Beko BDP83HW 8kg Sensor Controlled Hybrid Heat Pump Dryer - $1028 from Appliances Online

EOFY2018

Shame it cant be used with the 10% Ebay code. Got another smaller code. However, this is a substantial discount on a new model.

Excellent for those who missed out on the Bosch deal. This one comes with a 5 year warranty (Extended for free). The key feature vs anything else is RapidDry. It can add conventional heating for super fast drying at the expense of power use economy (Rated A+ European rating vs A+++/8 Starts AU when in purely heat pump mode).

Only a few reviews, but the exact same UK model is one of the best rated on the market.

Also has the reverse function for bed linen and towels unlike the Bosch Series 8.

  • LEGEND. i was bummed to miss out on that bosh deal but this makes it better!!

    • I just ordered one too.

  • Beko are cheap rubbish sold by a company that doesn't give a damn about product safety. They have been involved in a huge number of house fires and deaths in the UK and have a pattern of covering them up.

Good luck if you buy one, make sure your will is up to date. Why people buy this crap is beyond me.

    • Nonsense that is less safe than other brands. The issue in the UK is related to non-venting of vented dryers in small apartments. This dryer listed is a top end dryer and does not need venting as it does not generate heat/condensation like an old school vented dryer. It is 8 star rated and meets AU standards.

Biggest offender of dryer fires Whirpool followed by Bosch and Hoover:

They sell a lot less and they are involved in more fires and cover-ups then any other company. What about the fridges that caught fire? The dishwashers? All those Beko appliances that caught fire met UK standards which are basically the same as Australian standards.

And what about the multiple Beko condenser dryers that have been recalled because of fire risk, so high end non venting dryers of Beko are recalled yet you claim it's only vented dryers and the customers fault.

Beko are dangerous products, the company doesn't give a damn about safety so why would anyone buy these products? Only consumers who don't research or only want the cheapest rubbish no matter what the cost would buy their products. Maybe they should offer a free fire extinguisher with every appliance?

Refrigerator Fires - Beko involved in 25% of fires with only 12% market share….

"Beko was linked to a quarter of refrigeration fires that occurred between 1 April 2014 and 31 March 2016. These were fires linked to faulty appliances and leads and where the brand was identified. Euromonitor’s estimates put Beko’s market share at around half of that. "

"It is understood around 500,000 Beko fridge freezers made between 2000 and 2006 have a fault with the defrost timer that can cause a fire."

"An investigation carried out by The Sun newspaper has revealed that 428 fires between 2014 and 2016 were blamed on Hotpoint appliances.

Meanwhile, 226 were caused by Indesit products and 201 on Beko items, according to the figures obtained by the newspaper under the Freedom of Information Act."

Beko covered up dangerous fridges for over 4 years.

"More than 500,000 potentially dangerous fridge-freezers have been sold in the UK, and Beko is in the process of writing to its customers to arrange modifications."
