    • Thanks jason_ruz.

  • They must be discounting their current models to make way for sandy bridge.

  • The bloody website has been down for 3+ hours. How is anyone supposed to order?

    • +1

Most store pages are not working at the moment :(

  • +1

All store pages are down, 6.30pm 5/2/11

    • 7:45pm 5/2/11 still down. Except I'm not getting thrown to a placeholder, just loads forever.

  • Even at discounted prices, a model with comparable specs with a brand like ASUS is still twice the price?

    • +3

Yes but there are things that are quite particular to ThinkPads that aren't on any other laptop.

The roll cage is one of them.

The drain hole which drains 60 mL of liquid in case of spillage.

ThinkPad keyboards are legendary. Better than most desktop keyboards I've ever used.

      etc etc…

The site is now back up, btw.

      • I bought a ThinkPad T410 from the last promo because having a good keyboard is very high on my list of requirements (I was typing on a model-M-like keyboard with buckling-spring for the last 3 years at work). I went and tested out all the Asus in DSE last time and their keyboards are, hmm, "uninspiring".

        • +1

          Just bought a T410.

          Core i7-620M
          8GB RAM
          320GB HDD
          Intel 6300 Advanced abgn
          Fingerprint reader
          3 yr RTB warranty
          Qualcomm 3G WWAN
          nVidia Quadro Optimus Graphics
          Win7 Ultimate x64

          for a grand total of $2073…. :)

        • Damn. Now you made me jealous. I went for the NBD warranty though as it's required for work.

      • Good config Hubertlam. I made almost same specs with T510 and it was 1456 after 35% , but with one year warranty.
Its worth the extra spend than other normal laptops.

  • I have to agree. Seen many laptops. Always fixing other peoples. Always see keyboards screw up. I bought my first laptop today and didn't think twice about Lenovo

  • You should put the prices in the post. T410 is $1,349.25 for an i5?
I have a work T410, and this can't be worth that much. It doesn't have USB3 support, not proper OpenGL support in base model, etc. I am keen to put a negative here for that price.
