  • Good find! =)

Looking at the listing revision history, the price of it could have been changed around 5.39PM (reducing item price and adding extra postage).

    • +3

yeah, the jacked up postage is distorting what people would save with free postage under ebay plus in the future ..
seen lots of smaller items that used to be free postage or around $6 all of sudden have $19.95 postage jacked onto it …….

if sellers sell via their web site they can save the ebay commission, and they sure as hell wouldn’t charge $19.95 for an ssd for delivery …..

be interesting what happens after the free trial, who stays on the subscription and which seller keep jacked postage costs.

      • Or if most sellers will make multiple listings for the same item or not lol

      • For sellers that are rorting the ebay plus system

I don't understand how ebay can be stupid to pay $20 shipping fee for a microSD that probably will just be sent in a $1 envelope

There are also startrak/auspost etc that only charged $7 shipping fee in metro areas..and not interstate..
And even on those sellers actual site, they do not charge $20 shipping.

so I still don't understand how ebay is letting those sellers rort the ebayplus system..

      • I have dealt with them a few times. On the free shipping items I have purchased from them, they have actually used AusPost signed for registered mail which would account for the A$19.995 postage costs. This item in original packaging is not all that big and buly and would weigh around 50g gross.

This is a good deal even with this postage cost. Not a jacked up rippoff at all imho.

  • rather get the 970

    • is there any noticeable difference?

Every day usage not really noticeable. 970 is a bit faster and more durable.

        • These are good products, I have the earlier generation 960 Pro 1 TB. Very fast, however one caveat. Make sure you have the latest Samsung firmware available & Magician software installed on pc (if you can) prior to installation of this ssd, else perfect.

        • @et tu brute: you had problems without the firmware + software?
what if it'll be the boot drive ..

        • @sssx:
Sorry for the delay with this response. We have had a scheduled power blackout most of todaty.
No, I haven't had any problems. This was the advice I had read either on the Samsung webisite or elsewhere. I just installed the Samsung firmware and the software onto a USD thumb drive and ensured that the PC could boot up from the USB drive from within the pc's Bios. I had purchased an Intel NUC7i7BNH. This was the easiest PC 'build' ever… I says 'build' which technically it was, except it took me about 15-20 mins, not including the installation of Windows 10 Pro which in itself took a couple of hours. Just a few screws, to femove base from cover, insert RAM, attach 2 x drives, re-attach base to cover, attach monitor, mouse & keybord. In fact all firmware & software for the Intel NUC, the Samsung drives etc. and Windows 10 were loaded onto separate USB drives in advance of the 'build'. Insert USB sticks in that order and the job was done.

Anyway, the Samsung 960 Pro 1TB is a great drive and the Magician software keeps it all up to date and hopefully warn me in advance of any potential issues. They are dead silent and cool in operation. The newer 970 drives are now cheaper than my purchase, possibly an introductory price.

          Cheers
          etb :)
