    Switch tax…

    • I know right? To get this on PC I'd be paying 1/3 of the cost. The portable/switch tax is so unreal.

I cannot justify any third party switch games unless they're Indies and the price disparity isn't too big.

I'll just keep waiting for jb/Eb to do their 15% eShop cards…

Although I don't want to justify the extra costs, it's not like this game launched at $30 on the other systems. Plus another studio ported this. There are some understandable additional costs involved with this version.

The thing that bugs me with Switch more than anything else is how the ports consistently hold their price longer than the other versions

Skyrim SE dropped to sub $40 about 3 months after it launched on PS4/XB1 whereas the Switch version (launched in November last year) has yet to see any significant price drop if it's even had one at all. It's ridiculous.

Even worse is that Has Been Heroes is $4 on XB1, PS4 and PC at EB Games right now. Switch version is still $40. All released same day. All got bad reviews. All EB exclusive. Obsurd.

        • That's Nintendo games for you though, they retain their prices for the longest possible. It's just part of the deal when you're playing Nintendo consoles, you'll be paying a premium for your preference and convenience.

Panic button have done well with their port and I hope they continue to do so well more games but wish they were at least timed closer to release instead of sometime after where like you've mentioned, the prices on other platforms have dropped significantly. We're still in the first few years of the console, going to hit some sort of tipping point where ports are quicker and we can justify third party ports with first party prices.

Did it get bad reviews though? I thought it was mediocre at best but at $4 it's a steal, just not worth it on switch…even though I see a lot of praise on the subreddit.

        • Celeste is ~$5 on pc, $30 on switch. I'd still get it in a heart beat though.

Another poor example is inside, because it just came out vs a while ago on PC.

  • Nah mate, waiting until it's $39.

  • Got it from Amazon AU before for $72 plus new user code so $52 (plus some cheap stuff to make it $79)
