  • Your selected health insurance policy has not been cancelled or refunded at the time when the instalment is payable, then Bupa will pay the Cash Back Amount in equal instalments to your PayPal account from the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th month/s after the start date for the selected health cover.

For $1000, person needs to purchase “ultimate health cover “ [ around 333 per months ] where 5 installments (cash back ) will be made of $200 each.

$1000 cash back is for family cover. Online quote was $666.15/m for me

  • Also, Set up your health cover to pay with PayPal for at least 7 months. Enjoy the Bupa benefits and receive your cash back in monthly instalments commencing 3 months after joining Bupa. Stay for a second year and get your 6 weeks FREE!

  • Nothing for people who stay with bupa
    Only for switching guys

  • So, you need to stay with them for 7 months total to get the full $1000 cash back?

At $333.73 for a family will cost you $2,331 with $1000 cash back means $1,300 for 7 months cover.

Never has health cover before. Does that cover pre-existing injuries? Is there a limit to the number of visits you can make per month/year?

For dental, does it cover kids braces etc. ?

  • Compared to my current policy BUPA would cost me an ADDITIONAL $300 a month for the same cover. These guys are expen$$$ive .. :-( .. !!

Are you comparing apple to apple?

      • …or Apple to Samsung?

  • great

  • BUPA = increased premiums and less coverage each year.. I'm looking to switch AWAY from them. They go from worse to worse, with no incentives (like this deal) for existing customers to stay with them.
Would love to see any similar deals from other health insurers!

    • I've got similar issue with Bupa. the price getting higher and higher but coverage are getting lesser.

Anyway, gave them a called and mentioned that I was planning to leave and other insurers having some offers like gift card etc.

So what they offered me was:

      1. Getting 6 weeks free premium = $600 (base on my plan)

      2. Getting 4 weeks free premium = $400 + 4% off ($16 off each month) as long as I stayed with them.

So I chosen the option 2 since it's much better value to me.

  • Is it possible to stack this with the AmEx deal?

    • Probably not as you would have to pay with PayPal, so PayPal would show as the merchant, instead of Bupa

  • God I hate health insurance. Its more confusing than electricity prices.
Even if you buy the 'gold' level cover it still seems you get a max of 80% cover

  • I pay $260 with HIF for family cover (mid tier), I get the feeling its not even worth getting a quote from Bupa?

  • Was able to get a 10% BUPA discount and was quoted for a "tax threshold" policy…a lot of hospital, very little on a little extras. Stayed with Frank who was way cheaper and provided the extras I wanted (dental, optical, physio) with on par hospital cover.
