Why were they removed? That was the best part of that app. Now they've ruined it…

It's their selling point. It's the only one with an exclamation mark.

Unless you absolutely have to have this software on your desktop this a great free android alternative

I find it more useful as you can measure wifi strength around your house.

      Android and windows are different.

I have been using it for years - definitely the pick on android. What about on IOS? Anyone found a free one that is similar?

    • Unusual that this Android one is incompatible with all my devices? I wonder why.

      • Minimum is Android 6.0, I see now. How times change so quickly with technology now !

        • Works fine on my old Android devices. try installing from the Device itself and it should download a compatible version

        • @The Land of Smeg: same issue unfortunately. Says not compatible. 😣

Was a good plan but wont work unless I turn location services on, which I refuse to on principle. :)

      • just let uncle bill know where you live, whats the harm

    • Another free app:
Building a WiFi heat map was pretty useful when I was doing sciencey WiFi stuff, neighbour let me use their network but had to find a sweet spot for WiFi adapter

    • Fing is another useful android networking tool.

I loved my 1520, but the lack of apps saw me heading back to Android.

    Thanks BA. Got it.

There's no way this app should be $45 but a useful little tool for free, I guess.

  • hmm, seems to only want to work by going through MS Store?

    • Well….. DERRRR.

  • For a sec I thought Win10 os for free. Darn you.

    What's the point of this?

    • surveys the wireless network(s), lets you know signal strength of each AP and what control channel (frequency) they operate on. You will need to know this so that you can set your own frequency to avoid overlaps.

The same thing your phone already does, except it's an app, and it has um features and stuff.

  • Awesome find, downloaded on my Surface Laptop, cheers :)

  • anyone know a good free iphone equivalent

  • Seems windows store is the same as Android and iOS. You can't "purchase" the app until you've downloaded it. With those 2 I just use an older device to install it on.

I got one android phone with 200+ icon packs. The moment I turn that phone on it's going to be spammed by these things.

  • Currently $4.45

    • thanks.. offer has gone now .. updated.

  • damn this was one of those things were i kept a tab open thinking ill get around to it later but its too late now
