Wow, up to $80 credit now with the coupon stacking! That's insane.

  • +2

Shit, I could go back to Vietnam at this rate lol

  • +3

I hope they dont void all these vouchers entered in the accounts later

    • +1

has been removed from my account already, so they are onto it!

        • +6

Evidently, they can stack quite well, until someone decides to remove them.

        • @dm01:
Not great really, if they couldn’t stack they shouldn’t been able to

        • @taoz: Exactly my point!

        • +8

          STOP THE LIES!
GoCatch voucher codes WERE NOT limited to one code per person and multiple promo codes COULD be used/stacked together.
Why does your poorly written app accept multiple valid codes if only one is ok?
Why did you change your Terms AFTER you realised one could stack codes?
Why didn't you leave ONE code such as many people had a valid referral?
Why did you clean out ALL of every ones credit without consulting?
Why did you remove old unrelated credits people had?
Why do your own staff say you are on the way out?
Why should anyone trust your dodgy company now?

        • +1

I tried to catch the Go here but your company took all the go from my account. So now I have no go to go catch.

  • Used your referral code. Thanks!

    • Where about's is his referral code? Oh I just found it…. it's in the Referral Links section. My bad.

    • Thanks :)

  • +3

    Thanks GreenVine! +1

    Great Deal!

    • +2

Not sure who negged you lol. I've upvoted to compensate :)

      • +1

Thanks! I've upvoted you to compensate for your upvote :)

        • no such thing as overcompensating :) + :)

  • OP, any idea if these codes do something weird with the app? I can't enter in a pickup or destination address! Try it out and you might find the same :(

    • Looks like no problem for me :)

    • Yep. Mine doing the same on my android phone. Just force quit the app and reopened it and it worked again. Had a popup come up when I reopened it about the manly game so maybe it was freezing with the popup not appearing.

    • -4

Hi MathNerd, that doesn't sound right at all. Can you let us know the details by submitting a support ticket here: http://on.gocatch.com/contact and we'll follow up with you.

  • +1

    RIP GoCatch.

    • GoCatch…OzBargain's new Aussie Farmers Direct :'(

  • -1

Have you got to be club catch?
    Thx

    • Has nothing to do with Catch!

      They just have similiar names.

  • +3

I had $2.50 in my account then added the three vouchers for $62.50 total now. If I take a trip to the airport that costs $40, does it take it all off of my balance of $62.50, or does it take $20 off that fare? Thanks!

    • +1

It will only take off the amount of the fare. So if it costs $40 you won't be charged anything and you will have $22.50 credit left.

      • +1

        Wow, brilliant!

        • +1

          Sounds like a +Vote

  • +1

how do i sign up as a passenger?

    • +2

Download the app onto your smartphone - signup is through the app.

      • +3

yeh thanks. I was trying to sign up on the website..

        • So was I for nearly 10 minutes!

    • -4

Simply download the app from the App Store or Google Play and create a new account.

  • I signed up Thanks OP

  • Great deal OP. 80 bucks of free taxi rides, amazing

    • They are slightly cheaper than Uber in Sydney but more expensive everywhere else as they apply the same rates Australia wide. Uber charge different rates in each city.

  • thank you OP.
    updated referral

  • Ok got my $80 seems like if you can expense unlimited sims/numbers this would be beneficial to everyone, would this be a glitch by any chance or just simple marketing for so much credit? I can never see companies like Uber taking the lead with such ideal l offers like GoCatch.

    • +2

I'll say a glitch in the background. I believe multiple codes shouldn't be able to stack (well not 3 of them!). Use the credit quickly before it disappears!

      • +1

been removed from my account already

  • +2

There is only 1 car available in Perth…. Not sure how good the service would be in WA until they get more drivers

  • +1

    This is great. Thanks OP

  • "Account Activation Requied"
"We have emailed your instructions to activate your account."

    Wtf?

I haven't received any email and I can't access anything.

    • same thing happened to me when they launched.

Last year when they launched, I had added one code and referred my own partner and she added a code.

After we both took one trip each, both our accounts got suspended. WTF kind of company.

    • -4

Hi Amaurys, please email [email protected] and we'll follow up regarding the status of your account.

      • What a joke
How can my account be 0 now.
Signed up from friend referral. And now don’t have that 20 at all
        Poor service

    • Don't bother emailing them, because I did that more than 5 times over the course of 1 year, but they never reactivated my account. Just go with Ola, Taxify, Uber. So many other choices out there.

  • +3

All codes have been deducted from my account. They should’ve alreast let go one of them???

    • Bastards, all mine have gone as well.

  • +2

Why am I not surprised they remove the codes? Last year when they launched, I had added one code and referred my own partner and she added a code.

After we both took one trip each, both our accounts got suspended. WTF kind of company.

For this promo, I would suggest if you have an active account, add the code and use it immediately, especially if travelling a long distance to the airport, for e.g.

But this company is one I wouldn't support with my wallet.

      • +10

You can also use that link to request your account and all personal details be deleted. That's what I have done despite being literally the biggest supporter of GoCatch on this site*. *Top poster and top voter.

      • +1

Well, my account and my partner's account has been suspended since a week after the launch of GoCatch. I have repeatedly contacted support to 'activate' our accounts, but never got reactivated.

  • +1

Very poor customer service with the legit purchase etc, least they should have filter out the right ones.

