    How much for all 14

    • Send me a PM and we can discuss bulk deals my friend :)

  • +6

Phil what are your thoughts on the escalating tensions in the south china sea?

    • +3

      Allow me.

There were a few issues with 1/2 people who had the battery issue, their issue was resolved with a full refund in their case.

      • I asked Phil though.

        • Good question!

From China's perspective there is literally a noose being woven around them with the number of US Bases in India, Japan, Tiawan, the Philippines etc etc etc etc etc.

Now I am starting to believe that China are NON expansionary powers, its in their history, we sent missionary's to them, we wanted to trade with them not the other way round so I think we're projecting when we think that they are going to come out as a major power, their army is basically useless anyway, and Xi has only said about bringing it up to scratch by I think 2050 so their actions in the south china sea is a proactive defence although illegal under international law too the west's LEGAL base building and such. We must be very worried about being in their debt (We already are significantly) and we need to make sure their lack of human rights does not rub off on us.

They do want us to stay out of their affairs which is hard because they don't have the same values as us and we want to spread them

        • +1

          @phillipdi:

Thanks Phil it's always nice to get your perspective.

        • +1

@phillipdi: Ha! An actually decent reply, nice.

Yeah - our view of the situation is warped because we're accustomed to the US being a global (not even regional) expansionist power, and China to be a local player. If we took a balanced view, the recent US "freedom of navigation" exercises in sending warships through the South China Sea and around Taiwan would be like the Chinese (People's Liberation Army) Navy sending warships into the Caribbean or off the coast of California.

You bet the US wouldn't like that.

        • @HighAndDry: China did send a warship to the Queensland coast to "observe" our naval exercise with the US Navy. How do you like that?

The Defence Department said Australia respects the rights of all states to exercise freedom of navigation in international waters in accordance with international law.

No such respect coming from the Chinese.

        • @alvian:

Exactly. They don't seem to do much of it but their capability is increasing.

It's now more than clear what their strategy is. They're running some internal interference and some of our closest neighbours have been paid off.

    • +1

Not Phil, but I think if war between China and China(Number 1) break out, we might see issues with supplies of Apple products out of Foxconn factories in Taiwan.

Other than that, the only other major (direct) concern might be that military actions in the South China Sea might affect supplies because shipping lanes may become too dangerous to navigate. This might increase prices as demand outstrips supply.

Indirectly, war would generally depress the global economy as companies wait for it to pass before proceeding with long term plans like expansions and investments, and would both flow onto, and separately directly affect, consumer confidence leading to lower sales. This lower demand might then lead to lower prices as Apple tries to shore up sales in amidst a worsening consumer market and bleaker general economic outlook.

Long term, if the US is drawn into a conflict, you can expect the above effects to dramatically worsen, and in the event of any thermonuclear exchange, radiation levels which might require people to wear environmental suits would affect iPhone sales because touch functionality would no longer be as viable or convenient, though shorter life spans of electronics due to the same radiation might force people to replace their devices more frequently, slightly increasing demand.

      • Thanks Not Phil it's always nice to get your perspective.

      • We (Australians) will be the first on the firing lines with our largest investor and largest exporter being untradeable.
Also it could litterally be the end of the world because of the Nukes,

These are not new but rather refurbished. Quality is hit and miss.
    Rep's attitude is rather bizarre.

    • But it says

      Brand New and Genuine

    • +1

      Really?
Rep please clarify: are these BRAND NEW never opened iphone 6's or refurb/repackaged?
      Big difference. Rep?

    • -1

a small minority of people had some issues with the battery, they have since been resolved, it was found after examining the few returns we had that it was down to a batch of phones that was made early on in the apple production period. Even though these are brand new they have been sitting in a box for some time and battery's sometimes don't preserve well.

It is safe to say all those with issues have been refunded

      • +2

Actually brand new never opened or resealed?
        Please spell it out?

        • Actually brand new, NEVER opened. They are in the same seal they came in

        • +1

          @phillipdi:
OK good. You see A LOT of people bullshit with reboxed phones so it is important to be crystal clear!

        • +1

@King Tightarse: You are very correct. eBay is LITTERED with "Condition: New" and in the actual description "generic box, generic charger, generic headphones" and basically a generic phone haha

        • @phillipdi:

They are in the same seal they came in

Ok, where did they came in from?

        • @ausdday: Stock Telecommunications company's have left over that they then auction off

        • @phillipdi:

          China? Australia? US? Hong Kong?

        • @ausdday: Ahh right, well the phones are manufactured mostly in Shenzhen (Foxcon), they then get sold too the telecommunications company's and warehoused in HK where they get sent in bulk at first and then on demand later. This is the previous on demand stock of models they no longer want to have on their books (or as many on their books) so they get auctioned there in HK

        • @phillipdi: So basically HK model.

        • @hogwarts: No, they come from Telco's which are international, in this case its the A1549 which supports band 28 which supports ALL Bands 3g/4g including Band 28 in Australia

        • @phillipdi:

well the phones are manufactured mostly in Shenzhen (Foxcon),

          True

they then get sold too (sic) the telecommunications company's (sic)

True. However, such sales are usually handled by regional offices. For example, Apple USA, Apple Australia, Apple Singapore, etc.

          and warehoused in HK

Not true. Apple ship directly from China mainland, no warehousing in HK SAR.

where they get sent in bulk at first and then on demand later.

