This is certainly a new approach but is kinda stupid. They sell the adhesive patches for like 3 bucks and it's pretty hard to (profanity) that up.

How about painting? I've always wondered how to match paint colour if I ever want to repair anything.
You have to cut a bit more out (~20c size) and get it colour matched.
just repaint the whole wall like i did:)
cut a piece of your wall and bring it to bunnings :)
ive had to go back 3 times before they the colour close, ended up leaving it looking off colour and will repaint the entire wall one day
Cut a piece of the wall for a paint match and then use the patch kit to repair it.

Just paint it a contrasting colour and call it a feature patch…
