Gonna wait for Ebay plus 25% off deal :)

    • But it just ended yesterday…

    • Reason being?

        Dell.

I had an Alienware laptop. The thing was a piece of crap and suffered heaps of failures. From the backlit keyboard to the hard drives.

In the end, the capacitors on the crappy Dell branded motherboard overheated and swelled and rendered the whole thing into a three thousand dollar paperweight. It was about two years old.

Further to that, my office used to have solely Dell machines, and we have had bad experiences.

The service is generally good, but the products suck.

        Just my $0.02

Give us good XPS lapy offers Mr. Dell Associate :)

    • I noticed on their eBay store there are a few items showing up like 'Order for csrnomercy'. Included the latest dell XPS lappies made to spec so that they could use the ebay coupon for 20% off. You could have a try with their customer service and see if they'd do the same for you?

      • i asked them to list the mid range alienware Aurora R7 on ebay but they said they cannot do it.

  • Good reason not to buy

  • How does this compare to the i5-8400, 1060 model we often see for 1k?

I have a freesync monitor so this is a pc im kind of interested in.

Also - If I purchased an ssd, is it a difficult task to switch the os onto the ssd from the existing hdd? Keeping in mind I've never once changed parts of a pc etc, etc.

      This is the Ryzen 1700X with a 256GB SSD, 8 GB RAM, a RX580 and a 1TB HDD.

Better CPU, better GPU and SSD preinstalled.

It's $1649/- so with 20% off should be
      $1320 delivered.

I know it's a fair bit more expensive than this but when you consider the added oomph and the hassle plus cost of buying an SSD, installing it and cloning the OS onto it, you might be better off getting this.

      • at $1320

can we build a better pc?

  • Although it's now "only" 20% off now and comes only in the 128gb SSD variant, the i5-8400 / Nvidia 1060 is better value.
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Inspiron-Gaming-PC-Desktop-Intel…

$1119 with the same coupon, less than $300 extra with an SSD and much faster processor and GPU.

Hard to beat today for 1080p gaming and general use (even by building your own, although then you get to choose the parts). Of course there will be a better deal within weeks or months. For most gamers this seems better value than the Ryzen 1700X.
