  • Cashrewards through app has always worked for me? Is that new?

    • AliExpress' app.

      • Yes on iOS I click through CR mobile site, opens App Store, then opens the Aliexpress app

        • Probably safest to delete the AliExpress app while doing cashback on a mobile device.

        • @Clear: just meaning itโ€™s always worked for me through their app regardless ๐Ÿ™‚

        • @Chickenleg: Well if it doesn't track or get paid out we'll know why.

It's always worked for me too, through the Android AliExpress app.

I'm guessing these guys won't be enforcing 10% GST come July?

    • God I really hope so.

    • I think they said previously that they would. There are many Chinese sites that won't though

Interestingly, judging by their website, New York based B&H Photo are not complying

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Compelling international retailers to apply Australian GST is virtually impossible

      • Excellent. Good to hear.

Hope more companies hold out for as long as possible.

Compelling international retailers to apply Australian GST is virtually impossible

What might throw a spanner into the works of our excitement here could be a conspiring Australian Govt. working with Australia Post in rejecting 'non-certified' post from getting to us. This might be 24mths after the legislation passes, but never underestimate how insatiable the government's thirst is for tax, both Labour and Liberal.

        • +1

We'll see. The whole point of all this nonsense is that it is too expensive to collect this tax at the border (spend $900m to collect $300m) - therefore get the retailer to collect it. They could try border collection if there is major non-compliance by retailers but that could be difficult to justify

          Who knows

        • This. I reckon they'll try to force this through. So much for the party for free markets, lol.

      • But isn't it supposed to be AusPost collecting it?

And if true, how are Auspost going to keep tabs and bill me for my numerous weekly aliexpress orders?

        • No, that's not the intention of this exercise

        • +1

Auspost don't have capability to collect. They would send a big bill to the government to create the capability and by that time the 10% will be like 1%.

  • I've always found once I go through the Cashrewards link there are alot of sellers removed from AliExpress especially the cheaper ones

    • +6

That's caused by AliExpress' affiliate network as it adds af to the URL. It's best to find what you want first, add to wishlist then go through CR. Hasn't failed me yet.

    • I have encountered higher prices during search while through Cashrewards. Had to switch to other browser and add the item to basket then through Cashrewards again :P

    • Use incognito mode to find products. You will find a bigger range.

Purchased a faulty battery from them. Refused refund. But WISH refund is legendary.
