Q> I'm not seeing the prices listed above
A> Prices above are valid for users who are signed into eBay with a valid eBay plus subscription

Q> I have a private PayPal account (non-business) - I seem to have been charged more than I should have been?
A> PayPal have charged your funding source (paypal balance, visa, mastercard, bank account) the correct amount; even though the transaction will appear to have a higher value than the buy-it-now price. Private PayPal accounts don't have a good way of viewing PayPal transaction funding sources. You have been charged the correct advertised amount, a 3rd part has contributed the shipping costs noted in the transaction amount. Business Paypal users can check the Funding Sources section of the transaction to view where the funding for the transaction came from. I haven't found a good way to view the funding sources on a private paypal account.

Q> How long until items are shipped
A> Check the listing estimated delivery for shipping details. Almost all items are sold from in-stock items and are shipped the same business day if ordered before 3pm. You will receive a tracking notification when the item is packaged. The item will be then moved to Australia Post for delivery either the same day or the following day depending on transaction time. You can check the auspost website for tracking information.

  • Good prices!

I wouldn't bother with the powerboards.

Have had 2 out of 4 fail, much better to pay the extra 40c to have a no fuss return with Bunnings if needed.

    • -8

Depends on your definition of no fuss.

To me, dropping a faulty one off for FREE at the post office is quicker than heading to bunnings to replace a faulty item. I am biased though being associated :).

Remember, we warrant all products, ebay pays return postage for ebay plus members :).

      • +2

So does the Post Office give me a new one on the spot once I drop it off?

        • -3

Definition of no fuss I guess. For some people, and there are a lot; a bunnings trip isn't viable.

No wonder parcels end up there rather than being delivered to people's homes.

          @MorriJ:

Bunnings open til 9pm weekdays. Refund/exchange on the spot.

Australia Post open til 5pm, and have to wait for exchange or possibly refund. Pass.

      • +3

Yeah I'd much rather head to the post office and wait a week than get either, a FREE replacement or refund right then and there…

  • Can we still use Xiaofang camera be use outside China?

    • would like to know this as well

is the xiaofang still the best camera to use as a cheap security cam?

      • If it does work, it is a value for money camera

          Latest firmware works within Australia.
We will upgrade the firmware before sending out.

We have 50+ customers across Australia that the latest firmware is A-OK with.
It can always change in the future, so would recommend leaving on the firmware we ship it with.

          Cheers,
          James

        • @MorriJ:

I have 2 camera working with mi Home version 5.1.17. Can the new firmware work with it? If yes i will buy

        • @LoveBargain15: I don't have a device with v5.1.17 on it at the moment, I can load an android up a bit later tonight and check on that version of Mi Home.

I am typically running the latest version (5.3.15) and it's all working.

I'll confirm for you (bit busy at the moment) and send you a PM if you like.

          Cheers,
          James

        • @MorriJ:

Sorry it is 5.1.16, yes please if you can confirm if it works with my version. Which i am looking to buy 2 more at least.

        • @LoveBargain15: "Download: Mi Home 5.1.16 (Android 4.0.3+)."

I'll let you know a bit later whether the cameras on the latest firmware work as expected with 5.1.16. Have a few things to do including prepping around 100 orders to go out, but will try and let you know tonight.

          Cheers,
          James

        • @MorriJ:

Thanks. If it is possible to check piror the expiry of 10% off would be much appreciated.

        • @LoveBargain15: Will do, give me a few more minutes. I put 2 aside if it works.

        • @MorriJ: mine stopped working after the last firmware update, is there anyway I could update the firmware. I can't connect to the cam via mihome app

        • +1

@OZB fan: You can flash it using the SD Card.

If you pull it apart, can also flash over serial or ssh.

          https://github.com/samtap/fang-hacks/wiki/HowTo:-Flash-original-Xiaomi-firmware-from-sdcard-(factory-reset)

There is an autostart script you can add to the card if its not flashing properly when you press the setup button on boot as well, cant remember it offhand.

Not being able to connect to it via Mi Home App shouldnt be too much of an issue. These are relatively hard to brick.

        • +1

          @OZB fan: OK,

Just tested on devices with both 3 & 5 variants of the firmware on the actual cameras.

Can connect to both cameras fine using Mi Home 5.1.16 via both WIFI and over the 4G network (no wifi), no issues. My Mi Home is set to Mainland China for the servers and english for the app version.

I used the later mi home to perform upgrade on the one we are selling to the latest version, all ok from both latest mi home app and the 5.1.16 variant.

I've got two that arent listed if you are interested OZB Fan. PM me.

  • nothing special about the google mini price

    • -2

We are trying. It's the best price to discount range we can find at the moment. Feel free to post the cheaper deals here, I will remove them from the listing if they are overpriced.

Arlec White 4 Outlet Surge Protected Powerboard
    incorporates surge protection circuitry
    Joule Rating 75

Since its recommended you have 200+j surge protection in the city & 400+j in rural areas. This is fairly pointless for surge protection.

You're better off getting the hpm boss. It costs more but offers much better protection.
