  • Good spot

  • Amaysim cashbacks usually have a 'must be active for 60 days' clause - I wonder if Shopback is missing this condition or if it doesn't apply

    • +5

Hey leeroys_dad, this does not apply :)

      • Nice work!

      • Hi,
I bought the SIM through shopback website, the order went through as I got the email from Amaysim, the last page was:-
"Whoops! We're really sorry about this, but it looks like something went wrong.
The following error has occurred:Sorry something went wrong. Please try again, or let us know if the problem keeps happening."
I got this page after I made the payment, until then there was no error. And I didn't continue after this error. But order actually went through?
Was it something to do with clicking through Shopback website?

        • This might have been something up with amaysim's checkout, given some duplicate order went through.

For your query below, cashback should still track within 48 hours, however if that is not the case, you can reach out to our customer service team at [email protected] and they'll be more than help :)

      • +1

Hey mate, Amaysim confirmed it duplicated the order, and as a result will remove the duplicate order, and just keep the main order in.
Can you confirm the cashback will still go through?

      • I just signed up and it's stating in my account the following;

        Pending: Validating your Cashback
We've received your order details and it is being validated by amaysim Mobile. You can expect confirmation by 25 Sep 2018 when our partner store ensures that you did not make any cancellation, return or exchange. Otherwise, the cashback will be adjusted or voided.

Please note the date, I wanted to check if the delay in confirmation is not due to the 60-day lock in contract?

        • Hey firestint,

Thanks for signing up! The delay in confirmation is a rough guideline of when we may be typically paid out the cashback, and is not due to a 60-day lock in contract (there is no lock in).

        • @gotyourback:

          Awesome, thanks for confirming!

      • +1

Can we do it for both the $20 and $40 plans, and get both cashbacks?

        • +1

Hey ronnknee, if you want to get cashback for both plans, you will need to make a new amaysim account with a new email address for each plan.

        • @gotyourback: Cheers!

        • @gotyourback: Would that work for multiple cashbacks of the same plan? Is there a limit of cashback per each plan? Eg. 1 ShopBack Account with multiple Amaysim Accounts on $20 plan with multiple cashbacks.

        • +1

@ronnknee: This should be okay - no limits. As long as it's one amaysim account per plan it's all good.

        • @gotyourback:

          but that conflicts with

Accounts that engage in fraudulent orders/activities to game/cheat the Cashback system will be banned and Cashback forfeited.

        • @CVonC: This refers to sign up bonuses like referrals.

        • @gotyourback: What about if the multiple Amaysim accounts are in the same name/linked to the same ID?

        • @illumination: Should be okay too.

      • +1

Hey guys, we're still clarifying with amaysim about your questions. Will get back to you all once they get back to us :)

  • The plan you mention 2.5GB did not show "NO LOCK-IN CONTRACT" only at below, Other Amaysim Plans show this line, seems like at least 60 days lock in for those 20/30/40/50

    • +1

Hey dlovep, confirming that there is no 60 day lock-in.

      • And how long do we have to stay with amaysim to get cashback? 28 days or we can port out before?

        • hey Micky14,

There's no set duration on how long you have to stay with amaysim for, but you can always turn off auto renewal when it's close to 28 days since activating your SIM.

  • If i port in with this i can keep my existing number right? Or do you need to get a new number for this deal?

    • Hey YOTR,

Yes it is fine for you to port in and keep your number. Just make sure that your service is activated on amaysim's side to be eligible for cashback!

  • Hey i am new to cash back can you pls help to understand? I am looking to buy $40 sim n they saying I received upto $60 cash back means anything between 0 to 60 or you receive $60 back in account

    • +1

      You will receive 60.

  • +2

Then why would not people get the $40 - 15gb, unlimited calls plan. It gives $60 cashback. You get better sim and still $20 earning?

    • It's better you get these both. Free 40 dollars money and data you get.

    • Paid by paypal, buying the 15GB for $40. What does this mean?

"You saved $20.00 AUD off your $40.00 AUD purchase at amaysim Australia Limited."

      Description Unit price Qty Amount
      Unlimited 15GB addPhoneOrderS
      $40.00 AUD 1 $40.00 AUD
      Subtotal $40.00 AUD
      Special offer - $20.00 AUD
      Total $20.00 AUD
      Payment $20.00 AUD

      • so you got discount of $20 on 40 plan.
Now guess the Qn is how much cashback would you get… do you see anything come up in shopback yet?

        • Yes, 60

      • +4

        gumtree $20 maybe

      • +2

        Special offer - $20.00 AUD
for listing your car on gumtree EOFY campaign

        • Aha, that'd be it.

