    • Bags $106 each way.
    • Bags & Meals $173 each way.

Also is your previous deal expired?

    • $60+ for airline food is pretty steep!

      • +5

You probably don't really want to pay for Scoot food anyway, it's not great. Better off having a hot meal in Changi and bring some snacks onboard. Just buy what you really have to onboard.

    • This seems to be a three week sale, only until the end of June. Unrelated (well as far as I can tell).

  • Where are some cheap places to travel Dec-Feb or so?

    • +1

      Look at Skyscanner

Do you mean cheap as in lowest cost or cheap as in best value? And are you referring to flight costs or destination costs?

All year round the cheapest 10 destinations from Sydney are pretty much the same and merely get re-ordered amongst themselves and inflated December-February (Christmas period is in it's own world). New Zealand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, China, the Philippines etc are the usual suspects. Of course New Zealand and Singapore are much more expensive in terms of accommodation

If booking in advance, the "best value" flights (proportional to the mean) are normally the more expensive ones (i.e. Europe) since unlike flights to Asia they don't all become 2x to 3x the price. But not every European destination is enticing in winter. And despite lower accommodation costs, outside the holiday season the prices are still generally higher than SE Asia.

Cheers, appreciate the insight. Will have to think about it better.

    • December, all bets are off with Christmas. Feb we sometimes find cheap flights to Japan, NZ and more.

Does Scoot fly over airspace such as Ukraine?

    • +4

      India, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey

      via Flightradar24 and Previous flights

Ukraine is probably too far north for a Singapore flight anyway.

    • No commercial airlines fly over the eastern Ukranian border area now.

  • why are there no flights from ATH to SYD after 20th Oct!?

  • Is ScootBiz any good? I’m not expecting it to be comparable to business on a full fare airline, but is it better than economy in a full fare? Because the prices are similar for ScootBiz vs e.g. Thai Airways economy. Thanks

I flew Scootbiz to Singapore. Its better than economy…bigger seat but realistically its more like premium economy.

    • Yeah it is like premium economy. Seats are quite wide, but don't lie flat or anything.
From memory we paid about $250 to upgrade at the airport when flying to Singapore (original flight was $149 but oh well)

    • I flew Scoot economy Melbourne to Singapore then got a cheap Scootbiz from Singapore to Melbourne. While its not as good as business class for other airlines, as you would expect of the cost, its a significant jump above Economy. I have heard people compare it to Premium Economy, but I would rate it as slightly above that. Bigger seat, more space, less people in the area, better food, etc.

I wasted my holidays for this year already, but if 1k flights with scootbiz to Athens come up ever again I will be jumping on it.

Not worth it imo when flights are selling for around $900 China Air and even $1100 Korean Air.

Hot tippity-tip, You get a 15% off scoot voucher when signing up to "Scoot insider". https://www.flyscoot.com/en/scootinsider
To sweeten this deal- About 2 days after booking your first flight they email you a 40% off voucher. So- if planning to travel as a couple, it may pay off to buy the first ticket with the 15% off, wait for the 40% off, then buy the second.

*note- it works out to be less than 15% off/less than 40% off- i think they take it off the fare but not the airport tax or something.. Still less than the full price either way

    • +1

You might get lucky but generally the flights you can use the voucher on are very limited.

Which are the flights that I can use my Scoot Insider vouchers on?

To use your Scoot Insider vouchers, look out for flights with “Scoot Insider Voucher*” flagged beside it!

There was a deal post with this 15% discount voucher a while back and many commenters said they couldn't use it.

I've booked Scoot before, never got a 40% off voucher. Could be risky waiting for a discount code you may never get, prices could go up in the meantime.

      • Ah fair enough.. yeah i got lucky with some flights to Vietnam a while ago

      • I never got my voucher too until I booked a flight. Also be careful about Scoot filling in random expiry dates and double charging baggage fees. I got stung on double baggage fees, whilst a mate got a random passport expiry that cost $70 to fix.

    • +1

FLYNOW is the current promotion 20% off but I have found recently Google flights now apply discounts to some scoot flights that are sometimes better then these discount codes.

My last booking with scoot was frustrating the price was going up and down by $100+ on a flight I booked for $250.

The scoot insider vouchers where useless to me, even the 40% one

  • +1

I think Scoot is only worthwhile if it's way cheaper than the competition. At these prices, it's pretty close to what you can get with other airlines when they have sales.

  • Is there any way, other than manually searching, when is the cheapest time to go? AKA get the price quoted in the title. Mel -> Berlin

  • +1

Any idea how to get free drinkable water on board Scoot flights?

  • The only real reason I would consider this is if I was looking at something like a relocation cruise and wanted the plane trip to go with it. A lot of the standard airlines charge nearly as much for a one way ticket as a return one.

  • Hi
Are baggages checked through to final destination?

  • So much competition in air travel that I'm finding LCCs no cheaper, or even more expensive, than FSC at times. For instance, we are going to Japan next month and flights on Thai Air (A350s and B787s all the way and back) are at least $200-300 cheaper than Scoot and AAX when luggage is taken into consideration. Flight timings are better as well with much shorter transits. No contest

    • The problem with Thai and most other airlines is they charge an extra quarter grand for luggage regardless of whether you use it or not.

      • Eh? I'm saying that with luggage, I would be paying more with Scoot or AAX. Take the luggage out of the equation and Thai are about the same or even a bit cheaper

  • Thanks OP you just got me home on the cheap!
