Absolutely loved halo, to the point i even read some of the books. but never caved in to the xbox and had to stop at halo 2

    sad :(

    • Can't you play 5 on PC?

      • Only the multiplayer and only custom games. No matchmaking or campaign.

        • And no one plays it anymore sadly.

At this stage it is only the multiplayer available. No singleplayer/coop campaign.

        • That's not going to change, because the leaked game doesn't have the AI code.
It's still the best way to play any online Halo right now though.

    • to the point i even read some of the books

Yeah, have you seen it recently though? They keep crapping out books from different authors and making things up.

Not a big gamer but I do remember being pumped to buy Halo 2 back in the day after some of the teaser trailers. Certainly some of the moments from Halo 1 and 2 are in my top 5 gaming memories.

Fast forward to today, with my consoles (x360 and Nintendo Wii u) gathering dust :(

Same here. November 9th 2004 was the best sickie ever!

As I remember it the campaign was rubbish in this but multi was decent.

    • I thought it was ok albeit not greatly different from Halo 1. A few upgrades (e.g. dual wielding) along with some of the environments made it cool.

From memory there were some levels played as the Arbiter? This changed things up a little.

Second half of halo one sucked a bit. "The Library" was very repetitive, the flood were annoying, and Two Betrayals was just Assault On The Control Room rehashed (though I enjoyed it).

        Yep

This was the hardest one to play on Legendary difficulty from memory (out of 1, 2, 3, odst and reach, halo 4 and 5 aren't worth mentioning).

I'll be watching this. Unfortunately I still haven't been able to play Halo 2 Anniversary because I don't have an Xbone yet, while I would be willing to buy one just to play it, I'm gonna keep waiting until there are enough good exclusives to justify a whole console lol.

Shame there is no PC release of the first two remastered Halo games. Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary and Halo 2 Anniversary. Even though they were both originally released on the PC.
