  • Does anyone know roughly what kind of level of product value you get back?

    25%? 50%?

I honestly don't know how they can refurbish their furniture. They're all reinforced by a cardboard honeycomb and the smallest amount of moisture blisters their surfaces

I honestly don't know how they can refurbish their furniture

      They dont.

They give you back probably 20% - 30% of the purchase value in a voucher form in the hope that you will spend a couple of hundred dollars in store

The markup margin for ikea is high, i would say at least 300% based on my observation of quality vs price so they are not losing much

And Ikea gets a nice tax break and/or incentive from the government for keeping furniture off the streets

    • They are reselling in the cheap section with a recycle sticker at the buy back price.

A lot of the pieces I saw returned looked brand new still.

    Recently took up this offer
    Quite straight forward and quick
Sold back a storage system I bought close to a year ago. They gave me close to 40% back in the form of a store card.
Store cards last only 90 days though.

    TLDR.

(Can we please first state what's the deal about and not just copy-paste some lengthy "How does it work" stuff?)

OP, please mark as SYD / NSW only - I assumed Tempe was some Swedish word for used, not a suburb in southern Sydney…

    • it's actually a suburb

    • Begagnade is Swedish word for used
