24-100mm range. f/1.8-2.8. Seems pretty good.

Really good price. Had been eyeing this camera for a while now. Price is now right to pull the trigger. Thanks OP!

This is the main rival to Sony's RX100 series and probably closest in spec to the Mark 3 version. I have a Mark2 which has served me well but this is very tempting for the longer zoom and better video features.

    • I just purchased the rx100 iii from camera store eBay for 614 with proxy code

Don't forget the Panasonic Lumix LX10 similar specs and price to the Canon.

I'd rather either over the Sony based on price, not being a serious photographer and all.

  • Where can I grab the discounted gift cards? thanks

You can buy 5% off Wish e-Gift Cards thru Cashrewards and then use the e-gift cards to buy JB HiFi gift card at Woolworths.

      • So you go into Woolworths and buy these gift cards or you can buy them at the Woolworths website?
Never used the Cash Rewards website so I just want to make sure I am doing this right.

Same price here at Amazon, better deal after shopback/cashreward

    • Not nessarcarily, some people can get gift cards for more than 5% off through corporate bennifits and such.

But yes that would be a better option for those who can't.

    • I think you got negged by non photographers :) I'm also waiting for something like this with a viewfinder

I Love this camera! Travelled Europe with it for a month and it was perfect.
Here's a video of Switzerland through the lense of my G7X MKII

It surprised me with just how many features it had, including manual video which tbh I didn't have enough time usually to utilise, but Auto (which that video was shot in) worked great.

It has a dedicated whitebalance ring, then a click or free turning (you flick a switch to change) ring around the lense at the front which you can custom map to manual zoom, aperture, pretty much anything :)

Just be careful when buying extra non named batteries as you need ones with the Canon chip for it to not bug you about a non Canon battery after every start up, I got a monoprice one off eBay and it was perfect

    • great video. I imagine the rear screen worked well for you there - lots of reflected light but generally overcast. Here in aus, if you're outdoors and it's sunny, you can't actually see what's on the screen. It doesn't seem to be a problem for a lot of people - I'm guessing that's because these cameras aren't used outdoors on sunny days. More social type cameras. Which makes me wonder about action cameras?

      • Yeah I didn't have any problem with the screen, there are brightness settings so maybe out of the box it isn't on full?
I pretty much shot the whole time with the screen horizontal, as used the ol' Camera Strap Tripod with my elbows locked on my sides, pulling the strap hard down to be stable, and then looking down at the screen.

  • FYI This camera is coming up on Amazon Prime deals today at 4PM
Worth checking out for maybe a killer price

    • Did anyone see what the price was?
