This product and this price has Dr Prepper's seal of approval

have tried this product the last time it was on offer at WW
cant figure out why its highly rated here
find it no better or worse than another product

    • I agree re the product, but it is a bargain price-wise.

      • absolutely a bargain at current price

  • I find Natio shaving products to be better, and they're available at a similar price in gift sets from priceline.

    • I find that the most basic shaving cream that Coles have is pretty good with a Gillette Fusion blade and provides a decent quality shave.

      • lol I must belong to the previous generation
still use a shaving brush, and shaving cream
        and a safety razor
ensure my blade is dry after shaving
        to prolong its life

decades ago I had tried a twin blade, never liked it
stuck to the single blade since

Agreed, safety razor better shave and WAY cheaper in my opinion. I bought I box of razors a couple of years ago for about $30, will probably last me the rest of my life.

    You bloody ripper

yeah after using this for a while I find it a bit meh………..it soaks into your face and it ends up feeling like you're dry shaving. Maybe I am using it wrong :P

I use the King of Shaves oil, I think it's much better than any shave gel.
I hope the oil is also on sale?

edit: yes I see the oil is also half price. I highly recommend this!

      • Oil is good for travelling as it's tiny bottle but I don't like it for regular shaves as don't find it work as well as the gel.

    • agree it does feel a little dry when compared to others
the one I tried was shave and moisturizer 2 in 1
Since it tries to do two things, it ends up not doing each effectively

Love this stuff. No nicks, ever, and minimal mess.

  • What do Ozbargainers use as razors? I have been using the Aldi ones but find they clog much too easily.

Safety razor/wet razor, costs about $60 up front and $15 for a box of 100 blades, the 100 blades will last many years.

      • I bought an expensive (for me) one at Shaver shop- metal, made in Europe
Again I must have been unlucky as the plastic one I have seems to do a better job

      • Seconded. I have been using a safety razor for the past 2 years and will never go back. I also still have boxes of blades from when I originally purchased.

        • Thanks guys. Any safety razor will be the same then as it's the blades that matter?

      • I use a Mingshi which costs SFA from Ali Express:
        https://www.badgerandblade.com/forum/threads/merkur-future-a…

Or there's the milder weishi (also SFA from Ali Express): https://groomingessentialsblog.com/weishi-safety-razor-revie…

Only recently started using safety razor after 20 years with rotary electrics, but getting good smooth shaves without rash or cuts. To get it real smooth you need to do a few passes.

Trick is to get a decent shaving cream (I use proraso) and lather it up good with a brush, go gentle and with the grain. If you want a better shave, then do it again across or against the grain (or both if you have time). Finish with cold water wash, crystal alum (like a crystal deoderant stick), witch hazel, and a moisturiser balm. Shaving cream can be hard to get in stores, but the rest you can grab cheap from a chemist.

I was in the US last year and stocked up on some cheaper Harry's razors https://www.harrys.com/en/us.

Works for me. Although I shave 2/3 times a week I don't go through blades very quickly, it helps to shave immediately after a shower - don't dry off, just shave.

I find the Nivea sensitive tube performs WAY better than this gel, at similar cost. King of Shaves dries out way too fast.

i just use olive oil in a bottle meh, does the job no need to spend money on these "creams/oils"

    • isn't olive oil among the more expensive vegetable oils?
would home brand do a good enough job?
      just saying…. :)

      • haha probably have a go and report back :)

        • no thanks I'll stick to shaving creams thanks :)

  • Just don't get the 2-in-1 moisturiser one.

The gel based ones are great.

Nivea sensitive is best one shave foam or gel for me. It does not contain ethanol and menthol.

I also grab a BladeBuddy sharpener from big w at 12 bucks for refresh or re-sharp my Gillette or Schick razor prior each shaving.

Nivea post shave balm always stock in my bathroom

Maca root cream from the body shop is the best shave cream I've ever used. currently $14 for 200mL (save $5) or $9 for the 125mL (save $7). Nivea gels, Gellete gels and this shave oil don't come close. Tried them all. read the Reviews https://www.thebodyshop.com/en-au/skincare/mens/c/c00147

  • Hot towel followed by Soap and hot water then strait razor. Perfect clean shave everytime. No need for products

    • Hot towel? How do you make it hot?
      Do you iron it?
