Description:
Swaps is a challenging word game where you must construct words from a set of random letters, in order to beat the set bar and progress to the next level. You can drag unwanted letters into the letter pile to "Swap" them for a new letter. The end goal is to beat your personal best high score (the highest bar you've reached).
FAQ:
Q: Why does it need wifi access?
A: It doesn't. Its a completely offline game. The toolset I used to create it annoyingly asks for the access even though it doesn't access the network at all. I cant figure out how to stop it from asking. The only permissions the game actually needs is write to memory as it stores your last position for when you close the app.
Q: My word isn't recognised - why?
A: I used a Scrabble dictionary so if its in Scrabble then it should be in Swaps. Its possible there's words missing - let me know the word and I'll review.
Q: Any plans for an iOS version?
A: I often get asked this :) I would like to, if the app gets bigger I'll take the plunge.
Q: Does it go past 6 letters?
A: Not unless you use the Qu tile to make a word (with all the tiles) and technically you'll make a 7 letter word. If you do you'll recieve a triple bonus.
Q: how is the letter selection done?
A: There are rare and there are common letters. The rarity of the letters is based on Scrabble letter distribution. It should be the same as if you were pulling random letters out of a bag of Scrabble tiles, you're going to get more vowels then Zs or Qu for example. The only difference is I've turned off getting the same tile twice in a row.
Q: what's the world high score?
A: 102: https://twitter.com/swaps_game/status/1033628576526921728
