  • Wow! Pair that with Cashrewards 5% and NAB 10% Cashback and you're looking at around $324… Not sure if the $20 new user would also work for that but hey still a genuine bargain…

    • +8

The Cashrewards 5% and "AMAZON20" doesn't stack. Using "AMAZON20" won't qualify you for Cashrewards.

      • Yeah I didn't think it would - so $324 it is then ;)

      • +1

        Seriously? how do you know?

      • +3

I actually literally just got approved for my cashback for Switch and I used AMAZON20

        • You must've bought the Switch a while ago right? No way you get approved that fast

        • +2

          @aorusozbarg: May 18
The invoice doesn't say that I specifically used the AMAZON20 code, just "Promotion applied: -$20"

        • @theguyrules: can anyone else confirm this?

        • @eraijah:

i can confirm that purchases i made with the code did NOT give me the cashback.

        • @stwok: Did you attempt to contact them to get the cashback, and they denied you?
Or did it just not track at all?

For me, I ordered and then got an email a few days later saying no Amazon AU purchases were tracked properly, and if I send them an invoice they'll manually approve it, and thats what I got.

  • +4

Just note that AmazonAU are having some checkout issues, and they said it will be fixed in 3~5 hours.

    • Damn that's annoying, I guess people could price match elsewhere for the main prices if they want. Prices should stay live in the mean time as they fix the issues.

      • +1

        Checkout issues has been resolved.

        • Yep that's great news :)

  • +1

    wow! cheapest yet?

    • Was $300 at HN if you had an Amex card.

    • Think I paid this about a year ago from Kogan.

Cheapest if you have an NAB card though

    • 353 base from Kogan earlier this year

    • thanks guys will pull the trigger. but amazon checkout down.. sh*t

  • Ugh just bought one the other week when it dropped down to $395 :(

    • +1

Don’t worry, I got mine almost a month ago for $399 and I’m not too worried, cause I’m loving it!

You can always try asking amazon if they will refund the difference. I’ve had luck in the past doing this. Try live chat.

      • That's good to hear! My switch came but not the game i ordered so i'm still waiting to play it aha

        • Which game?

        • xenoblade chronicles 2

        • Fortnite is on switch now and free to play so no need to wait to start gaming :)

        • Eh not my kind of game at all unfortunately happy that it got ported over but :)

  • I'm hoping that they drop it down to $350 so that I can pay the same as I did with the previous Harvey Norman deal with $100 cashback.

That being said, nice find OP! (:

    • +1

      $355 is pretty damn close

      • Harvey Norman would probs only accept face value minus the $20 off amazon so it would be $375.25

  • Is this the one with affected tegra chips?

    • +4

100% of models currently out are vulnerable.

    • +1

No new revisions have been spotted yet, so I’d assume so.

    • -2

whats the status on homebrew for switch? once setup is it convenience to use? or a pain in the ass like tethered?

  • +1

Other Nintendo Switch Accessories that are on special from AmazonAU
    - Nintendo Switch Joy Con Grey Controller Right $36
    - Nintendo Switch AC Adapter $29.99 & Snipperclips Plus: Cut It Out, Together! $44 is apart of the BOGOF Offer
    - Nintendo Switch Pro Controller $74.99 - Note price was lowered, so doesn't qualify for "$20 off for new new users"

    • +1

Any chance you know anything about the Xenoblade pro controller? Trying to get my hands on it but struggling.

      • I asked Ebgames about this a month or two back - they told me it has been discontinued and basically only what is available in stores is the last of the stock they will be getting. I managed to find one at JBHIFI, but not sure what numbers are like

  • +1

How many people still have amazon20? Or do you just make new accounts?

    • +4

Just make a new account, or add + to your email and sign up.

    • +2

Just make a new account. All that's required is a new email address.

    • +1

Also if you have an old account, you can ask them to give you the Amazon20 which they do, given that you havent already used it once.

  • +1

Pairs well with today's release of free Fortnite

  • Will HN price match?

    • +1

Yes they will, you can easily do it over live chat for the $375.25/$379.05 prices. Just link them the page and they'll create a link to checkout with for you.

      • They would not match the price $355.25/$379.05.

        • Hmm okay, I have removed it out of the post, they matched $398 easily, thought they would have done the same for this.

        • @doweyy:
          Only advertised prices.

    • +1

I got HN to price match to $375.25 via Live Chat. With Amex's offer it comes down to $325.25. Happy days!

  • Welcome to the Fortnite community Switch. :D

  • Would love to have but no time with current back log on PS4.

    • +2

The console is portable, so you can play on the toilet seat.