          Not true.

This is the previous on demand stock of models they no longer want to have on their books (or as many on their books) so they get auctioned there in HK

          Not true.

          [Edited for clarity]

        • @A3Australia:

Not true. Apple ship directly from China mainland, no warehousing in HK SAR.

Depends how you read it, there are two parts.

they then get sold too (sic) the telecommunications company's

          Apple sells to telcos.

          and warehoused in HK

Telcos ask to ship to HK for worldwide distribution via their own logistics which might be cheaper/easier than having Apple do it.

Utter load of bull$#!t. My box was opened and came with no sign seal. The LCD was refurbed and the bottom right edge doesn't sit properly inside. The battery is dodgy as it randomly dies.

  • +1

So a price increase from your last deal only a month ago? Struggling to see how a $10 price increase is a bargain.

    • -3

      Yep. Still a deal

      • +4

But is it a bargain though? I definitely wouldn't want to pay $10 more a month after a deal, for something which depreciates in value over time.

        • I certainly believe so based on searching all of my competitors, even most of the refurbished ones on eBay don't come as close. If you do find it cheaper somewhere (with at least 10pcs not a personal sale) please send it too me :)

There were a few issues with 1/2 people who had the battery issue, their issue was resolved with a full refund in their case.

      • Is that "half people" or "One out of every Two, people" or are you attempting to use the Slash (/) as an Or statement? Surely you know exactly how many were affected? Using a / between a 1 and 2 usually means Half.

I'm now wondering what Half a person looks like, which half is missing? Or are they just Half-sized People? As in smaller than average

I have major issues with this retailer.

Not only a history of misleading statements re what is meant by 'sealed', but their combative responses when it comes to failing to deliver.

You can see the carnage in prior posts here and here.

    I wouldn't touch anything he's selling.

          No….
So when you test a phone its important to put it in the right box, so we printed a simple sticker and put it in the plastic envelope around the phone while testing so it would not get lost/mis packaged…

The stickers were also on the BACK of the boxes, Some people just got two stickers, that's all.

  • +4

    Please be aware that:-
One can purchase exact copies of Apple iPhone boxes from several sellers in China.
The labels can be customised to include the capacity and the IMEI and serial numbers requested by the buyer.
These boxes can be ordered with copies of the charger, earphones, and cable.

    • -4

      Could you show us where?
Even putting iPhone box in eBay yields nothing but second hand boxes, no seals at $15 each plus $7 for postage
      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Original-iPhone-6s-Plus-BOX-only…

      • Could you show us where?
Even putting iPhone box in eBay yields nothing but second hand boxes, no seals at $15 each plus $7 for postage

As it is illegal to sell or supply counterfeit goods, both eBay and AliExpress have removed such listings.

However, China being China, there are still plenty of places to purchase counterfeit Apple iPhone boxes. For example, DHGate.com

    • -5

I'm sure its possible, but I mean you can anything can be faked, I don't think there can be "exact" copy's in existence but they might look like the real thing I just haven't seen any specifically in my travels

    • +4

One OZBer reported the one he received from this seller had a sticker on a piece of paper inside the box - basically, whoever refurbished it was too lazy to even put the sticker in the right place to fake it better.

      • +3

So this seller is actually using the box and sticker sets discussed here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/389959#comment-6139480 ?
Wow that is ban-level dodginess, I would think

      • -3

        No….
That was a tested phone, we put the sticker in the plastic pocket when we took out the phone so we knew which box it belonged in.

        • we put the sticker in the plastic pocket when we took out the phone so we knew which box it belonged in 9sic0.

          Huh?

        • -2

@A3Australia: So when testing some phones, you take it out of the box, and you put it in a plastic envelope, then you put a piece of paper with the model number written on it inside the envelope so you know what box to put it back in. That way you can't get it mixed up

        • +1

          @phillipdi:

The only way that you can take the label out of the box, is if the label was in the box in the first place.

Apple sticks these labels ON the OUTSIDE of the box during packaging.

The counterfeit Apple boxes can be ordered with customised counterfeit labels. These labels are supplied separately - ie. not affixed to the boxes.

        • +4

@phillipdi: so they are not brand new then. If sealed has been broken for you to test and resealed back, it's no longer new.

        • +5

          @runamuck: You got it.

        • +4

          @phillipdi:
WOW So not "NEW AND SEALED" as in sealed by Apple (sealed by YOU with fake box and sticker packs does not count) or at the very least re plastic sealed with shrink seal IE NOT NEW
          OK utter bullshit then
          FFS

        • -2

@runamuck: that's not even close. I'm certain you can understand the difference between testing something and using it. If you can't see the distinction then there's nothing I can do for you.

        • +2

          @phillipdi:
That's not even close to what you said here:-

Anyway, the next batch here will not require my testing, the will not need to be opened … The next phones won't be tested by me at all.

      • +2

Make that two. Me had the same.

  • +6

Need to neg this. If we can helped more OZBers realised OP's BS, it is worth it.
Caught him lying in black and white previously. These aren't new iPhones. They are refurbished ones.

This does not change the facts.

        You are selling refurbished/repaired iPhones.

        Refurbished/repaired with counterfeit Apple parts.

Using counterfeit Apple boxes, with counterfeit Apple labels, and with (at least in some cases) counterfeit Apple accessories.

        • +1
