I like the list of exclusions at the bottom

    • the things you 'can' buy to qualify for voucher

      or

the things you 'can' buy with the voucher?

      • Myer also has a current deal for $10 off for every $75 spent, this applies for electrical goods, and some other category, but i forgot which it was

again, im not sure if these two offers can be used together, otherwise its pretty epic

        • No they don't, the $10 deal is for something about Apple, maybe just accessories, sorry I didn't check the sign.

lolol the exclusion list takes up like 1/4 of the page.

    • 1/4 of the page in small print lol

  • Then you have to use the voucher in 3 days and on a transaction of $30 or more.
Talk about have to jump thru hoops to get it !!

Got a great deal, purchased an item for $150.45 that was reduced from $229 and received two $20 vouchers, the purchase was from a gift card that was purchased with a bonus 10% offer last month and Myer One points apply to the $150 purchase.

There are some good deals with this offer if you can find them.

    • Looked at the offer does not mention $20 voucher for every $75 spend, so you should receive only one $29 voucher not two please clarify ????????

      • Thats what i thought the deal was, but i sure have two $20 vouchers.

Item purchased was a Samsung Blu Ray player BDC5500 model, and there were no other offers on the player that would make the sale receive 2 vouchers that would not entitle a $150+ purchase of another item/department to receive more than one $20 voucher..

        • +1

can u use those two $20 vouchers together or do you have to make 2 transactions over $30 to usem them? thanks.

        • Hmmm…..2 vouchers?
There is a thing I wanna buy just $150. Would be great if I can get 2 $20 vouchers.
Also got gift cards during X'mas sale.
Might try my luck on tmr..

        • seanm, the terms of the $20 voucher state that "A limit of one $20 voucher per transaction applies" so no, cant combine them.

        • I asked at the service desk when I was in there today and they called the manager who said it's a voucher per $75 spent, after buying my TV and only being given one (after asking lol) I told them I had the point clarified before I bought it so the manager got involved again and told the salesperson to give me what I had been told I would get…eh, I'm not sure anyone really knew but as long as you clarify the point you really have a strong case.

Also one gift card per transaction, the best value would be realised by spending $30 per transaction, can't use a credit card to pay when using the gift card either.

no doubt a good deal for myer, but like all things myer, they are expensive and you could get most of the things much cheaper elsewhere, without all the BS terms and conditions and jumping through hoops.

gift cards are excluded in this voucher.. and I prefer to have my discounts upfront.

    • So you think you should be able to buy $75 worth of gift cards, get a $20 voucher and get $95 of store value for $75?

      • Offer excludes giftcards.

        • Yes, he said that. I was pointing out that is with very good reason.

      • Nope, I think consumers should be entitled to pay just $55 upfront without all the jump through hoops/voucher/rebate/come back just to use the voucher in 2 days BS.

Compounded with disinterested Myer sales staff, they are not getting me to part with my money any sooner.

    • Their prices are pretty competitive with some things especially when on sale, and while people talk about online shopping all the time, there are some things which just aren't that practical - electrical goods like TVs come to mind.

      • they also do pricematch for most things, like TVs or laptops (inc Macbook :)), though it depends on the sales guy you meet… so, they're not always expensive, unless you buy their full ticketed price…

      • not knocking brick n mortar shops, I do enjoy window shopping and the occasional friendly interaction with the sales staff… that is provided that said interaction exists

funny when you say that, when it comes to TVs and white goods, I always ended up getting a better deal at some bing lee or good guys outlet.

no doubt this deal is good for myer, but I wouldn't waste my time on it.. :)

  • tempting until i find out the gift card is valid for 3 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in the most ideal situation, you save roughly 19% (20/105)

normally, you are not possible to spend $75 to receive $20, more likely $85 (in the good situation), and you wouldnt spend $30 to use this $20, more likely $40 (again, in a pretty good situation, or you'll spend more),

so in reality, only merely 16%

and how could a 16% off is a good deal in myer?

    • +1

because it can be combined with other discount offers?

      • Yes I spent $300 on clearance items that were reduced 75% on special price. I paid in 4 separate transactions and got $80s in vouchers . Plus I paid with gift cards that I purchased in December further 9%.
On electrical items there is also $10 dollars discount when you purchase items over $75
When you combine the two deals it is a good offer.

    • cloud226, I used one $20 voucher today to purchase 4x Lafitte socks (RRP $11.95). There is currently a Myer offer: Buy 2, get one free on socks and underwear. Bought 3 @ $11.95 = $35.85 + 1 free pair
      $35.85 total - $20 voucher = $15.85 paid
      $15.85 / 4 = $3.96 / pr and this is a saving of 66.8%.
Lafitte is quality Australian made and only ever on sale at Myer and not normally this amount of discount. The deal above may be worthy of a separate OzBargain listing.

Myer should be boycotted. They are part of the grubby retail alliance trying to make our imports from overseas more expensive so they can protect their insane prices. Boycott this mob

    • +1

I don't think there's a need to boycott them, considering their prices are too expensive for us to buy on a regular basis.
But if they do put up a good sale every now and then we should buy to:
      1. save us some money
      2. show them that they can get sales if they reduced their profit margins and hint to them what they're doing wrong
      3. I think that these clearance items would be going out the door at cost, or very close to cost price if not below cost price.

      • -1

To conclude, boycott them by never buying full priced items, but whenever there is a really good bargain, let's clear out their stocks.

      • I dont think clearance items would be going on cost. You guys would be amazed to find out how much profit they make. My friend was interested in starting a business for shoes a little while ago. The total price of a pair of shoe including all costs (shipping tax etc) was coming down to $3!!! And the same kind of shoes were going for around $100. That is crazy profit.
I travelled overseas to a place where they this jeans factory and they made jeans for Levi's, Lee, Wrangler etc, and the cost of the jeans from there was again $2-3 max for Levi's etc…
The point is that they still make a lot of profit…
If they can stand up for a change in gst regulations, we should also stand up against them. Australia is one of the most expensive places to shop, and it is a fact…

Keep to the deal, not the SHOP!
