360 amd ryzen" with the search function, although may not provide as much value as the above ones.)

EDIT (31/07): johnnywu34 was able to contact HP via online chat function and get it to honour the student pricing, in case if the website isn't registering the prices.

  • Are there any UNidays deals on the Intel CPU Spectres?

    • I had a look at the Spectres (the x360), but only one is on the UNiDAYS catalog, which is the same as https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/391773, and that 25% off deal gives a better price (UNiDAYS student price only made it ~$15xx).

  • Hmmm the 13 inch ryzen 5 or this deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/391773

    • I'd take the i5 it should be quicker than the Ryzen 5 and you get more storage space.

    • +1

They are in a slightly different category despite similar spec, as the Spectre range is considered higher end and better build quality.

Personally I don't think see the intel i5 to much different compared to the Ryzen 5 CPU performance wise (they are on par, with one insignificantly better than the other depending on which benchmark one looks at), while the Ryzen 5's graphics performance is generally 1.5-2.5x better than intel's graphics. Pretty much after AMD unveiled integrated Vega graphics, Intel spec-ed models without dedicated graphics just became so much more undesirable, unless there is a considerable price difference (>$100 cheaper).

So if you value hardware performances VS price more, then the Ryzen 5 machine is likely to be better. But if you always wanted the higher end premium range build quality, and does not really game at all, then the Spectre x360 listed in the other post is at a pretty good price too.

  • Do you think JB Hifi will price match this? Thanks

    • Lol I really don't know, best to just try in store. But likely they won't match the AMEX credits though.

In regards to the student store, I contacted HP and told them about how the student pricing didn't register, and the customer rep honoured the discounted price. :)

    • That's great! =D

Is it via the online chat function? Or did you have to call?

      • Chat function, not sure if it made any difference but I also purchased the care package, https://puu.sh/B6bpa/f942cdcd16.png

Maybe I was lucky, but worth the try!

        • Thanks for the info! =)

Yea the care package can be added via chat and that's the student pricing, pretty good value!

        • Browsing in the student store, I can see it for the price listed above, but when adding it to the basket, it becomes out of stock. Adding to the cart from the normal (non student) store works, but at the non discounted price. Is this what happened to you? Also how do you get the online chat function to show? Or is it probably only open at certain hours? Thanks

        • @tqf8h:
I was able to bring up the Chat widget (on right side of screen), from this page https://h20386.www2.hp.com/AustraliaStore/Merch/Offer.aspx?p… , BUT, only after disabling my adblocker. Not sure about availability during after hours as I checked around 4.30PM, but I assume during weekdays it shouldn't be too bad.

          Good luck!

EDIT: I was able to see the "Live Chat (Got A Question)" widget on product pages too, it'll expand if you move your mouse cursor over it.

@zrmx: Thanks, I tried again this morning and got it for that price now via chat. Had to pay over the phone though so no cash rewards cash back. But at least I get the $150 back with amex