  • +1

can I use AMAZON20 on pokemon let's go pikachu and evee?

    • +1

Just note that you need to spend a minimum of $79, to qualify for the 'AMAZON20' code.

I tested it on the 2x Poké Ball Plus and the code works. Wasn't able to checkout with Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! as it "can't be delivered to your selected address".

      • Thanks.
If I buy both, which will will be $140, then 'AMAZON20' code can apply.plus NAB 10% off,the total price will drop to $108, right?
Then I put one of them on gumtree, resell it as $60 brand new sealed. I expect to enjoy the left one at roughly $50, which is far cheaper than any other sellers.

        good idea?

        • Another option would be to pick up two $9 item and place two different orders to maximise discount.

  • Would target price match this?

    • they should

      • even when paying with gift cards?

        • I dont believe paying the gift cards would affect this at all

        • The would most likely match the full amount of Nintendo Switch Neon $375.25, Grey $379.05. Shouldn't be any issues paying with gift cards.

        • cheers crew! Managed to conquer my ADD and resist buying this for so long I got enough points to get it for free 😂

  • +3

Issues seem to have been fixed, I can get to the final stage of checkout now, whereas I couldn't before.

  • +1

    checkout issue is fixed.

  • +1

I just called HM and they don't price match, offered to sell it for $398

    • +3

      Typical Harvey Norman..

Even though he wants GST on all goods sold overseas

If Amazon AU can keep these big sales going and more regularly,

then we can tell GERRY HARVEY TO F OFF! No Business for You!

      • +2

I honestly think it's to do with that. Get people interested in Amazon AU and once the change is finalised and we're blocked from Amazon.com, these sales will be, hopefully more common to really stick it to him. Competition is meant to be good.

        • Problem is as much as I like the Amazon AU sales.
No doubt these have been ramping up late e.g. the Xbox minecraft sale was amazing.

The amount of items is still small compared to US store.

I also check prices and even after shipping cost, the US store is still cheaper than AU store by $100 or more dollars.

I do like some benefits of the AU store though
like faster free shipping and easier to return items.

    • I spoke to someone through live chat and they said they’ll match the $375?

    • +1

Try going through live chat. Keep cycling until you find someone that would pricematch.

    • I just called HM

      Didn't know H&M started selling Switches. :)

  • Does anyone know if Amex is still offering $50 cash back from Harvey Norman? Also, if so could someone send me a link to the details for these?

  • +1

Of course it's on sale…. right after I buy it on the 11% Of deal on ebgames eBay.

    • You could always get this and return the EB Games one :)

    • how much paid?

There's always a better deal around the corner..
      especially on Ozbargain corner..

So always feel disappointment after purchasing
      When you see it cheaper

      Better to just buy it
and turn off ozbargain for a week..

      • I paid $438 for the neon console and Mario kart 8 deluxe

        • that's not too bad if you sub the cost of mario kart 8.

What are you going to do?

        • @pinkybrain:

I'm just going to keep it. Too much stuffing around for $15 difference

  • +1

YAY - bought. Had to explain the difference between the Switch and the SNES Classic Mini to the Minister of Fun & Finance, but they approved.

    • +2

My Minister of Finance was never fun…

    • +1

Haha Minister of Fun & Finance. That made me chuckle… You must be very good at explaining.

    • +2

haha good on you!! I haven't mentioned mine yet, waiting for all the cashbacks to clear before I bring it up so I can show him how much I saved…. and also so I can say it's a bday gift to myself haha….

  • Decided to purchase with Amazon in the end for a peace of mind. Total came to $355.25 (with code). Thanks OP

  • are these amazon ones grey imports? im looking to buy two but $355 is still a bit much to justify.

    • Negative, they're 100% Australian stock sourced from Nintendo Australia.

This is one of the cheapest prices achievable in recent times that is easy to get, so unless you've got the time on hand to wait, I recommend buying now.

      • Wait for what, if you don't mind me asking?

I'd get one now, except I'm not heading overseas for 60 days and can't get the GST back.

        • I just meant a further price drop because the commenter said $355 is still a bit too much. I'm sure it'll probably get cheaper in the future, just not sure how long it will take :)

        • @doweyy: i only want it for the pokemon games so i can wait until November, doesnt seem to be many eofy sales on these things.

        • @stwok: last November had some great sales on the Switch.

    • Can confirm Australia Stock. I've purchased multiple Nintendo Switch Accessories from Amazon AU, and they have all been local stocks.

    • good to know its aussie stock.

  • Thanks OP. Will be fun to see if I can get some emulators running on it and relive the coin-op days.
