  • Omg! I paid more for this just a few weeks ago too! (This is a good price).

  • +1

    Love their list price.

  • reduced from $1049……oh man i hope no one paid that price

    • +4

That's such BS, showing 2x RRP as their normal listing price.

  • Are 2 of there more bang for buck than a gtx1080ti for crypto rig.

    Any experts out there

    • 5 seconds of googling suggests even 3 1060s would be slower or about the same as the 1080 Ti

      also energy cost

      crypto is so 2017 man

I think the market is really dropping fast

      • Hmmmm my 1000 plus BTC doesnt agree with your statement.

        • just looking at the market..
It has been dropping…all the coins

how much your coins worth now compared to last year.

It has been reported that the price of BTC has been artificially inflated..

The problem with Bitcoin is the hackers are able to steal it so easily from the exchanges
and you got be sure your coins are safe if kept on your pc..

Also new type of crypto coins are getting created everyday
so that the original creator can get rich off it with their initial share etc..

BTC is the next IT bubble
          just wait till it crash…

It will be the biggest crash in history.

1000 Australian dollars worth or 1000 BTC?

You saying you have over $8 million AUD worth of bitcoin?

        • @AlienC: There is a lot more than that, and under $100 each. Anyone that says its to late are trying way to late bud. Just gotta Hold Hold and Hold. (profanity) thinking its a short term cash in. those days are over..
My daily returns have nothing to do with holding though, so the prices are irrelevant to me.

Ohh, People that say it is over, obviously have no actual knowledge. I however live and breath Crypto!!!

        • @ReviewAndGiveaway:

So you bought 1000+ bitcoin at less than $100 each?

And have not sold any yet?

Is that what you are saying?

Oh man give me some dude haha lol that is banging.

          @AlienC:

If he actually got 1000 BTC, he could sell it and be $8,786,233 rich and not need to work for the rest of his life.

Something tells me he is bullshitting or exaggerating and probably does not have that many or something else is off about his story.

        • @pinkybrain: yeah I'm gonna go with bluffing.. your call review

        • +2

          1000 BTC and on ozbargain…. 🤣

        • @ReviewAndGiveaway: totally agree, negative comments about crypto (which is typical as people generally don't like change) shows the lack of understanding of the block-chain and how it is revolutionising the world. The technology is still in its infancy, however once developed/completed and regulators have come to an agreement, the finance market will then move in, as will follow the rest of the world which will shoot the prices of the coins to the moon (increase significantly). This is only a matter of time and now, while the market is down, is a great time to get in. But which coins will rise and which shall fall is the question.

@ParkG: Im just correcting a bad statement from someone that I assume isnt in the know. As far as my own btc, then Ive already said to much and no ones biz. However if your aggressively into BTC, chances are you already deal with me some time or another. Thats enough for now but saying that, No one wants to pay retail for anything.
Just hold your coins if you have and stop listening to media hype. Just a correction for now. People have forgotten what has happened in the last 7 yrs of crypto and focus on 6 months. Meh.

As far as my statement about the card. I have a few rigs running 2gb GPU's, been thinking of putting GTX 1080ti but didnt see the point at past price point. This however I found interesting and I havent paid for electricity for years.

  • Hmmm interesting

  • +1

Daily reminder that Futu, Shopping Express and Shallothead are the same company.

Similar cards in the US are starting to be sold at a GST-equivalent price of $310, and $360-$370 looks like the standard US price.

These cards are so old now that paying at or above MSRP is just throwing your money away. 3 months from now you'll be able to pocket an 1160, which will be a beastly 1440p card, for roughly the same amount of money.

    • +4

Ah, it wouldn't be a GPU thread without jasswolf coming with his speculative numbers :)

Yes, new cards are coming, and it wouldn't hurt to wait, but it doesn't change the fact that at this very moment in time, this is a cheap option for this card, without trying to predict the future.

      • -3

Yeah, because my post mentioned nothing about US price drops.

A few days ago, Gigabyte warned their investors that they would be dropping prices due to a huge drop in demand. That's the here and now.

As for predictions, I've explained many times why they are solid, and you've shown absolutely no ability to contest that information with anything logical beyond 'we don't exactly know'. We don't exactly know a lot of things that we rely on every day, but it's really not that hard to fill in the gaps a lot of the time. Try and find something else to do with your day until you can express a more substantial set of facts.

    • +1

Sorry that should be $360 and $370 as the standard AU price (not US)

    • This might be pure cognitive bias because I just bought one, but waiting for new tech will mean waiting forever.

      • +1

It's definitely about backing in your call at a given time, but you've certainly done better than people who bought between January and April.

But I'm sorry to say you might be kicking yourself in a fortnight, and then again in September.

        • is it worth buying intel 8xxx series atm? I wanna get started on my new PC build and enjoy doing bits at a time. I'll get the CPU and mobo now while waiting for a good gpu and high refresh rate monitor deals.

        • +1

@McCree: it's holding at MSRP, so not really.

Is there a particular game or time frame you have for your build? Because Zen 2 and Intel's 10 nm might be worth hanging out for mid next year. DRAM prices are also shocking.

        • @jasswolf: Not really rushing to build but within a few months I'd say. I agree DRAM prices are disgusting compared to what I'm used to seeing them at.

        • +1

@McCree: 7 nm/10 nm is a huge step up from what's there today… if you're upgrading from anything after Haswell, just wait it out (and maybe dabble in trying to push past 3.8-4.0 GHz OC). Intel's IPC gains have been low for a long, long time.

What kind of PCIE slot are you rocking right now? If you're eyeing off an 1160 or 1170, PCIE 2.0 16x or PCIE 3.0 8x shouldn't be a bottleneck if you want to try and stretch out your hardware a little longer.

is this ok for rainbow6 siege @ 144hz

    • What settings?

R6:S seems to have recommended specs of:

      GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 or AMD Radeon HD 7970 / R9 280 X

Which the GTX1060 should be fine with.

    • Should be fine.