  • +12

    @rep

    • +4

Think they can’t be bothered to check people’s accounts individually and a fact of laziness, that’s a sign of very poor customer services and its a sign for people not to use GoCatch.

they want each and one of us to do the work for them, can’t beleve such companies exist.

      • +1

This kind of things can be happened because of recurring unskilled cheap IT staff.

  • +1

All codes immediately removed from new account with no option to use again. Disappointing.

  • +2

    You can leave a review here and warn others;

    https://www.productreview.com.au/p/gocatch.html

  • +1

I told them to leave at least one of the vouchers active on my account or they can also remove my account from their system since they like removing things so much.

Literally the only reason I give new ride sharing apps a go is if I can have an upfront discount for the risks of using a new system amongst reports of a ride never arriving etc… Removing all my vouchers makes that impossible.

  • +1

Complains about stacking vouchers…then removes ALL of them. Good way to lose customers.

  • go scam…removed all credits and offers a crappy membership as consolation.

  • I had some credit on there previously - it wasn't much, around 19 cents. They removed it ALL. My balance is now $0.

It looks like they removed ALL credit from all users?

  • Had $5 in my account before all this, now have $0 - bye GC, hello 131008

  • +6

GoCatch has always been the most expensive way to hail a taxi. All their promotions are just smoke and mirrors trying to hide the fact that you end up paying more using the app. This bait and switch screw up is not helping their image either. And they have the audacity to email and CONGRATULATE me about the "free Rewards Membership", only to hide the message of "we're revoking your credit" in the end. Like I said, it's always smoke and mirrors, even with their email trying to clean up the mess. I can't stand poor service, let along shady practice. I have emailed their support to permanently close my account and already removed the app from my phone.

    All my credits gone.

  • All my credits wiped, $67 worth. These guys are a joke

  • +2

    What the hell stuff them

  • +4

Credits wiped from $60 to $0. Perhaps GoCatch were trying to increase their user base to prop up their stats before EOFY? Either way they handled this pretty terribly.

  • +3

    Fake news

  • Can someone please report this deal as expired (as GoCatch are not honouring it), I tried to report it but I get an error.

  • @Rep now is the time to GoCatch negs ans reputation there after.
While cancelling codes maybe fine but the way u guys did, terrible. Have guts to apologise and then revoke those credits. You wdnt get so many negs.

  • +4

i have given them a poor rating on the app store and on product review

    https://www.productreview.com.au/p/gocatch.html

if we all do that, they will learn that you can't just treat customers like crap.

  • +4

This explains why GoCatch called me today to say that I had been given a special membership where I can collect coins.

I am not bothered that they took away the promotional credit if that was an error however I have also lost all referral credits.

I travel for work all the time and exclusively used GoCatch to get around every day.
Not anymore, I've uninstalled the app.

They also asked me to leave them a positive review on the app store…

    • +4

Soliciting reviews is against the T & C of most review sites.
      Highly unethical!

  • +4

GoCatch has been calling everybody about the great news of offering people "free membership upgrade" and asking for good reviews online to hide the bad press they have been receiving for the scam they pulled. Most calls forgot to mention the unilateral wiping of all credit from users' accounts. The lies continue.

    • +4

Got this call just then. I listened carefully to what they offered, noted how they didn't mention re-instating any of the vouchers and instead some loyalty/membership program. So I let them finish and said "can you just remove my account instead?"
      They asked "why is that?"
      I said "I think it's pretty obvious"

      OzBargain unite! :)

      • +4

        Same same…

Although I had to insist to delete my account on at least 7 occasions, each time being countered by some bullsht. Last ocassion ended with “if you can’t help me, I’ll find some else that can”.

Will send an email to their support to delete account.

Nothing personal to the rep that called me, but fk mate quit it with the numerous attempts to keep me on. Damage is done, let me delete my account and move on. Still continuing with their bullsht they’ve pulled from the get go.

Hopefully other OzB’s also insist to delete their accounts!

    • +2

Got the phonecall as well….offered me a $25 voucher and the free membership….just told them no and delete my account! Felt good.

  • +4

I enjoyed dropping a steaming turd on them on Google and Product review.
They have proven that they cannot be trusted with money (or credit)

  • +7

GoCatch is trying to save themselves from their most recent PR disaster by continuing their deceitful tactics.

GoCatch has always been the most expensive way to hail a taxi. All their promotions are just smoke and mirrors trying to hide the fact that you end up paying more using the app. This bait and switch screw up is not helping their image either. Update

They really need to take it easy on copying and pasting their lies. GoCatch got caught red handed changing their Ts&Cs to cover up their ass. There wasn't any "non-stacking" clause before. Want proof? Ts&Cs Section 23 Before & After

Oh, by the way, calling people up to trick them into giving you positive reviews is also highly unethical, if not against Ts&Cs of most websites. Beware, if you haven't received the scam call yet, you will soon.

    • +3

That is a beautiful review you wrote on Product Review - really gave it to them
      Kudos!

  • -1

    Anyone still got their credit?

    • I still have $80

      • Gone today!
I had $80 too but they seem to have removed it overnight

        • I got $25 left though.

  • They still haven't deleted my account/personal information as requested and tried to give me a $20 credit instead. If it's not deleted soon I will be making a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

  • +1

They've finally started replying to my requests for removing my account - but looks like they've replied in most recent to oldest, so they replied to me twice, proving they still haven't removed my account…?
