  • $1300+ here I think. Nice price.

Great price, but am a bit wary about having something this expensive posted from Amazon UK/US
Quite few stuffs I ordered from them were poorly padded with scrunched paper, if at all and boxes arriving with actual puncture holes or tears on them (!!)
    Shocking.
Particularly since this receiver is 10kg and the courier might be tempted to be bit careless coz its heavy to lift around.
I'll be using a credit card with purchase insurance but won't it be annoying when you found out something in the unit has rattled loose due to poor handling and you don't know what it will affect.

I noted the top reviews on the deal linked spoke of the reviewers dislike of the 'slow' menu and the need to navigate menus more than should be required.

  • also, I wonder why some headphone amps + DAC cost so much when something like this can do that and much more

      This is 20x bigger…?

  • Is this better than the denon x2400h?

  • Showing £417 plus post here?

    • VAT will be taken out before final screen maybe?

    • +2

You'll get the final price of £403 after checkout. The price of £417 included 20% VAT which is removed from the final price. Shipping is then added to the price.

      • Thanks. Didn't have my CC on me to confirm payment method and see totals. Been waiting for these to come down in price for 6 months!

  • Will GST be added if it arrives in Australia after 1st July? Or will the new GST rule only apply at the time of purchase?

  • GST. It applies at the time money is deducted from your account. Sometimes amazon take 3 weeks to ship/deduct money from your account.

Now I’m collecting 4K discs I wanna get into Atmos too.

Anyone have any advice on how much would a decent set of speakers be to pair with this? Including Atmos speakers, ideally the upwards firing type and not roof mounted (I’m a renter)

  • good one mate. been hanging out for one of these. and just in time before the GST paywall comes in

  • Im a bit confused. I have the standard 5.1 speakers. With atmos does this mean having either overhead speakers or special atmos speakers? Is there any advantage with a 'normal' setup like mine?

    • The atmos speakers can be ceiling mounted or 'up-firing' style. Up-firing usually can either sit on top of your Left/Right speaker and aim at the roof to bounce the effects down to do, or they can usually be mount high on the wall as well pointing down towards you.

I got this amp without any Atmos gear, as an insurance replacement for the older 1060. As a regular 5.1 amp its still very nice, cool features like wifi, music streaming etc, but if your current amp is doing the job and you might as well stick with it.

  • Got the model before this. Bought locally just under 3 1/2 years ago and it's just stopped working. Now out of warranty :(

I purchased this on amazon but it says "delivery date pending" with no charges to the credit card. Not even any small amount as holding.

It's strange as normally there is at least a delivery date. The site says there is still stock remaining as well.

    • Yep definitely something weird going on. Hope they honour the orders.

    • Came to $741 Australian, in stock, but no delivery date after purchase???

      • 411.87 pound / 758.85 AUD for me. Since you guys have said that there is no delivery date, I picked "Priority Express" as a delivery option as it says my estimated delivery is on 25 June.

It says stock = 1 and comes from Amazon EU when I check out. Can't select other UK seller.

I also redid my order and go thru https://smile.amazon.co.uk so that some of proceeds will be donated.

I look at my package tracker and it says arriving 25 June but it's not dispatched.

Fingers crossed. Thanks to you guys for your feedback if I receive it.

    • Yeah its 18th of June now and i had mine pending for a few days as well.
Now pending seems to have gone, but it still says: 'Delivery estimate: We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date. "

      • says dispatched last night (20th of June). ETA 26th of June.

        • yes, my order says its been dispatched too, with ETA Thursday 28th June to Brisbane,QLD. It's with UPS for delivery, I hope they do have local drop off points as I will most probably miss delivery due to not being home due to work commitments !

        • Received mine today, thank you to UPS. Was scheduled for 28th, got it quite a few days early !
Ive set it up and it is running well. Just keeps asking to update firmware (connected over wifi) and when I try to, it fails. Must have something to do with the product being from a Europe market and trying to update with Sony Australia software ? Any ideas people ? I am thinking of downloading the firmware onto USB and update but I dont want to brick it. I could leave it alone but that means no online streaming radio stations music etc as it keeps prompting for updating software..

  • Just refreshed the page and it now says in red that it does not ship to Australia and lists another seller with 4 left.
Fair enough, but that's not what it said when I bought mine. Will see what happens I guess.
I have a screen shot of my transaction with Amazon as the seller, not the one listed now.
