DESCRIPTION

Thermal Ice Cream Bowl with Scraper Paddle

Add Homemade Ice Cream to Your Mixing Repertoire

Homemade ice cream not only tastes yummy, it's also better for you and your family as it is preservative free. You can be as creative as you want with flavours or simply stick to the classics. But whatever you make, it's sure to be a hit. Whip up ice cream, gelato and frozen yoghurt in as little as 20 minutes.

Simply pre-freeze the bowl, add the ingredients and the innovative scraper paddle does the rest. It scrapes the sides of the 2 litre thermal bowl while aerating the ice cream for a fast and creamy result.

Now that's cool.

Note:

  • The Freeze & Mix is an attachment suitable for Breville's planetary mixers, BEM825, BEM820, BEM800, BEM430 and BEM410, and is not suitable for use with any other mixers.

Careful. You need to have a Breville mixer already, as this is just an attachment

    • +8

Thanks man. Nearly jumped on this

      • +11

Same. I got very excited for a moment

      • +24

        Nearly jumped on this

That's definitely not covered under the warranty.

    • Almost hit buy

  • +21

$30 seems like an appropriate price for a bowl that goes in your freezer.

    • +1

      So true.

  • +1

    Ozbargainer buy one first.

  • +6

Seem to have a number of reports of the inner bowl developing holes and the internal cooling fluid leaking into your recipe… Chemical ice magic!

    • +1

Mine is going strong for 5 years since November 2011

  • +3

Yeah. Not sure how they get $179 for a basic Icecream machine.

  • Out of stock, I hope you guys who bought one actually have the mixer
    edit: back again?

  • Got one of these for free 2 years ago when I bought the dual bowl mixer package, have used it a handful of times - so far so good. Definitely not worth $179 though.

  • +3

put a warning in that it's an attachment, i got real excited and nearly pulled the trigger.

  • -3

    But does it have B28?

  • +2

I made a mistake buying one at $39. Ended up throwing to the bin. Too troublesome to use especially for the kids. Ice cream did not taste any better than what we bought from the supermarkets, most of the time even worst.

    • +2

Very strange….wife's home made ice cream (and sorbet) not made with this exact device but on the same sort of machine (freezing tub with paddle - manual so grunt work involved) absolutely slaughters commercial icecream. Note - opinion from dinner guests as well as myself.

  • I know it says it ain't, but is this attachment unofficially supported by the Kitchenaid mixers? Is there maybe an adapter that'll get it to work?

    • No. Get the KitchenAid one

These are a gimmick. Ice cream machines aren't fun in small scale.

    • +1

Not too many ozbargainers in need of industrial scale ice cream makers though. Not sure my freezer would have room to store it all.

      • +1

That's why most people don't have ice cream machines and don't have this.

  • +1

"…it's also better for you and your family as it is preservative free"

I gave up ice cream for awhile when I saw all the ingredients. But hey, now I know it's actually better for me and the family…

  • Pretty sure this was free with the mixer so not sure why anyone would need this

    • That was only a limited promotion. I remember missing out.

  • +1

After using both styles of ice cream maker (frozen bowel vs plug in refrigerated) the refrigerated units are far better. The refrigerated Breville unit is more costly but worth it if you intend to use it a lot.

    • +1

Yeah, always avoid the frozen bowel, sign you're eating waaaay too much icecream.

  • +5

This is a tool. If you say it's a boring gimmick or it makes terrible icecream, then that's a reflection of your own imagination and cooking ability.

I've had this exact bowl for 5 years since 2011 and it's one of my favourite buys from OzB. Icecream made with a proper custard base and full fat cream is just on another level to store bought icecream. Super easy way to impress a crowd.

You can also make booze slushies!

  • Much appreciated, was marked out of stock but managed to find one still in store at same price. Been searching for a while for a good deal on this thing to mess around with, but have only found the previous model for cheap which is apparently not compatible with my mixer.

Looking forward to seeing what creations and/or abominations we can come up with!