  • Amazing!!!

  • +4

Pretty much most of the cashback that will be confirmed can be revoked under the clause:
Accounts that engage in fraudulent orders/activities to game/cheat the Cashback system will be banned and Cashback forfeited.

Amaysim wants customers that will stay for the long term, in good faith of the offer.

Plenty of other cashback sites have successfully used this clause to claw back hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of cashback, including those who cancel straight after they receive cashback. You just have to do a simple google to find this.

Unless the OP wants to clarify this only applies to multiple accounters.
I doubt it though. It's hard to argue you did the offer in good faith when you port away after a month and possibly have done previous offers from cashrewards and others last year.

A huge red CAUTION sign should be placed on top of this offer.

    • +4

Why not just buy, don't port, have a play, and let it run out after a month/cancel auto recharge. End of day, it's a 'free' $20.

No gaming there, 'I had the service for a month, it didn't suit my needs, I chose not to renew'

      • +4

I have been scammed several times across the years donating to charities and getting cashback only for it to be revoked later because I stopped subscribing after 35 days even though it only says you need to stay for 30 days. The worst thing was that I got billed $40 for donations in total, lost the cashback too which was $40 for $20 monthly donation as the offer was not completed in good faith apparently. lol…

Notice how the Store Rep has been avoiding this post.

Anyway, good luck for those who are trying. If there was someone actually replying to our concerns like tightarse, I would be more inclined to jump on board, but I'll pass.

It's not the same as those free kogan sims, where there is no risk to trial the service. The main idea behind this promo is to gain extra long term customers. If they wanted to fatten their userbase for accounting purposes, there are better ways of doing that like free sims. Maybe a belong style promo with $50 credit on sim.

        *shrug

Good thing those charities are deductible for American taxpayers as we pay tax no matter where we live.

    • +1

WRONG. The deal is clearly 30 days. So of course you're not obliged to continue after that.

      • +3

ZING! GA! I love everything in CAPITALS cause yelling at pc is healthy

  • *saw

  • Thanks & Done!

  • Can't check out.

  • +1

Be very careful/wary, I have just been charged twice by Amaysim, whilst displaying an error with the order as per above.

Not sure why, just with Amaysim now.

  • Received a cashback email from ShopBack.

    • Likewise. Always love a quick confirmation. Thanks OP!

  • Accidentally left my adblocker on and haven't received any emails from shopback. Fingers crossed

    • got shopback confirmation email instantly.

    • End up being ok..?

  • Damm, got it at $35

  • This might be a stupid question but can you put these sim cards in a 4G mobile dongle and use them as purely data?

    • Yup, you can. I do it all the time

  • +1

Does it matter if you already have an account with amaysim? Shouldn't affect cashback with new SIM?

    • +1

I have an account but with an expired SIM. Logged in with my account details and the cashback got tracked. Hope they won't claw it back, but there was nothing in the terms against.

    • +1

As long as you purchase a new service/SIM, it shouldn't be an issue.

      • Hi rep, please clarify the meaning of new service/SIM. Say if I port an existing number from vodafone to amaysim, would it qualify for the cashback?

        • Hi Camelback, in that scenario you would indeed qualify!

      • +2

Looks like all of us who used an existing account are getting our cashback rejected. Can you please clarify and honour it?

      • Rep - you need to confirm this as those with existing accounts are now concerned we won't receive cash back promised!

Discussion after this comment that cash back was rejected as wasn't "new customer".

That was not a condition of this deal on ShopBack site & you did not state it was necessary when asked above.

Called on ShopBack to clear up this important issue. Still waiting!

      • +2

Sent a PM as you haven't responded but have just been logged in!
There has been no response from ShopBack since 14/7 - before deal ended.
        That's not good customer service😠

        • That is pretty poor form that they are ignoring emails/messages. I haven't been rejected yet but if they don't respond or still reject .. can we take this further? Complain to your state fair trading etc? Hope it doesn't have to come to this.

  • Will it work for existing customers to order this on the same account as old SIM? Edit: same question as Ughhh which I didn't read.

Also, can I order multiple? Got relatives coming in next month from overseas.

  • Any deals I can stack for new ShopBack users?

    • +1

Yeah, I would have liked the see the reps post an answer to this question too. In theory you can get a $5 new user bonus for signing up to ShopBack, and another $5 bonus on your first purchase, if you sign up using a referral link. My hesitation for doing this is that with the last cashrewards Amaysim offer they had a condition that you could not stack with new user referrals… Now I know that cashrewards is NOT ShopBack, but the terms & conditions and details on ShopBack's Amaysim offer seem a little thin as compared to CashRewards, so my concern is that they start rejecting cashbacks for reasons that were never stated at the start. So the new user bonus might work with this deal, or it might not. In the end I just decided to forgo the new user bonus as $40 is much more than $5 or $10, and without certainty from the store reps as to whether they will honour this it's not worth the risk, but I have no idea if I did the right thing or not.

