  • I had to dig into the MSDS trying to find if this is a pure synthetic or semi synthetic and it wasn't easy to find

    This oil's MSDS:

Section 3 states "Highly refined base oil"

    Compare to a 0w30 oil's MSDS

where section 3 states "Synthetic base stock"

Any oil chemistry experts able to chime in here? Is it really a "Synthetic"?

    • Semi-synthethic mate. Still a great oil for older (10+ years) cars

  • Thanks bought 2. I have an oil expert at work who's job was to run a lab.
He swears on replacing oil in a car every 5-6k and buys pretty much stock standard oil. Says there is very to no difference…
Think the one he prefers is magnates.

Anyways I think that for my 10 yo car it will do the trick for my next 5k oil change.

    • I think there is a massive difference between synthetic versus mineral oil. Check out this video where an engineer looks at the data and does a test…

The major benefit here is that additives tend to break down over time, so synthetic oils will maintain their original viscosity properties much better throughout the engine oil drain interval versus conventional oils.
