Just received this email from Lenovo. ThinkPad Edge will be refreshed soon so I think they are trying to sell the stock. I have also previously looking for a 14" notebook because (1) I always had 14" over the last 7-8 years (2) they are lighter/more portable than 15" and at the same screen resolution. ThinkPad Edge 14 came up near the top of my list because of its awesome keyboard, but I ended up spending a bit more & got a T410 instead (from previous deal).

  • ThinkPad Edge 14
  • Intel Core i5-560M
  • Windows 7 Home Premium
  • 4GB DDR3
  • 500GB HDD 7200RPM
  • DVD Writer
  • 6 Cell
  • 1 Year Return to Base warranty
  • $799

There are other deals going on at Lenovo.

  • which model is the lightest one ?

    • X series

  • Good choice Scotty for T410. I dont think Edge are as durable as T410 without roll cage. I have a 14" and now I think, I will got for a 15". Bigger is better ;)

  • damn….great price! although its such a shame that Levono has purposely excluded the "Heat wave Red" selction from this deal……

  • I got a T410 for 900 AUD total shipped from the US

You'd be stupid to buy these sort of products from Australia.

Use a forwarder like forward it or priceusa or shipito

    • True, I was also thinking to do the same, but last month deal, I was getting T510 i7 with quadro display for 1450 with 35% off. It was expensive from US site.
So it depends, if you want to take that risk from US or get it from Australia from the right deal.
Also, you can only bring the base models of T series from US, as Customs exemption is up to 1000 dollars.

      • Does Lenovo ThinkPad comes with international warranty?

I bought the top of the range T410 (although with only i5-580M) + 3 Year NBD because I pretty much require it for work.

        • Yes international warranty on T series from USA. Called Lenovo Aus to confirm this as well.

gagan you're right, you need to pay GST if you're getting anything other than a base model. But then again most people buy base models. But funny thing is even after GST, full price in USA is still cheaper than the super discounted prices in Australia.

  • I thought they had released a weird new model for a second there scotty x210 , its still the x201 though :)

    • Ha. Fixed. Too excited about getting my Lenovo, as I have been a Dell laptop user for the last 11 years. Was happy with Dell though.

  • I am thinking of getting a x201 .. still cheaper to get it from the US though =/

  • I bought one of Thinkpad Edge 15". Great price compared to some of the other manufaturers around. I do hate how it costs more to get a 14" over a 15".