    • +9

      No just dont

    • +2

Accounts that engage in fraudulent orders/activities to game/cheat the Cashback system will be banned and Cashback forfeited.

    • No.

  • Will shopback send an email confirmation to say the purchased has been tracked? Thanks

    • +2

Never mind. Got a confirmation email. I can confirm the answer to my question is 'yes'

      • how long did it take?

    • ok resolved

  • Anyone know how long it will take the sim to arrive? Wouldn't mind getting 15gb sim for a holiday next week.

    • +1

I think it told me 2-5 business days when I purchased

      • Thanks for that.

  • why not go with the $40 15GB offer? You still get the same amount cashback after costs (net $20)

    • +1

In my case I just want the cash and don't need the data or anything else.

    • Can you do both? ($40 and $20 plans) Could the store rep clarify this?

      • Yep, store rep please clarify this!

        • +1

I got an email from them last night:

There is no limit for the cashback per person.

You can purchase the 2.5GB and 15GB, you will then be eligible for the cashback of $40 and $60 respectively.

Do click from Shopback again for every new purchases.

Hope this clarifies and do let us know if you need any further assistance.

          Have a nice day. :)

        • +1

          @iSamurai:
And better use a new account and email as the shopback rep says here

    • risk of osing upfront costs vs data beed ?

      • Yes (I'll ignore the missing/mistyped letters). It's just risk - your risk is what you put in (cash cost), and the reward is what you'll get out in cash, and the service is what you'll get for that month. The spend $40 get $60 back is better if you're sure that you'll get the cashback as the net cost is the same, but the service inclusions are better. The spend $20 get $40 back is better if you're less certain that the cashback will be paid out as advertised (I've previously had one cashback work with amaysim, and another be rejected), as the cash cost risk is halved, or if you don't have any need for the extra inclusions (i.e. if 2.5 GB data is sufficient and you don't need international calls).

  • I’ve got Amaysim from two months ago which I didn’t activate. Thinking of getting $40 15gb sim for brother in town for holiday. Would I get $60 cashback if decide to not continue after first month?

  • Got a great new number for my wife, thank you OP!

  • hi, I m getting the following errors in both Chrome and firefox browser. They appears when shopback trying to redirect to amaysim website.

adblocker are disabled on both browsers.

    Chrome:

    This site can’t be reached
ad.doubleclick.net’s server IP address could not be found.
    Try running Windows Network Diagnostics.
    DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

    Firefox:

Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site.

We can’t connect to the server at ad.doubleclick.net.
If that address is correct, here are three other things you can try:

    Try again later.
    Check your network connection.
If you are connected but behind a firewall, check that Firefox has permission to access the Web.

    • use Edge?

      • hey, thanks for the advise, I tried IE (it's windows 7). got similar error .

        This page can’t be displayed

•Make sure the web address https://ad.doubleclick.net is correct.
•Look for the page with your search engine.
•Refresh the page in a few minutes.

        • i used Edge and worked for me

        • have you tried running the following command in the run box:
          ipconfig /flushdns

        • @steven6:

hey, thanks, just tried that, no go : /

I will try another computer on another network

    • +1

I don't think this is the cause but with click-through stuff like Cashrewards etc I've found that ublock origin, privacy badger, noscript and even just my modified hosts file can interfere with them. Also at my work the Cashrewards and other sites are unblocked but their clickthrough tracker pages trigger the content blocker.

In short, try a seperate network entirely like your phone

      • thanks, it worked on another PC on the same network.

something to do with my laptop. : )

        • +1

If you want help troubleshooting it, you should install the Canary browser and try do it through that. If you get the same error then check that hosts file for an ad.doubleclick.net entry. Otherwise antivirus/antimalware/firewall software may be blocking that domain silently if you have anything of that nature installed besides just Windows Defender and Windows Firewall

        • @hetzjagd:

I got curious and installed the Canary browser, getting this error:

          This site can’t be reached
The web page at https://ad.doubleclick.net/ddm/clk/417541275;218573805;k?htt… might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
          ERR_ADDRESS_INVALID

Just wondering how do you check the hosts file ? cheers : )

on the other hand 40$ pending already showing up in my shopback account : D

        • @hetzjagd:

ahhh, i might have found the cause , few months ago one of my colleagues sent us this file which intends to get rid of the Ads on Skype.

          http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.txt

          : D
