If the owner of a particular property chooses to cancel your booking (via the booking agent, Agoda in this case) and readvertises this at a higher rate, how is this Agoda's fault? If I were you I would never set foot in that property!
Long story, but the owner told me when I originally booked that it was already booked.
They readvertised for much higher when I had an existing valid booking.
I complained to Agoda, who then cancelled my booking (not the owner).
They wouldn't escalate the issue for me.Thankfully for me, this isn't an overseas trip whereby you rock up to discover you don't have accomodation, or they shaft you just before you leave.
It is Agoda's problem because they are complicit with the price jacking deception.
Agree it is a dodgy owner, but I'll never use Agoda again because they leave you high and dry.
Amex still has 10%
Sure it isn't 12% ?
I am in the process of booking hotels for my Europe trip, and Agoda has always been a fair bit more expensive compared to Booking.com and Expedia… Cbb with price matching
I made a booking on Agoda, owner claimed it was already booked.
Agoda then cancelled MY booking and then the owner raised the price and advertised the property as available.
They are not helpful, I wouldn't trust them.
