  • Uses optus network as in T&Cs.

Seems pretty good, but around TPG pricing.

    REP,

This is a really good deal. saves me money, was on 3 prepaid now this is pretty dam good.

Is tethering an option for iphone?

    • -1

:( On almost anything, except the iPhone. Tks Optus.

      • not true. i had it tethering when i had one. cant remember how though, pretty sure i just used the optus settings. meh.
why 16-20$ to change plans?? at every phone shop/customer service centre its a matter of pushing a button, no need for a new sim to do a 'live-swap'…"ploise explain"…

What is it? I have no idea what you're selling. Might be a good idea to put the product name in the title.

    • The one listed is the Discovery Medium on 12 Mth contract

      • +1

One what? Is it animal, mineral or vegetable? The product title is gibberish. The only words used are 'Total Value to Anyone On-net Unlimited Social no contract'. What IS it? Is it a mobile phone plan? Wireless internet? ADSL internet?

        • SIM Only, Mobile Cap (i.e. Mobile phone plan).

        • Yeah. Dodgy title.

        • +8

Ahh, that's better, now I understand. From the title it looked like you were trying to charge $21 per month for membership to a swinger's club. The only words that made any sense to me were 'Unlimited Social'.

  • Strong title.

  • I am paying $29 a month on Optus YES plan which was offered with iPhone 3G Launch. It is a nice plan, but too expensive now and I would like to cut it back to $15-$20 a month so I can save up for iPhone 5 launch.

This seems good too me so will consider switching over. calls are expensive but at the moment i only get $24 a month (unused credit rolls over though), 100 free texts and 250mb. This looks good on 6 month plan for $19.50 p/m with $400 and 1gb data.

    Should offer unlimited YouTube =D!

i just can't trust these people; they have lost the balance between cost cutting and service levels. not having a phone no# to call was so frustrating when i tried to sign up with them. i didn't receive the SIM but was put on the billing cycle without confirmation.

    • Yeah I had a lot of trouble signing up last time too and it made it all the more frustrating not having a number to call.

I had the opposite to you though, I signed up for the deal that gave like 'x' amount of free months if you left your provider, but no matter what I did I couldn't get the order to go through. I used Paypal, had money in my account but it refused to go through. I ended up just forgetting all about it in the end.

  • I thought it was pretty obvious what they were selling based on the title, plus past similar cap mobile pricing. Oh Greenie4242, you hair splitter.

I've been happy with LiveConnect, except for something which I thought should be included in the cap but wasn't. Apparently it is outside of their control, but I felt it wasn't disclosed to me.

When you get a phone call and it goes through to messagebank, do not use the option to return the call from messagebank, otherwise it doesn't count within the cap limit, but is billed separately.

One of the disadvantages of being a reseller no doubt, but I still don't believe it was disclosed at all before I got my bill.

  • yea but tpg has lower no contract binded deal…

  • Good deals. But I am unhappy with serice level.

  • +1

Isn't the tpg $19 a month deal better? Approx same amount of cap credit, 1 gb data but billed by the 30s and lower call rates?

    • TPG $19. Gives you $70 less Talk & Text to Anyone. Plus data is billed per 10KB session. Plus you are charged for facebook, twitter, linkedin, ebay.

  • Good pricing, but horrible customer service.

Agreed, Signed up with them to port a number. Received a new SIM approx 3 weeks later and was given a new number. Was then told I cannot port my number and had to buy a new SIM for $20. There was no phone number so this was all done via email which took days. Finally got my number ported and all was good for about 6 months. Phone bill was always $10 month then one month got hit with a $400 bill with no explanation. After many emails and no help i decided to cut my losses and port out.

    @REP

You guys should stop fiddling with the deals. I noticed that the "Discovery" plan is already in it's third incarnation.
As I see it, your point of difference in the market place is all price-point, nothing else.
The simplicity of the first round of deals Vs the (crappy) customer service was a reasonable trade off all this fiddling around ("Social" deals etc.) looks like you guys have lost direction.

I would go back to those and build the customer base.
    K.I.S.S. principle.

Wow liveconnected, you're really losing it guys. Prepare to have a whole forum against you soon. Nice business plan: 'Piss off your customers'.

  • Can't find any info about how much 13/1300/1800 numbers are charged. From similar Optus based plans (from Optus, or TPG), I doubt they're included in the cap, but it'd be nice to know how much they cost.

I would switch to a plan like this in a second if 13/1300/1800 numbers were included in the cap, even if they were charged at something ridiculous like 3 cap dollars per minute.

    • Hi Chris - 13/1300/1800 aren't included sorry. They were previously but Optus has pulled these back out.
